For men here who take fish oil

I've noticed in a lot of posts here that many posters are taking fish oil, and it's helping with enjoyment. This is making me think that I am right--that the same physiological state, the same neurotransmitter and hormonal balance that women need for vaginal orgasms is the same state men need for prostate orgasms.

I'm not the most convincing advocate for this, being the author, but I do strongly recommend that those men buy my book, The Orgasmic Diet. I've been researching this for years, with lots of feedback from women (and men). The thing is, if fish oil is helping, then there is more men can do to improve the results. For example, eating polyunsaturated vegetable oil will interfere with the effect of the fish oil. My book goes into detail about the balancing act necessary to stay in the vaginal orgasm zone, with practical suggestions and feedback from women trying the diet. The diet is the same for men except men shouldn't take iron supplements, and also of course men should use the Aneros instead of the Gyneflex.

I've posted my full diet several times in this forum in abbreviated form, so it's not like I'm being proprietary and trying to force people to buy my book. When I posted it, there were recommended dosages, drug interaction warnings, etc. On the one hand, when men here read that fish oil will help, the natural tendency is to take the amount recommended on the bottle, which is usually much too low to affect sexuality. On the other hand, there is a real danger in taking too much fish oil, it can cause blood thinning, and even taking the dosages I recommend it is important to check for drug interactions, etc. High-dose fish oil is not a placebo, it has definite physiological effects.
  • Hi Zane,
I have purchased you book and use it regularly. When I change brands of fish oil, and the dosage changes, I always check to make sure I keep it to the correct dosage for my weight.

I'm fortunate that I don't have to take any types of other medications at all.

The fish oil alone has really helped my libido and sense of well being, as well as many other things which I have posted here before.

I would like to thank you personally for you wonderful contributions here on this forum, and your book! :D

I am new here and I take 4000 mg of fish oil daily by doctor's orders. I had no idea it had anything to do with sexuality or psychology. Since you have written about this on this site, what should I look for to find info about it? Just search "fish oil?"

At any rate, the main point here is to thank you for making your post.

"4000 mg of fish oil" is actually rather meaningless, because the concentration of omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil varies widely by brand. The important thing is how much EPA and DHA are you taking?

Here's my most recent post of the diet. I think I've posted variations of it a dozen times on the boards.

    http://www.aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=13129#13129

I left out--don't go over the dosage for a 250-pound man (even if you weigh more) unless you are under a doctor or nutritionist's supervision.

    Hi Zane!

    I hope you are well!

As always, thanks for the additional information!

I actually sprung for the hard-back of your excellent book from Amazon and will give a
testimonial as well, when I am well on my way with it . . .

Guess I will discontinue "Silk" ???

Thank you for buying my book!

You should definitely stop eating tofu, soy milk and soy energy bars, unless you are trying to decrease libido. The only people who should eat those things are women going through menopause who want relief from hot flashes, etc, and don't want to go on bioidentical hormone treatment.

You asked about the amount of EPA and DHA I am taking. I have no idea how much is "good" or "too much." I looked it up and it says I am getting 4 grams of each or 12% of whatever the government says is the daily amount. My cardiologist started me on it for heart problems because I cannot tolerate the statin family of drugs. I also do not know if I gain anything from that dose for sexual stimulation. I have more time today, and I will start looking for your previous posts for help. Thanks for answering and pointing me in the right direction.

    Phil

P.S. I weigh 215 and I am on a very low cholesterol/triglyceride diet which I follow well. I guess, from reading your URL that I take more than you recommend, but since my cardiologist placed me on it, I will stick to it. Just to take fewer pills, I use 1.000 mg. size to get the 4,000 mg. he prescribed.

There is no RDA for fish oil. Check the label, it should list amount of EPA and DHA per capsule. Sometimes the serving size is two capsules, so check for that.

You take much less than I recommend.

I thought I did list the DHA/EPAand not RHA. I go to the doctor tomorrow. Do you mind telling me how much you suggest so I can discuss it with her? My gel capsules are 1,000 mg.
  • Heya Zane I'm glad to say I have tried out your diet recomendations and they work great for me and I think the fish oil is especially effective.
I don't agree with you on the iron however as I take a about 65 mg every other day or so with no probs.
What do you think is the problem with the iron?

Oh, if you are getting 4 grams of EPA and 4 grams of DHA a day that is quite a lot and more than I recommend on my diet. That should only be done under a doctor's supervision. That should be making you want to screw like a bunny rabbit. You say it hasn't had an effect on your libido?

I only recommend iron for women who are able to menstruate. Menstruation can cause low iron because of the loss of blood. Even there women should be checked for hemochromatosis.

It's more dangerous for men to take iron supplements because they don't lose blood every month. But of course if your doctor recommends that you take iron for anemia then of course it's fine. I just wanted to avoid a blanket recommendation for men to take iron. Too much iron can cause stomach problems and heart problems

    Hi zaneblue,

I just ordered a bottle of liquid Omega Zen 3 vegan DHA supplement. I won't be able to ingest it at the quantities you suggest as the cost is quite high. But I thought I'd give it a try. At the doses I'm gonna try, which is 4 full droppers per day, two in the morning and two at night. I'll get 1200mg of DHA per day for just over 18 days, at about $35.00 USD which includes the shipping.

At the moment, my primary reason to try it is to find something natural to counteract my depression. Secondly, if it amps up my arousal, then that would be good too. :D It should be arriving this week. I'll post if I think I see any results.

Thank you, zaneblue, for your prompt answer. I agree and I thought you meant less than I was already taking. The fish oil has made me want to hump like a rabbit, but it is offset by blood pressure medicine which left my cock as limp as wilted lettuce. I have learned from this experience that it is as hard to f*** with wilted lettuce as it is to push a raw oyster through and coin slot. Hence, the Aneros Helix, Cialis, and lots of good written and pictorial porn, all shared with my wife of course. Progress is being made, and I am new at this. Thank you for your help and information.

That much fish oil should make it possible for your doctor to lower your blood pressure meds (with frequent monitoring, of course).

Love_is, I think it's the EPA that helps with depression, but your body should be able to convert some of the DHA to EPA.

    Hi Zane!

I know you have probably posted this multiple times, but . . .

Could you recommend one or more high DHA to EPA content fish oil,
    by Brand Name or link???

    Thanks in advance!

The ratio should be around 1.5 EPA to 1 DHA. Most high-quality fish oils have 2 to 1, so I recommend additional DHA supplementation like Carlson's Super-DHA. GNC has a DHA brand too.

I think Carlson's also has an ultrarefined brand with the right proportions.

Zane, thanks for all the info. I never before connected the relationship between food, vitamins, and sex. I am going to get your book.

May I ask you a personal question? If you do not want to answer, I understand. My wife and I are deepening our relationship and that includes sexually. You are one of the few women I can find here, so:

Do you personally enjoy any of the Aneros products?

    Which ones?

Do you use other products you enjoy more than Aneros?

Do you use them on yourself, have a partner use them for you, or during intercourse?

Since women have their G spot, in which hole do the toys give you the most satisfaction?

    Any other comments or suggestions?

According to Dr. Russell Blaylock, the DHA is more beneficial than the EPA component. He claims that the EPA is repsponsible for the potentially negative effects of blood thinning and immune suppression. He recommends getting the highest DHA/EPA ratio that you can get. Looking at a lot of products it is very difficult to find fish oil where the EPA/DHA are equal. Usually the EPA component is higher, probably to cut down on the fishy odor and taste.

I just got some Carlson brand Fish Oil with a very high DHA content so we'll see how it goes.
Coromega really brought down my triglycerides but had little effect so far on LDL or HDL.

I do think the fish oil has given me better erections and orgasms. I take prescription Niaspan too. I causes flushing which is almost like a turn-on in itself.

    I don't use the Aneros because I don't have a prostate.

I do use the Gyneflex, which is more of an exercise device, but it does hit the G-spot and because I am so easily orgasmic I am orgasmic when I work out with it.

The only toy I need during sex is a man's penis. :D

Iron overdose is toxic and can be fatal particularly in children. Men should generally not take it except under a Dr's supervision given that they are anemic.

Other brands I have tried and or are aware of that are good are:

    Zonelabs Omega Rx: http://www.zonediet.com/OMEGA3/tabid/64/Default.aspx

    Lovaza (by prescription): http://www.lovaza.com/
  • Hey Zane,

Bought your book a long time ago and have been trying to turn aneros users on to the magic of your diet plan. My wife has started the diet not long after I did with exceptional results. Your diet has turned my use of the aneros into prolonged orgasmic bliss. Thank you so much and to the men out there who have not read her book and are searching for the super-O I highly recommend it as a useful tool. It will lower your prostates orgasmic threshold.

  • Hi OH!!
I think you got the Lovaza.. have you started to use it yet?

I'm interested because my CoPay will bring my monthly cost way down, and it is extremely pure!

    To All,
I have been using the triple strength Omega 3 from GNC for about a couple months now. (I had never used the GNC brand) it is good stuff, but I have to supplement it with DHA. I have used most brands for a long time, so I figured I would try the GNC brand.

The first 7 days of each month you can get a GNC discount also. Get the members card and you get an extra 10% off, even if they have the products on sale. This last month they had the triple strength "buy one get one for half price" and then another 10% on top of that.. so not bad.

Yep, I've been using it a bit over a month. I take 4 Lovaza, 2 GNC Triple Strength and 2 to 3 GNC DHA daily. Been doing well. Great session today.

Had a great session yesterday as well. O's all over the place; however because I had a headache earlier in the day I took 1 Advil. My O's were there but without much pleasurable sensation. I'm thinking the Advil must have dampened the O effect. Oh well. I almost never take something like Advil. I usually prefer to feel a little pain than take anything, but I had a long persistent headache since waking in the morning. Thankfully it was gone today.

PS: I believe if I was taking straight Lovaza I would have to take 7 daily. My script is only for four so I try to balance it out. I buy it online on a 90 day script and get better prices.
  • Oh!!
    That sounds great!
Maybe time to hit up the doc and tell him to set me up. If I can get it for a copay that will sure help reduce the cost. I got some more of the GNC triple strength Omega 3 over the Thanksgiving holiday,
they were letting members use there GNC cards for a discount... buy one, get one half price, then 10% off that price... not bad..
The triple strength seems to be some good stuff. At the moment I still supplement it with the Zone Labs. As soon as the Zone is gone I will not get it any longer.

    Thanks for the info!!

    Hello everyone,

I just finished my bottle of liquid Omega Zen 3 vegan DHA supplement.
Unfortunately, I can't say that I've noticed any difference in my well being and level of horniness.
Unless it is either too gradual, or too subtle to notice.

Keep in mind that I was not able to take the dosage level that zaneblue recommends due to the cost. So that may very well have played a part in it.

It was an interesting experiment to try. But I'm not going to bother repeating it.
I know I can get more benefits out of just plain old regular aerobic exercise than I experienced with the DHA supplement.
Of course... I actually have to go out and do the exercise to get the benefits...

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not poo pooing DHA supplements at all. I'm just saying it didn't work for me.

    Love is Peace
  • Want to get started on a regime and I'll be happy to let you know the results. So if you would be so kind, could you please let me know if this is a good balanced supplement:

    Omega 3 1600mg

    EPA 800mg
    DHA 500 mg

    Thanks in advance.

That's not very refined, it might give you digestive problems at the amounts I recommend.

    Love_is, thanks for the feedback!
