Swap Shop your Aneros
  • Would anyone be interested in swapping a _ model for a _ model? Is this insane? Like if I had a Helix, would you be interested in swapping for a Maximus?
Maybe this would be banned on here? Any thoughts are welcome!

Don't want to rain on someones parade; however, comma ..................

Two of us in Chat were discussing mods to Aneros toys and the question of surface porosity in modified toys came up. We discussed ways to polish out those fine pores and reseal the surface. No major conclusions and recommendations were achieved.

Thinking was that modifications disturb the surface and may provide 'harborages' for bacteria.

As long as it's your own bacteria, it's perhaps not all that bad. If it's someone else's bacteria that might be a bit different.

So the suggestion for modified toys would be: "investigate and carry out some protocol for sterilization that's compatible with acetal, polystyrene or Silicone."

Health and hygene are a major factor.
All models would have to be steralised .
Might be an idea to use a condom as well.

    Postage is a factor.
Not too bad if you are in the same country.

Too much trouble with customs and excise if you are in a different part of the world.
The package might get stolen or impounded.
Worth thinking about but a lot of problems.
  • I'm interested in buying a used:

    Helix
    Peridise

No trade, only have the MGX so far.

    Guys,

I would strongly discourage anyone from "swapping", selling or exchanging used Aneros products. This is a very bad idea. It is possible for microorganisms to persist on the surfaces of these items even with sanitizing measures. Given that hepatitis and numerous bacterial pathogens can be spread by fecal contaminants, it's simply not worth the risk.

This is one instance where second-hand is not as good as new!

  • I will check with a nurse friend of mine about using something like clorox to soak the anerous in, surely that would kill any microorganisms or bacterial pathogens that would be on the surface or even in the subsurface. Can an anerous be microwaved?
  • Ok, here's the official good word from my nurse friend, "Clorox soaking for 24 hours will kill anything that might be contagious on any aneros model", so guys feel free to sway or trade if these precautions are taken!

What percentage solution would this be and could this possibly damage the Aneros?
  • She said around 25-50 % and I would not think so...

While not a popular idea here for obvious reasons, I think this has possibilities.
  • not a fan of the idea. just my 0.02

You're more than welcome. I wonder what would kill Hepatitis B & C then? Some type of medical grade disinfectant?
  • Jeeze, guys, USED ANEROS??? Really? Come on, the price for new toys is just not that high, and you can be sure it's clean and for your use only. I'm with B Mayfield here, for sure. Let's get real. Buy new ones, be safe, and enjoy. Many suppliers on eBay provide Aneros models at very reasonable prices.

Swapping anal toys is just not a good idea, no matter what you soak them in.
