    Hello Folks, :)

I found this video recently of a gal called Betty Dodson that teaches women how to have orgasms. And holds group and private sessions to do so.

While I've heard of this sort of thing before. It kind of blew my mind to actually see it, and reminded me somewhat of Darwin's post about his Body Electric School experience.

I have to wonder if this sort of thing is more popular with women than it is with men. And if women have less issues with having another woman touch them in such an intimate way. I would love to hear people's thoughts about this. Particularly our treasured women forum users. Is learning to orgasm really that much more difficult for women that classes like this become necessary? Is this more about puritanical cultural training, or just about differences in personalities and body responses?

  • Would love to find somewhere like that where men could share their sexuality in groups and have group Aneros sessions.VERY EXCITING.

To me perhaps the most interesting aspect of that session was how little the student seemed to know about her body and its responses. Near the end Dodson asked her if she didn't think her vagina was beautiful, and she answered that she didn't really think it was attractive.
I suspect that this is very common, at least in our society, and could be at least partly responsible for some of the sexual dysfunction we see. We males have been curious from the earliest time and couldn't keep our hands off our junk, while many girls are raised to think that place down there is dirty or somehow bad. Subconscious remnants of these thoughts linger for years.

    Hello Woodsman, :)

While I can understand to a certain extent her not knowing her body's sexual responses, it also surprised me that she didn't know what the different parts of her vagina were and where they were located. I suppose for women it's probably not exactly instinctual to hold up a mirror to their vagina's so they can see and identify all their bits and pieces. Probably no more so than it is for me to hold up a mirror to see my anus, which I've yet to have done. And maybe that plays a lot into it that for men our genitalia is completely exterior and easy to view, where as this is not the case for woman.

    I chuckled though as I watched because I realized that while I as a man was likely not the intended viewer, I learned some new techniques! ;) Now if I only had a woman to practice with... {sigh}

The Body Electric site was interesting to me in that a lot of what is taught here ( energy, body centered orgasms, non penis-centered pleasures, seem to be covered in the video. I do think it would be hard for a straight guy to do one of these sessions. As for myself, being bisexual would have no problems and I think I could learn from the encounter.
  • Rickg, when I read your post I wanted to say "It wouldn't be hard for THIS straight guy to do one of those session." Then I watch the video.

You are right. This video put me in touch with my latent homophobia, that I work very hard to deny. That said, while a session like that would be difficult, I can see how beneficial it could be. All of what they spoke of is exactly what my Aneros use is about.

    Thanks for sharing the website.

In so many ways it is getting away from the penis-centered, quickie, type of orgasm which males tend to favor. Those ideas are similar to the Aneros philosophy. (?).
  • My desire with Aneros has opened my head in my ways I never thought before. I love not being so penis-cum-hard-centered & having these long never-ending orgasms!

LOL That's all part of learning about ourselves. :D That's one of the reasons I brought this up, is to see if straight women have less issue with this sort of thing than straight men would. Obviously the gay, bi, and really open minded men have little to no issue with it. I know I couldn't do it. But I recognize that for some people these types of one on one, or group in person sessions would be very helpful. Which made me question whether a group Aneros training session could actually be useful and helpful. As we've had over the years a number of men looking for that sort of thing. And generally the consensus, including myself, has been that this would not be helpful. Besides the fact that anyone running or joining this sort of group session would have to have gotten past any homophobic issues.

Love, I think that is the problem as some guys would fear that it would turn into something that they were uncomfortable with the outcome. I get the feeling that the sessions in this video for BodyElectric are very structured and and orgy is not going to be permitted under any circumstances. I think the same thing would have to be the guidelines for a group Aneros session. Now what happens after the formal sessions are over ( in their individual rooms) is anybodys guess.???????? I do wish that I could have coaching using the Aneros as it is one thing to read and watch videos, it is another to have someone tell you what you are doing right or wrong. This is all JMHO.
  • I think Aneros coaching could be done in an environment that is sufficiently clinical to help folks overcome such concerns. I can imagine men, separated by curtains each practicing while a coach works with them.

I've heard about Dr. Dodson's work before as I (along with my class) had to watch some of her video's/documentaries about orgasm and human sexuality. It was extremely interesting, especially being in a crowd of 500 students, gay, straight, male and female, having to watch so many deep and sexually centered issues. This class was by far the best I have ever taken, and it was a mix of history sexuality and the different variations in sexuality among animals and humans... I get jealous of women because they can actually have such freedom to do things like this, and actually explore their bodies in such intimate, yet focused ways. Men used to be this way, according my class, yet we've really taken a giant step back. Most (not all) men would think of it something homosexual/gay to be doing such things together, and the idea of keeping us separated by curtains and turning a session like this into some sort of trip to a doctor would really be distracting... the whole point of aneros is feeling the vibrations, being euphoric, and taking a back seat to watch and see what the male body can do. I believe that when males were to experience another male go into multiple orgasmic mode, their bodies could react and follow suit, energy is energy; our bodies could only benefit from something so good as orgasm, if only (like when it comes to aneros) we leave our egos at the door....

wow how great , its great that women can be so open minded and know the emotional differences and are not held back by notions guys have when they may have such sessions like this is gay ect but it aint its great they embrace things as a group. Its also true women are held back by old notions of sex and gender like you where all saying its a bad dirty thing to express themselves on there own sexual as guy have known it isnt its really healthy. That video is great to highlight points, also very useful for us dudes to take onboard tips to please women in the right way :)
