Swollen Feeling in Anus After Use

I’ve used the SGX about five times now (two or three times a week), but I’ve noticed a swollen feeling around my anus after using the device that doesn’t seem to go away. I don’t really notice anything in looking at it, and it’s not really painful, but it is uncomfortable. I’ve been using plenty of lubrication (ID Glide), so I don’t think that that is the cause.

Is this swollen feeling just my body adapting to the SGX, or is it something that is not typical? If it is the former, how long will it take before I do not have the swollen feeling? If it is the later, should I discontinue using the SGX?

On my last try I was just beginning to experience some of the sensations that have been described, so I hope that this condition will not prevent me from continuing to use the SGX.

Thanks in advance for any information!

    Paul,

There may be several reasons for the "swollen " sensation that you're observing. First, if you are new to anal play, it can and usually does take some time for the anal musculature to become accustomed to penetration. The time this takes varies from one person to the next, and on your level experience with anal penetration prior to using the Aneros. Individuals who are new to anal play often have the tendency of tensing up upon the initial insertions of the device. This "tensing up" can, in and of itself result in soreness. So relaxation and not going at it too quickly are a must!

You've stated that you're using the device about three times a week, but how long are each of these sessions? If you're going at it for longer than an hour or so, it may be too much (at least initially). Have you ever over exerted when starting up an exercise program and found that one or more of your (skeletal) muscle groups sore and perhaps swollen? Your anus is no different, except for the fact that there's a greater abundance of sensory nerves in this area which can make inflammation seem more pronounced.

Another factor to consider may be the kind of contractions that you're using. You want to avoid "over-contacting". The kind of anal contractions necessary to bring about the "non-ejaculatory orgasm" ( Super O) are quite subtle really. Dozens of intense contractions will not get you where you want to go. However, they can make you sore. So if you are doing this, you may want to try a scale back a bit, take a more measured approach, and limit the duration of your sessions.

In so far as the SGX is concerned, it is the smaller of the two devices that are currently being produced. So if you're experiencing soreness from the SGX I certainly would not recommend the MGX at this time.

All of this having been said, if you continue to notice pronounced swelling and are experiencing ongoing discomfort you may want to consult a physician before going forth.

    Cheers,

Thank you very much for your reply and for the information. I am new to this and while the length of my sessions have been less than an hour (probably around 30 minutes or less), I might have been using contractions that were too hard in the beginning.

Is it advisable to wait between sessions until any discomfort is completely gone, or is this not necessary? In other words, will continued use of the SGX while the discomfort is still present tend to make it worse over time?

    Thanks again!

    Paul,

Myself, I'd wait until most of the discomfort is gone. My guess is that it would probably be a matter of 4 days or so. Again, as your anus becomes more accustomed to this kind of action all of this will be less of an issue. In addition , I would strongly recommend that you change your lube. I've posted extensively on this in the past, but, in a nutshell, KY jelly is the only way to go. ID Glide, KY-liquid, WET, and all the other glycerin based lubricants are just thinner versions of KY jelly. Prelubricating your anus/rectum with an infant medicine dropper (you can use the thinner lubricants for this inner lubrication) can also give you an added level of lubrication. Again, the more lubrication, the more mobility of the Aneros inside your body AND the less irritation. I find KY jelly just slicker and more slippery than any of the other alternatives.
