Traveling With Aneros

I am on my way to a cross country move next week, and was hoping to take atleast one of my two Aneros models with me. However, Im worried about the x rays at airports. I am traveling with a family member, and would find it very unusual if I was forced to stand aside because my Aneros looks like something they havent seen before.

Has anyone traveled with a model before? If so, how do you have it in your bag?

I've travelled without incident with it just sitting in my carry-on hand baggage. Can't you check it if you're concerned?

    Nat,

The simple solution is to wear some baggy pants for the trip, go into one of the unsecured area restroom stalls, take the Aneros out of you carry-on bag and put one in each pocket, and proceed through the security check metal detectors. Since the Aneros is not metal it will not set off the detectors and since they are not in your bag, no one will see them there. After you've gone through the security screening you can easily find another restroom in the passenger boarding area, enter a stall and put them back in your bag. I have yet to see anyone get “patted down” in the security screening process, so I think you are safe there as well. No one will be any wiser for the little switch.

That depends on where you are. I am patted down for regional flights all the time! In Canada, it's standard procedure to have random frisks, or even regular frisks depending on the city or if the staff is new.

Here they have you take everything out of your pockets before going through the detector. Im not worried about security seeing it. Im just worried about them calling me over because they dont know what it is, and the family member seeing it.

    Nat,

Just check your bag through at the ticket counter then as 'rainstomp' suggested, no worries about family members seeing it that way or for you to be quizzed about it either.

How about inserting it where it does the most good? Nobody will look for it in your ass. Of course if you are taking more than one with you, you will need to recruit help.

I dont know ... maybe I just shouldnt take it. I just dont want to have to explain why Im checking my bags differently then her, or have to explain myself if hey pull me over.
  • Don't worry about the airport security. Just tell them what it is if they ask. I was more worried about if they would TAKE mine or not, so I brought the SGX and a medium sized Peridise with me.

oh yeah.................I'm going to have a SGX super o-soon I almost had one this morning. FULL BODY CONVULTIONS (and that is without the peidise) 8)

I really don't see it as a problem. You own it. It's not very usable as an improvised weapon. It sufficiently resembles a dildo that your explanation of what it's for should make sense to any adult.

I prefer the assertive, straight forward, TMI approach with TSA.

I had some pre-boarding anxiety when I first started carrying a Trimix vial and syringes through security.

When asked, "what is this for?" ...I'd look 'em right in the eye and say, "I inject my penis with this substance to cause an erection for sex.? Here's a copy of my prescription!" (I was very discrete and didn't point to my crotch while speaking.) :D

Three years ago, I had to do that on most trips. More recently TSA has quit even asking.

You might 'frost the cake' by carrying along a disposable glove to offer the inspector wanting to handle it since, "This has been up my ass." ;)

I love it! Newbie2009, thank you for my morning laugh :) You can never go wrong with the straight forward professional approach.

Nat, they have you empty your pockets so you don't set off the metal detector. If you are 100% sure you don't have any metal on you or your clothes (wear a t-shirt & sweat pants and take your shoes off), then Rumel's idea would work well; put them in your pockets and walk on through.

Nat, do you check in any luggage at the counter? Or do you take everything on the plane as carry-on?
