Session frequency and a strange pattern

    I've found something interesting about my sessions, which may help those not feeling much, but anyways i would love to know why this is, the way that it is. (if that is even possible)

    This is a typical scenario of just ONE DAY;

    • So if i decide to have a session i find that i feel something nice for maybe 10 mins, not mind blowing, or orgasmic or anything, just nice.
    • I then have a second session some hours later and i notice more sensation, perhaps 20 mins i feel something and its around twice as good as the first.
    • I then have a third session and i get really nice feelings, slightly orgasic and wonderful (not an orgasm, a dry o or anything and again nothing mind blowing, but three times as good as the first session)

    So i need to do this EVERY time i want to feel something (i.e. by the third session i feel lovely things) i can't just have what seems like for all of you out there just one session and feel only what i feel in the third (it always takes this many sessions to get to this point unless i have one really long session every day for maybe a week and then by the weeks end i feel what i feel in the third each and every time i then try in subsequent sessions).

    Its almost like i have to coax my prostate each time to feel something over the course of three sessions in one day (or many sessions over multiple days).

    I don't quite understand this? is this true of others at all? this maybe useful for those not feeling anything in your sessions well, though it maybe helpful list also something i would like to better understand. Its almost as if I'm 'forgetting' how to receive pleasure from that area, like I'm constantly having to start the rewiring process every session, its a very odd place to be at the moment...

    Seems to match my early experiences... Then after each breakthrough the game changed. Today no idea. Seems as unpredictable as possible.

    cool so you have three sessions a day then as well? at least for a time until 'the game changed'

    The most successful session often happened when doing two a day, with at least one extremely long. It would have worked better if I did more shorter sessions in a row. So no not three, but the progressive build is familiar.

    At the moment I'm having 2-3 sessions a day every day, what did you used to do? Did you have a few days gap?

     IMHO, the regime you describe in your first post in this thread could be a recipe for desensitisation of the prostate.

    In the Aneros Wiki,  "Getting Started" section, in the paragraph entitled "Things to Avoid" it says, and I quote:
    1. "Put a day or two between your sessions, your body will use this time to recharge, and you will find the accumulated arousal that comes from this is put to good purpose in your next session."

    I fully understand that, for you, this might not work. However, in general, I believe it to be good advice since the body does require some space between sessions in order to recover and acquire the conditioning that it needs to absorb the sensations to which it is being subject.

    I also have a feeling that @BMayfield, (who I gather, authored the WIKI), might agree with me!

    Pommie, I shall from now on give it a day between sessions. One question though, ok two, I thought desensitization was not possible? Secondly shall I have one session a day or two? I don't want to hinder progress....

    There is no cheat code, just recommodations. Listen to your body..

    The wiki just says that the body/prostate needs rest.

    I've been desencitized.. Same as a dry spell with dud sessions.

    I see, first I am hearing of be desensitised, all the literature previously I read stated nothing of this.

    The wiki saying just needing rest, while I agree with it, mentions nothing of desensitisation, good that you have brought this to my attention. Read my first post, my body responds better by the second or third session, that is me listening to it. It's why I am at conflict now with the idea of rest when the opposite has been true.

    I am however, going to attempt a break of a day at least either side of a session.

    @inhope,
    I have given a bit of further thought to what I had written last night and the following points occurred to me.

    My point about desensitisation was really directed at the concept of two or three sessions a day. If you wanted your prostate to become LESS sensitive to the presence of anything up your bum, I reckon the best way to achieve this would be to repeat the exercise briefly for as many times as possible. I believe three short sessions a day would go a long way to achieving just that!

    Added to that, if the sessions are as short as ten or so minutes, the prostate would hardly have a chance to begin sending the pleasurable sensations to the brain before the tool is removed. So, the lesson the prostate is learning is, "don't send pleasurable messages to the brain"! Clearly, the length of any individual session would be determined principally by which tool is in use. But the most important factor here surely, would be that the session ends when your body tells you it's had enough.

    As @Alex_xxx has suggested, desensitisation is very real and manifests itself as a so-called "dry" period. The quickest way to get through these I have found, is to take a complete break from Aneros activity for a week or so and come back fresh. BTW, the downside I found to this, was that after about four or five days, the dreaded haemorrhoids would flare up! The cure for that was to use the smallest Peridise instead of one of the prostate massagers for a couple of nights.

    FWIW, I have found that the frequency of sessions that works best for me right now is three per week with breaks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday/Saturday. Give that a try?

    Guys you are making rules with things that can't. I have read so many things wrong (for me, so at lrast for one person) I'd just advise people to take that all for personnal theories not guidelines or rules in any sense.

    There was one piece of advice I still liked, though:

    P.S.: what is this desentization you are talking about? Is it the same as numbness? To me numbness is produced by excessive prolonged stimulation, short and gentle stimulation having the contrary effect and does actually wake up the prostate... Which seems to me is what @inhope does and experiences. Why would anyone want to change what works? Maybe I missed an important factor... I don't know.

    @Canacan,
    @Alex_xxx has suggested that desensitisation takes the form of ""dry" periods and, with that, I would agree. There is probably a bit more to it than that though.

    For me, desensitisation is quite simply the non-stimulation of those parts that are supposed to being stimulated in such a way that they fail to respond in a pleasurable way, due almost certainly to over-exposure to stimulation.

    For example, this morning I used the Helix Syn to produce about 45 minutes of continuous orgasmic response but after that, (because it was too cold or because I was too lazy), continuing the session for a further hour produced almost no responses because my system had become desensitised. I also know that if I attempted a similar session tomorrow, I probably wouldn't get off the starting block because I had overdone it this morning. I know full well that I now need to give my body a good two days rest before I can expect any worthwhile outcomes from the next session.

    Does that help?

    For me, I just end a session after about 40 minutes to an hour cuz I get a little soar. I put at least one day in between for that reason and because it is suggested. Also, I've found the best way for me to ramp up sensitivity to the subtle feelings is to reduce stimulation by not masturbating for a long while, but still having Aneros sessions. I'm trying once a week now, to see how it works for me. Before now, I went 20 days without masturbating or looking at porn, and the feelings got to where they were stronger and more frequent then they'd ever been before! It got to where each Aneros session was at least a little pleasurable without fail. Before this pleasure in sessions was kind of rare, but they were usually arousing.
