    Greetings All

I have been using the Helix model for a few months about every week and a half or so. Things have definitely improved since I first started using it; my awareness and feeling of the prostate and things in that area has increased quite nicely. No Super-O yet but plenty of minis and involuntary contractions.

I have noticed something sort of odd lately. I feel like the head of the Helix does not hit the prostate unless I turn the p-tab to the right side of my perineum. As many of you are aware of the line in the skin that divides the center, I find myself having to constantly move it so it is on the right side of the line. It is quite distracting and happens in many different positions.

Has anyone else noticed something like this happening? I am starting to think I need to get a different model. Maybe the Progasm, with its larger head it would probably cover the spot better.

(I should also mention I sliced the back handle off of the Helix. Don't think it makes a difference with the issue at hand though.)

Welcome O Face Guy to the Forum! :D

Interesting problem you describe. The p-tab is generally physically pushing up from the outside on your penis bulb, Cowper's and prostate and effecting the contact position as the head of your aneros contacts the prostate area of your rectal muscle wall, as well as "anchoring" the aneros as it moves against your prostate.

It may just be that your rectum is slightly offset to the left as that part of your foetal body was taking its final shape or that the p-tab lift of those organ is shifting things "offside" if the p-tab is centred or to the left itself.

As to the repositioning distraction, some use washers, some towel material and other cushioning materials if they are getting to strong a p-tab pressure. Perhaps something like that would act as a position stabilizer for you. Or perhaps your p-tab is not making sufficient contact. Mine embeds itself fairly deep in the tissue without causing pain and does not move unless I completely change positions. Anyone else have this or similar condition?

all the best with your unique journey of exploration here

    Artform;

Thanks for the reply. I find that the P-tab on the Helix barely touches my perineum. I don't feel any external pressure or contact on the penis bulb and Cowper's gland. I also have an SGX that I got when I first heard about Aneros, and the P-tab on that thing actually contacts quite comfortably (the rest of the unit is too short however and doesn't quite hit anything internal). If the Helix was built with that style P-tab, it would probably work perfectly for me.

Next time I will try putting a small cloth or something to keep it in the right spot. I feel like I may move up to the Progasm when finances allow.

    Very good O Face Guy!

You might also find the bigger longer MGX more successful. It was my first model and exclusive for almost the first year. It is a very flexible "training wheels" model and has a p-tab more like the SGX you've had success with at that end.

I have never used a traditional Progasm, butt very highly recommend the new Progasm Ice!!! :D

onward with a life changing journey all

Indicating that we are all a different physically, I have a near opposite experience. For me, the SGX is light in its peri contact while the Helix aggressively "digs in." I always use the 'medicine dropper bulb' mod on the Helix to increase contact area. (See Wiki) Since it's a 15-cent mod you might give it a try. Good news is that's not 'permanent, like heating/bending the p-arm.

You might also try stuffing various amounts of fill/packing into the dropper bulb to adjust and degree of 'dig' you receive. Your idea to use a cloth pad on the outside of the dropper bulb may also stop lateral skidding.

Thanks newbie2009, I may try that out when I get a chance.

O Face Guy, I have the same experience at times with the Helix. It feels as though it is hitting my prostate on the right side rather than in the center.

I can often change this by using the stem of the Helix and manually moving the Helix back to center of my prostate. Sometimes this works, sometimes not.

I wonder if some feces has entered my rectum and is lodging between the Helix and the wall of the rectum? Having a totally empty rectum is essential for me to be able to really relax and enjoy the journey. Unfortunately, even if I start with an empty rectum my colon will decide to empty something into my rectum and interrupt the journey.

I have noticed this too, and it can get pretty annoying. I feel like this also might have to do with the amount or type of lube being used. I read somewhere (probably in another post) that some lubes can have a laxative effect. I find that the first hour or so of the session seems to be very good, then things start to taper off.

I do feel that the real issue for me is having to keep turning it back to the right side. I'd probably get much better feelings in a shorter amount of time if I didn't have to do that. I am going to try newbie2009's suggestion about the dropper bulb. Updates to come.

Couple of things that may help.

From about the 3rd "journey session" I learned to like a lot of fluid lube. The 4-6 ounces of pre-rinse enema was excessive even though I thought I was expelling it all. That, after the first hour, water would work it's way down and dulute the lube -- leading me to increase the amount of KY or ID-Glide which in turn triggered "gastric distress." .... a vicious circle.

Solution was two-fold. J4 and Love_is got me by the horns and wrestled me off water-based lube. I made the move to straight Shea Butter -- not as convenient as KY or ID-glide but worth the effort. I also cut back on pre-rinse to 2-3 ounces, max. Sometimes, just foregoing an enema--particularly if it's a couples session without an MMO objective. YMMV.

This works because I swallow a moderate dose of fiber, at the same time each day. That leads to very predictable (and complete) bowel movements so there's a decreased need for pre-rinse. Planning ahead and avoiding a healthy meal of chili-beans or other gassy foods is also a help.

All this may seem very regimented but it works for me. Perhaps it's just my anal personality showing.

Newbie, I have been thinking of trying the shea butter. Either that or this coconut oil I have around the house. I have been using ID Millenium, but I never felt like it was really all it's hyped up to be. It's way too filmy. Even though they claim that it stays slick when water gets on it, it still feels strange to me. I used to use the Astroglide gel, which was good stuff. If you mixed it with a drop or two of hot water it got ultra slick, but eventually you could wash it off cleanly with a lot of hot water.

I also have never pre-rinsed or anything, I just empty out and then get right to it. I feel like the enema adds too much of a clinical feel to the whole situation and harshes my vibe. If it weren't for the fact that I clean up everything, I would just do it right in the bed so I can relax right from the beginning.

I have three words Enema toilet seat :D Pre-rinse is nothing more than a 4-5 minute visit to the bathroom. It is crazy expensive, but I would certainly do it all over again. I'm not always regular, that doesn't matter anymore. I can have a session at any time of the day. If you are a regular guy then the seat may not be that big of a deal.

For lube use Rumel's ’Natural Jelly’
Rumel if you could find a manufacturer/distributor for that, you would be rich!

I haven't tried pure shea butter, or pure coconut oil but imagine they would work better than water based lubes for longer sessions (2-3+ hrs).

A related poll: Do you enema first?

    Enjoy the journey,
    Marty

I'm glad you mentioned the penis bulb (I guess it's also called the bulb of penis or bulbus penis). I didn't realize the Aneros also stimulated the penis bulb. It is my understanding that the penis bulb and perineum may be close to being one and the same. Am I correct in that assumption? I want to know more about the penis bulb and its functions and it is hard to find information about it online.
  • You can try using a rubber bulb off of an eyedropper to cushion the P tab on the Helix. It also adds just a little length for better perineum contact.

BTW, if you look for an eyedropper it will be in the 'Eye and Ear' section of the drugstore. The folks in the pharmacy didn't even know they had any eyedroppers.

As for the one side issue, for the first several months I had to position the P tab left of center but lately (with the Eupho) it seems right of center works as well or better. Perhaps all of that area has become more sensitive with practice.
