Hitting a plateau?
  • Hi guys,

    Long time reader and casual user, first time poster. I have a Helix, Progasm, and MGX, but lately have been concentrating on the Progasm. I love the full feeling and the minimal effort required. Lately, I do the following:

    -Lube (internal and external) and insertion
    -Relaxation - deep breathing, contracting/relaxing every body muscle, concentrating on relaxing all anal cavity muscles;
    -Very light contractions, starts a nice full-body warmpth radiating from my prostate;
    -25% contractions, which rapidly turn into involuntary anal spasms.

    Here's where I get stuck. During the spasms, my whole body tenses up and the pleasure is pretty good - but it hits a plateau. Compared to a traditional release orgasm, it feels maybe 40-50% of the max pleasure. I can hold that position and feeling for a short time, but eventually my anal muscles start to have stronger, longer contractions.

    At that point, I fully relax my anal cavity. I haven't been able to get back to the involuntary session, possibly due to being too worked up and not wanting to take the time and get back. Usually, I'm really hot and turned on, then i finish with a traditional release, but it feels great with the extra pressure on my p-spot.

    Any ideas on how I can get over that plateau?

    Hello prizel -- welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have the basics well in hand and are getting some good vibes back from that Progasm. Congrats !!!

    Suggest:
    -- forget that 40-50%. that honestly looks like "an expectation." Be accepting and receive with joy what Dame Progasm delivers -- look for nothing more.
    -- are you sufficiently relaxed that just your breathing will move the Progasm? If not, try entering yourself with 10-15 minutes of pure Zazen meditation but be horizontal rather than sitting as in standard Zazen. Then add the Progasm to your meditation focus.
    -- Try the ramp-up phase with smaller contractions and be acutely sensitive for the smallest echos or involuntaries.
    -- Bring some alternative stim points into your ramp-up (nips etc..

    Hello Prizel,

    And welcome to the Aneros forums. :)

    Good advice from rook. One other thing I'd add is not have a traditional ejaculatory orgasm (super-T) at the end of every Aneros session. Keep it as a once in a while thing. Your trying to train your body to find pleasure in the prostate and anus, not your penis. Try to also practice some ejaculatory abstinence. This pent up arousal can help with pushing your Aneros sessions forward. See the following popular thread:

  • I'm in about the same area right now. I noticed that I'm lacking this extreme shaking I've seen on several videos by now which is basically what gets them over the top. At some point in my session I can feel the aneros do it's dance and I can also feel P-waves building up in different strenghts. I'll lose them all at some point, though. However I'm very carefully about not being disappointed by that fact because they already do feel pretty great. Usually I'll just relax for some seconds and start it again but even after 1.5h I won't push over a certain level. Then when I decide to end my session I do this one last full contraction and try to hold it as long as possible and that's usually where my best wave is about to start. I'm not sure if that's a super-O or not but it feels a lot better than the others and has a plateau (sometimes more pronounced than at other times) but it's still different from what I've seen on videos and from what people describe.

    And yeah I can definitely recommend not finishing or traditionally every time.

    For what it's worth, I've had incredible dry orgasms with and without an aneros but have never had that intense body shaking. Don't worry about not having these. People's bodies react differently. Also, don't try too hard to classify the feelings. Take pleasure in what comes your way.
  • Interesting! Yesterday (what a coincidence) I somehow managed to get so turned on by an aneros vid that I had this extreme shake without even using the device. When I put it in, the shaking slightly increased in strength and duration but again didn't build up more than earlier sessions. I'd even go thus far to say that it was kinda distracting at times.
    Anyways, in theory it feels like I'm doing everything right. I'm properly aroused, I'm only focusing on the different feelings in my pelvic area, I'm not contracting too hard or anything but I'll just loose all my waves at some point like a rope that slips from my hands.

    I'd like to "do more" with my breathing but I've tried so many techniques, they all either distract me or even lead to a stitch. From what I've seen on the video it clearly seemed like the guy had a pattern, though.

    Hey grayfox,

    Must have been the moon this last weekend for all of us!

    We all follow different paths on this journey and dtm's comments reflect my current experience, nearly spot-on.

    Heavy leg shaking might not be your thing at this point in your journey. Here's my experience on "bypassing" the more typical stuff:

    In mid-2009 I had a month where my brief mini-Os included staccato shaking in one or more centers but rarely in more than one limb at the same time. Sort of "junior versions" of what one sees on xTube from the whole-body guys who go max physical; however I was incapable of developing them into much action. Those went away as I developed into a sort of calm-seas approach with gentle stim, music, and careful maneuvering to avoid triggering migraine. (lot of pussy-footing about. Also, some train-wrecks.) I developed two different Super-O paths, Both visual. One is celestial/spiritual and the other with real-world images which appear after heavy vocalization to drive the dry-Os. As with other Orgasms the visual world has its has spontaneous O's. No point going in to those here.

    Until this last weekend, that was the limit of my orgasmic world.

    I had often wondered why I didn't have industrial-strength physical action to accompany my orgasms but dismissed this shortcoming as "probably age related;"

    This last weekend I got aroused during Aneros Chat where artform, dtmsmith, and others were into advanced energy management and putting on quite a skill-show. Meanwhile the full moon guys were getting ready for their moment. All heavy stuff for me and eventually it went well beyond my level of understanding. Out of jealousy, I got a Helix session going and got into riding dry-O shakes that cycled automatically for over two hours. Repeated them the next day. The orgasm was canal-prostate centered and the physicals were in both arms, both legs and my abs. Attempts to flex any of the affected large muscles increased the tremor into major spastic shakes. I was unable to type. The orgasmic pleasure was great. The physical action was interesting but, not something that brought joy. These were just chained dry-Os, not a Super-O. So, I don't know where this might take me or what the Super-O would be like. I was so locked into the dry orgasms that an attempt to cum in a Fleshlight took 3 minutes of steady stroking to shift my brain from dry to traditional!

    So, been there with the heavy shakes -- a bend in the road that I'd missed in 2009. I'll definitely repeat this to see how the Super-O might look/feel. Ive been able to reflect on the weekend enough that I've got a couple of ideas on triggering the transition. (possibly some simultaneous flexes of the involved large muscles but it might be just something more simple with the Helix.)

    Bottom line: I stumbled on some subtle sensation that I'd "bypassed" early in my journey. The session had been 'difficult to start' because I had skipped all of my prep, had over-lubed and had bypassed my meditation. I got rough with Helix and my bod paid me back with a rough but educational ride.

    So, it's probably worthwhile to vary how one ramps up into a session and stays alert to the nuisances that signal where the knobs, switches, and handles are. It's spotting those hand-holds and opportunities that can open the door to something new. So, omit douche for a session, Skip serious meditation for a session. See what that yields.

    I've never gone "over the top" into a Super-O. The Super-O unfolds and visits it's blessing upon me right after a gentle stim of some seemingly insignificant target. (I get into the foto-image Super-O after driving dry-Os by heavy, wake-the-dog vocalization then some gentle nip-work.) I stumbled across the vocalization bit strictly by accident. -- I spoke and felt something faint. I spoke louder and felt more. I vocalized a loud deep cry and generated a dry-O. I think something similar will be the case with my own physical shakes. There will be some small trigger, either in the Helix-to-brain loop or in the brain-to-muscle side. Meanwhile the "ride" is novel.

    Suggestion -- don't push yourself over the top, it probably won't work. Look instead for something insignificant. Sort of like moving boulders with a lever rather than one's own shoulder. Just tip things a bit and let the rock roll down the hill. Have gud vibes guy!
