    Hi everyone,

    I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  I've just ordered an Aneros Helix and it should be in my hands in a few days!  I can't wait for what's in store!  I'm a young man in my late teens.  I discovered the Helix a few years ago by way of some internet videos.  After years of asking myself "Do I really want this?" I've made up my mind.  Some internet friends of mine recently bought their own and have really enjoyed their time with it.  So I finally saved up some dough and purchased my first one.

    I've read through all the forums and blogs and I just wanted to say that you guys seem awfully kind.  I've learned a lot from your posts and audio recordings, etc. and I'm excited to begin.

    I wonder why so few people my age know about these devices?  No matter, it seems like more younger folks are warming up to prostate play -- like me!

    Thanks for your assistance so far.  I look forward to what this journey has to offer (although I'm a student living with a roommate so it'll probably take me a longer time to really use this thing; disposable time is hard to come by).  But again, I am thrilled for what's in store and I'll let you know how things go!

    @pmjl, welcome.
    Have fun, enjoy the experience, laugh a lot, don't take it too seriously, lower expectations. Get the lube right, don't TRY to make it work, just allow the huge sex energy reserves you young guys have to carry you along. Be patient, it may take a while for your prostate to respond to the Aneros. I wish I had had this opportunity when I was young.

    @pmjl,
    Have you thought of letting your roommate in on your secret?
    You just might find that communication on this could help you both?!

    So do I!

    I'm not sure that I'm saying this correctly so I hope you (and my other compatriots) take this at face value. This came up in another discussion with a young neophyte. This Aneros experience is great and, while not habituating, has a tremendous amount of positive feedback going for it. It should not be a substitute for real companionship--sharing your life with someone in the fullest. If you find that you're "using" it to avoid personal interrelationships, please be wise and keep your use under control. As you can read in some of the other threads, Aneros use can be a very helpful adjunct to intimacy. Wishing you well...

    Thanks for the tips, folks.  I just got it in the mail today.  Can't wait to open it up and see what it can do.

    Had my first session tonight with the Helix.  I'm a bit confused.  I had it in for 7 hours total and mostly did the "do nothing" technique with some contractions every once in a while.  The end result:  some precum.  When I first put in the Aneros, I told myself I wouldn't have any expectations, I'd just go along for the ride whatever it would be.  For the most part I did that.  There were very few somewhat pleasant sensations and, as I said, a tiny bit of precum but aside from that and a little bit of fullness within my ass, it felt as though it wasn't even in; it also didn't seem to move much.  Do you guys have any suggestions, tips, etc.?  Was this what your first time using the Aneros was like?  Should I buy a bigger model?

    Thanks for any advice.

    A dud first session...? You're in good company here with that. You'll get loads of good advice from the vets on this forum, as I have had. Speaking for myself my first session was a complete let-down. I googled 'Aneros doesn't work' and ended up on this forum. That was last December, and I've recently had my first Super-O.
    For what it's worth, I think 7 hour sessions for a newbie is excessive, try 60-90 minutes sessions to start with, employ the 'do nothing' approach for the first quarter of an hour and hold some gentle contractions that last a minute or two then back of to do nothing, and keep repeating. If you get no feelings after 90 minutes, stop and put away for the day. Well that's how it worked for me.
    Use a non-water based lube, personally I recommend unrefined shea butter, as it stays slippery for ages.
    It won't be long before you get that first feeling that lifts your head off of the pillow and gets you thinking "What was that..?".
    Relax, be patient and keep the faith..!

    Thanks, I only went 7 hours 'cause I had so much time on my hands for the first time in a while.  I figured I many not have a lot of time to do this in the future (I'm a student and I with a roommate, now I'm at home on break).

    Does the lube really make all that much difference for people?

    @pmjl,
    In a word, YES!

    If you really went for seven hours straight without using any lube, I'm surprised you weren't sore as hell.

    Like @Bunk, I would recommend unrefined shea butter as your primary lube.

    @AneRico. I don't want to come across as offended in any way because I'm not, but I was just giving the benefit of my own experience. The light contractions are what started my involuntary spasms which in turn were the building blocks of my first dry-O. They were sort of a 'getting to know you' giving the Helix a light contact on the Prostate. And I do mean very light, like 10% or so.

    @Bunk, interesting and confirmes the point that we are so different. Slight contractions created spasms, that is what is happening to me at the moment. Also by breathing that little bit extra out I can trigger a spasm. So far they are either singles or a few quick ones. They also happen when I am sitting without an Aneros. I quite like them, so what did you do next?
    @pmjl, see there are different ways, just don't over stress the effort. May take a bit of time to workout the best approach.

    @isvara What I did after the spasms started was to do kegel exercises without the aneros. This is what eventually gave me my first dry orgasm. My anerosless sessions always lead my aneros sessions, in fact my first super-O was without the aneros..!

    @Pommie I used lube, not to worry.  But Bunk had suggested using a different kind and I was just wondering if the sort of lube used really makes that much of a difference.  I've heard differing opinions about this.

    To everyone else, thanks for the great advice.  Now that I think back there were some very mild enjoyable sensations.  I know that for a new user it's best to remove any expectations.  I tried my best to do so, but it's difficult.  I might try again tonight and see where this takes me.

    @pmjl, i think lube is very important.  If there is is not proper lube then the device cannot move freely and massage your prostate.  Water based lubes will dry out the quickest.  Natural oils last a long time as does shea butter.  Silicone lubes last a long time too but there may or may not be health concerns from long term use.

    Geeze man, adopting a siege mentality is not likely to yield results if a Super-O is your desired experience. IMHO, 7 hours is entirely too long an Anerosession unless you are in the throes of an enduring Super-O. I think about the only thing you accomplished was making your self bored. I fully understand (and sympathize with) your desire to experience the heightened orgasms reported here and elsewhere on the internet so I want to settle you down a little bit and introduce a modicum of reality into your fantasy. You've begun a journey into learning about your body and its potential for delivering immense pleasure but you won't learn this overnight or in marathon sessions. Each Anerosession will teach you a bit more and likely surprise you as well as long as you suspend any expectations as the other posters have already noted.
    I hope you don't fall prey to one of the Super-O Myths & Illusions that there is some magic formula for success because there isn't! Most men have to go through a process called a "prostate awakening" before they start to receive substantial pleasure from their massagers. This process happens gradually, at each man's unique pace, it can not be artificially accelerated and the rapidity of progress is closely allied with one's willingness to be open to these new sensations, a willingness to forgo 'control', a willingness to accept the vulnerability inherent to the act of being penetrated, as well as other factors.

    As the other posters noted, it is those small, subtle sensations you need to look for and focus on, those are the building blocks of your orgasm, without them your session will go nowhere and will just be a dud. This is where we need to talk about Are you "aroused"? Your Aneros massager is not a good arousal generator, however, it is a good arousal amplifier. What that means is that if you are tired, distracted, angry, bored, whatever emotional state you are in, if you are not feeling the longing, desire or urge for sexual/sensual satiation then sicking an Aneros up your butt is not going to accomplish much. However, if you are already aroused or 'horny', are feeling that electric surge of energy circulating throughout your body, the itch and craving for sensual stimulation, then you will find insertion of your massager is going to amplify those feelings as you begin the upward path of stimulation toward orgasm. This level of arousal follows no time line, so you can't really schedule a session beforehand and if you try to have sessions without that arousal, they are likely to be duds regardless of the amount of time you can dedicate to them. The dilemma here is to try and have high arousal periods coincide with available personal time schedules. A frequently mentioned method of generating arousal is through the use of pornography but that can have negative repercussions. Another method is to read erotic literature thus engaging your own imagination to enhance the effect. IMHO, the best arousal generator is a loving partner (suspending their own desires for a short period) who provides encouragement (mental/psychic stimulation) and physical touch (tactile stimulation) during your session. These are just a couple of ideas for generating high arousal levels, I'm sure you can think of numerous others but the point here is... You need to be well aroused before beginning your Anerosession for you to have a good chance for a successful session.

    Yes, please read through and follow the links provided in the introductory conversation I sent when you first joined, read through the Identifying Facilitators to Progress thread and perhaps also read the Aneros, Arousal & Abstinence thread.

    NO, not at this time, the Helix model is an excellent model to learn with, bigger is not necessarily better or more useful.

    I had some minor success last night.  I had the Aneros in for a few hours, not because I felt I had to but because the thing felt so nice.  There weren't any waves or anything like that, nothing too major yet, but I got some great sensations.  It was like an insistent prodding that resulted in quick feelings of deep, unexpected pleasure.  This happened any time I zoned out.  Lots of fun!  Not sure if there's a technical name for what this was, but who cares?  I'm happy to have felt anything during my second session, especially something so pleasing.

    A friend of mine bought me a Progasm Jr. recently.  I didn't really need it but whatever!  I haven't had a chance to use it but I'll report back as soon as I can.

    Hi @pmjl,

    Welcome to the Aneros Forum, and congratulations upon your getting the Helix. Can you tell us if you got the Helix Classic or Helix Syn? The Helix Classic comes in white plastic and is one of the original models in the Aneros line. The Helix Syn is more recent and is based upon the Helix Classic but has a softer silicone overlay. I began with the Helix Syn good twenty months ago but several months ago switched Helix Classic which has more rugged action. Both models are great.

    You are also going to enjoy Progasm Junior. It inserts easily and works fine on you.

    Look upon your Aneros sessions as a journey. You'll learn to relax and enjoy this journey immensely.

    Hi Thom.,

    Thanks for the feedback.  The version I got was the
    Classic Helix.  I'm very excited to try out the new toy; it should be
    arriving shortly!  Again, I'll report back.  Thank you once more for the
    advice.

    So, just a quick update... This is a testament to what an incredible device the Aneros is. I've only used my Helix a few times and the Progasm Jr. once. Yet even though I'm inexperienced, I think I'm starting some sort of awakening period--It's been a long while since my last session but I think I'm breaking through something here. Just recently, I've noticed that if I ever even think about my prostate I begin to have really nice feelings just out of the blue. I've heard about it before but I didn't know this phenomenon could happen so suddenly. This will tide me over while I'm away from my toys, that's for sure.

    Thinking about your prostate will waken it, I've had this and continue to have this as well. Don't understand it myself, but its great.

    i was the guy that was baring down HARD thinking i was doing well, try that for years and see what it does for you (don't!) keep going dude

    I'm 56, been married 28 years, and am only now discovering how horny my wife really is!  Thanks @rumel, for underscoring that a partner provides perhaps the best source of arousal.  When she's away, the things that are second best for me are athletic activity and accomplishing concrete tasks.  These things are not overtly sexual, but I have found that they are highly sexually charged nevertheless, in a hidden way.  Porn is totally useless for me.

    @pmjl - Despite your youth, you have wisely skipped over the major initial hurdles that many struggle with on this journey.  Congrats, and keep posting from time to time -- your perspectives and experiences will be much appreciated here!

    @pmjl: I have two comments. Your biggest obstacle as a teenager is going to be PATIENCE. No offense, but patience wasn't my strong suit as a teenager. Nor was it a strong suit of many other teenagers I know. And I'm guessing, in today's world, quick information and feedback is about the only way teenagers know how to do anything. SOOOOO, don't rush, don't have expectations, let it takes months or years to develop if need be, don't push anything, don't overdo it, and just ENJOY the SESSIONS for what they are.

    Secondly, the fact that you are starting to feel a connection to your prostate is a good sign. I can have pleasant feelings without my Aneros in at all, and it's GREAT. I love it. It helps me when having sex, when going to bed, or on a trip in the car. I think you are going to do well if you don't lose sight of comment #1 above. :)

  • Take it slow and easy,don't expect too much too soon.Enjoy each session for what it is
    and not what you expect.Easier said than done,I know.It will happen when you least expect.
