E-Stim question: EMS units
  • Does anyone have any experience using an EMS unit (not a TENS unit) in conjunction with the Aneros? I've barely scratched the surface of the e-stim literature and am mostly still confused, but an immediate thought was: "Could EMS be used to jump-start involuntaries with the Aneros?" A pad on either side of the perineum, between the p-tab and anus could be used to induce gentle, rapid PC contractions. If anyone has had success with this, is there a commercial unit you would recommend? I have no aptitude for electrical engineering, so DIY is not an option.

There is a thread with lots of info on this called "Hesitating to post this but..." Bad title, right? They even have a Helix modified to be a stim electrode. Interesting stuff.us
  • *Bump* No response on smartstim, and as I'm asking about its use with the Aneros, it makes more sense that I should seek an answer here. I think more Aneros forum folk have tried estim than vice versa. I'm asking if anyone has tried a regular EMS externally in conjunction with a regular Aneros. My budget is limited, so I think I would buy a second Aneros before trying electrostim, unless combining the two is especially effective.

Hi La petite mort!! :D :D

Perhaps the most used e-stim unit here is the Slightest Touch Electronic Orgasm Enhancement . Very mild and a unique signal type. Very simple to use and maintain. When you purchase, you can download a special pdf document guide for male users written by an Aneros Expert.

We have one, primarily for mrs. a. It is originally designed for women. I have used it and had some fun with it once or twice, but cannot say that it has been a significant tool in advancing my practice. Your experience with it could be very different, as all our journeys here are unique.

    La petite mort,

I've always advised against anyone applying electrical current directly to their prostate. If the idea is to modify the Aneros such that it will do that it, I would not recommend it. I am fully aware that there are already products (in essence electrodes) made specifically for this purpose and that this practice is popular in E-stim circles, but in my book it is a rather aggressive way to seek gratification. It's also something that carries some risk along with it. What kind of risk? Nerve damage for one. Bear in mind that many of the stim modules on the market are nothing more than re-purposed tens units, originally intended for pain relief. That's right, electrical current particular high level, high frequency electrical current is stimulating in the short term, but quickly desensitizes thereafter, that's the reason that these units have been so useful for pain relief! Because of this one must increasingly turn up the intensity to perceive any sensation, this is where it can get you into dangerous territory. I've written on this subject extensively in the past, and if you do a search on "tens" you should find some of the earlier threads.

As a lesser concern you should know that any modification like this would completely void the manufacturer's warranty on the product (and free them from any responsibility for damages too).

Is there a safe level of direct current application? Possibly. But at the present time, there is no company that I've heard of that has a reputation that I would trust, that has done any real research on this. At this point it's a bunch of people doing this by the seat of their pants. Btw. I've been to a lot of expos and trade shows over the years and I've seen a lot product and some of it is downright scary.

With respect to the Slightest Touch, it is a device that uses low intensity electrical stimulation on external areas of the body to produce arousal. Here's a thread on the Slightest Touch.

    La petite mort,

'B Mayfield' makes a good point about the potential for causing temporary, if not permanent, damage to the nerves around the prostate utilizing adapted TENS units when directed specifically at the prostate. A similar caution should also apply to EMS units. However, I think there is the possibility that EMS units could be utilized to aid in the generation of involuntary muscle contractions if the stimulation is specifically directed at the anal sphincter muscles and NOT the prostate itself.

This is a relatively new area of experimentation. There are electrified 'butt plug' products on the market, but these are not designed to act as prostate massagers except in a very tangential manner. There are hand held electrified prostate stimulators that some of our members have used and reported about but these have the disadvantage of requiring manual intervention. There is also a commercially available electrified 'prostate probe' but I don't recall reading any reviews of its use by this membership. Since E-Stimming is a rather niche fetish practice, I think it is unlikely we will see any significant scientific study or investigation of specific techniques or procedures which would be of benefit to the Aneros using community. Of course there are always those intrepid, curious investigators, such as yourself, who take it upon themselves to experiment, develop and document these new technologies to share with the rest of us.

  • Thanks Rumel, it appears you're the only one who read my post:
[QUOTE=La petite mort;87814]I'm asking if anyone has tried a regular EMS externally in conjunction with a regular Aneros.

I was thinking about mild external EMS stimulation to help induce involuntaries - no TENS, no prostate zapping, no apparent danger. It would also be interesting to use on its own to strengthen PC and/or anal muscles. Unfortunately, the $20 DIY stereo-stim would not be able to function as an EMS.

If I do experiment with this, I'll be sure to share the results. However, if it comes down to EMS vs. progasm, I think the progasm would give me more "bang" for my buck.
  • I must admit, the 60-day satisfaction guarantee for the slightest touch is very appealing... The price tag is a bit high, though. I'm too easily tempted at the prospect of new toys. :P

    Le petite mort,

Please forgive me, I did indeed misread your post. I pride myself on answering question directly, and unfortunately on this one I muffed it. (Part of it was that I read the post and responded to it at two different times...I guess my mind just filled in the blanks in the interim).

On the Slightest Touch, yes it is a bit pricey, but you don't want to invest in cheap gear on this one if you're going to do it all. If you want some more information on it, check out the thread that I linked to previously. In addition to that you can check out the Keys to the Backdoor to Ecstasy sticky too (my post is called I Sing the Body Electric) . If you're still curious about it, I can send you a copy of the owner's manual that was created for men who are using the Aneros.

As you say, there are so many products to choose from. The Progasm is another terrific product as well. Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Haha, no problem B. With your outstanding record as a source of wisdom here, I think you're allowed a minor "muff" from time to time.

I did some research, and the Slightest Touch no longer appeals to me - 1) It does not seem effective for men 2) ST seems to have abysmal customer service (check out reviews on smartstim) 3) If I do decide to get into electrostim, there are more versatile, more powerful units that cost less.
