I am lost at what to do next.
  • If you're not a reader, skip to the "***" and read from there, this following first bit is just history.

I know this has been said a million times, but I really want help with this thing. I kept reading all kinds of testimonials, but to quit from being too anticipating, I stopped reading those. Then I started introducing stimuli, such as porn and such. Porn just distracted me, and while it helped a little bit, it did more harm than good. Next I moved onto sound arousal.. It didn't help too much, but it did keep my mind from straying. After sound and porn, I tried to meditate and take a hot shower before sessions, and it helped but still didn't do much of anything.

I thought maybe it was my model, so I went from the MGX Classic, to the Progasm Ice. It felt great, but still didn't have much to offer. I then got the Helix Syn, which has completely proven useless time and time again... My latest purchase was the Peridise. So far, the Peri generates the best sensations, but nothing more than a chilling feeling at times.

My lastest sessions have been a mix of good feelings, occasionally some involuntaries that don't produce anything, and eventually, about two hours into it, lost arousal and no interest in continuing.

    ***
So far, I would like to say I am at the "P-Wave" part of the journey... It has been almost one whole year since my first experiment with these products. I will use it for about 2-3 hours, and then at that point I just lose interest out of boredom and lost arousal.

I think the problem is that I can't find my prostate, or my perineum. I have "dug" around my rectal area trying to find my prostate, and about the closest I can get is what feels to be a slight bump just up behind where the anal opening comes together from the inside... However, slightly rubbing it has absolutely no response, even when I'm freshly in the mood. This spot is just before my second knuckle, about 70% of my middle finger... If I go all the way in to my actual knuckle, I get the same response as before. If I go about 50% or 30% finger-in, there's nothing.

There are times I just know that the aneros has hit the prostate, because I get a chilly feeling with a quick hiccup of breath or so, and it triggers a quick set of involuntaries... But it doesn't continue by itself, and I can't try to make it continue if I try to. It always stops.

I have tried laying on both sides, on my back, doggy, and standing - No real difference in what happens.

As for the perineum.. I have tried placing the P-Tab all the way down close to my anus, and all the way up next to my scrotum, and everywhere inbetween - I don't get any "zappy" feeling everyone says that you get when it's touched. Nothing, no response. Sometimes I may be sensitive in some spots, but even leaving the P-Tab there won't do anything.

I really don't want to give this up, but the miniscule pleasure it's giving me is almost worth just having a traditional orgasm. I really want to experience what my almost $200 of purchases has promised me, but I am starting to think I just physically can't do it!!

I am thinking it's because I can't reach a high level of arousal - Nothing really arouses me, except for pleasure itself. Porn turns me on, but that's about it. Sound keeps my mind from wandering, but does nothing for me. I was interested in trying the Slightest Touch E-Stim, but after no response on shipping for over a month, I got my money back and canceled it.

I'm in the military, so asking a doctor about my concern is out of the question.. I couldn't look at that Officer in the face ever again. Can someone please help me out here? It's been almost a year, I've tried all positions, porn, sound arousal, you name it!

  • I apologize in advance for the lengthy reply, but I saw your message and felt I should comment. Just for background: I am older (in my 60's) and, unlike many in my age group, have been told I have a "small" prostate (less than 20ml) on physical examination (BTW, I am a radiologist and have seen my own prostatic ultrasound, so the prostate size was not a doctor's trying to make something up ).  I had originally looked for ways of prostate stimulation  when I was looking for reasons that my sexual pleasure (heterosexual, married 44 (!) years) had dropped and my ejaculate was reduced, knowing that the ejaculate volume is a factor in orgasm pleasure.  I also thought that my "prostate" was too small to be found and before I had actually found the Aneros site had experimented with self-digital exam (awkward, uncomfortable and unsuccessful).  I found the Aneros site thru a prostate stimulation site and bought the Helix-Syn. For the first 4-5 months, nothing happened.  I did practice Kegel type exercises, both with and without the Helix and I think that is VERY important.  A recent blog note also described being able to separate the anterior muscles that control urine from the posterior muscles around the anus--that takes a lot more practice.  Anyhow, I felt the first twinges of something happening after 5 months, during which I only used the device rarely (because of a busy life, family, etc).  The breakthrough came with a few 2 hour sessions I was able have while away on business.  I had been following the advice of many of the "veteran" users, as it seems you have.  After starting with at least 10 minutes of relaxing, I start(ed) by drawing the device in, holding it  as with a Kegel and then partially releasing the muscles.  Several repetitions result in the device to begin to "rock" on its own, due to rhythmic contractions called "clonus". The same thing will happen to your knee, if, while sitting, you raise your ankle a bit off the ground and then slowly lower it several times until it begins to rhythmically jump up and down, getting less if you try to control it and more if you relax. The same thing happens inside.  I found that breathing was very important and then, I found (and still do) that if you gently push the device downward (not out, but towards the "exit") and repeat that, there will be an odd and VERY pleasureable tickle that you can focus on and strengthen gradually.  Then, its better to rest for a short time and repeat.  Now, as far as positions: I have found consistently that lying off the side of my bed, with my knees at 90 degrees and feet square on the floor and my butt, just barely (ha-ha) on the bed is the best way to get the pleasureable feelings started.  After the "zone" is  primed, I try several positions on the bed (supine, with one leg up, supine with legs apart, on my side with one leg pulled well up) and each has its own benefits.  I am at 10 months down the line and have had great sessions which are nearly mindblowing and others that are mildly pleasant.  This "re-wiring" that they talk about is real, though I can't really explain it medically.  I noticed this after I felt that nipple stimulation (flicking gently, both sides) began to be felt straight down "there".  And soon I have noticed that I can precipitate a dry O very quickly.
As far as "stimulants":  I have a personal aversion to porn of all kind and have never used it before a session. Even music has not been part of my success, though I suppose now that I am "in the groove" it might be nice.  But to me, hearing heavy breathing or even "mood music" only distracted me and I have abandoned it. Many of the bloggers talk about being aroused before starting, but I have actually found that the Aneros experience is not a sexual experience though it is certainly sensed in our erogenous zones.  On the other hand, I have used the Helix during intercourse with my wife, and it has consistently really added to my sexual pleasure and, if I am to believe my wife of 44 years, has helped our love life.

My message to you is multiple: Everyone is different (vive la difference!)--what works for others may not work for you and vice versa (WWFY: whatever works for you).  That goes for the descriptions that some of the bloggers/forum members have written about their experiences.  Don't despair; relax and let the re-wiring do its thing; enjoy the pleasureable feelings and try to focus on them and try to amplify them and bring them back (at the beginning it doesn't seem to work).

    All the best!
  • Thanks for your amazing reply. I read every word.

Needless to say, I look forward to trying the next session. You hit some key points I want to focus on. I think my sessions have turned more into a learning session than a "get me a super o" session as of the last month..

@thefyre13, i think you kinda hit the needle on the head with "get me a super o."  In my opinion, chasing the elusive super o will always end in a dud.  My best sessions have been when a super o was the last thing on my mind.  Just relax and let your body show you the way, those minor almost insignificant feelings can lead the way, but you need to listen to them, enjoy them, and they will eventually grow stronger and blossom.  Also are you using proper lube or enough, these can be deal breakers also as it will prevent necessary movement of the device.

Sounds like the same position I was in Fyre. Check my blog entries to see how I finally figured things out.

Otherwise - a lot of my progression with inner pleasure occurred outside of Aneros sessions. It was mostly deconstructing what I found arousing, and forcing myself to do something from the norm like differing breathing pace, vocal moan and such. It kick started huge sensations. I think a big discovery was that the Aneros was actually having an impact on the prostate - it was just a question of picking up on this and realising it. Then again, that alone can take time.

    Edit:
And to add, timing and mood can play a BIG factor on what can be a dud or a fantastic time. Although it varies with each and every individual, stress and insecurities can stop a lot of sensations and pleasures coming through. You need to be relaxed and happy enough.

You have to do more aneros session and accept the failure (not getting orgasm). Only then your focus will be on something else than "get a super-o".

I admire your persistence. After a couple weeks I noticed some signs of feeling, and then they abandoned me. Now I'm feeling discouraged after only a couple weeks of this. I'm wondering if I'm contacting the prostate as well, and am considering getting a larger model. I have OCD tendencies and am worried if this dry spell continues my interests will wander elsewhere and I'll give it up.

    @TheFyre13 and @ctusser,

I can only advise both of you simply to continue with regular practice. Not every session will be rewarding while you are in the process of rewiring. You should also bear in mind that rewiring can take some of us folks years to accomplish.

After just over four years of Aneros use, I'm not confident that I am fully rewired but I can report that, at least during the last year, successes seem to be more common than failures and it has been a lot of fun on the way.

I still don't expect to receive orgasms on every outing but I never consider a session to be a total dud any more. So, stick at it!

Good luck and enjoy the ride!

    @TheFyre13 and @ctusser,
Pommie has good advice. I think that the experience testimonials in the forum are great motivators but they generate the dreaded expectations that sabotage the rewire. For me I am 18months into the journey and as yet not had any sequential involuntaries or 'o's. I do feel good and i think i have at last a semi awakened prostate. I am still learning to let go expectations and enjoy my incremental steps, small though they be. I am also grateful for the huge health and emotional benefits that have come from the journey with Aneros.
I also feel although the prostate orgasm is ancient, in this present world it is a new experience and we here are on the fore front paving the way for others. So it is all new and explorative. There is no set path yet....

I just got to the point where my sessions are producing nice feelings. What it took for me was quitting porn. Do you look at porn outside of sessions? If so, I would suggest giving up porn for a couple of months and see how things go.  I've been off porn for a little over a month, and it's the biggest as well as least obvious roadblock I've overcome.

    TheFyre13,
All of the above posters have given you some good insights/tips to ponder and possibly adopt. Exploring and experimenting with the variety of techniques offered in the pages of this Forum is a daunting adventure with many paths only leading you in circles. From your post I am intuiting a great deal of frustration, frustration from not experiencing unmet expectations.

In those revealing statements, you acknowledge you have had success and just as quickly devalue that very success. Prostate massage with the Aneros is a very gentle, low intensity pressure applying device. The resulting sensations are initially very subtle, almost undetectable, almost subliminal, but they are there. It is your ability to apply mental focus and tune into those sensations where the real "rewiring" begins. Your body is working just fine, it is your mental attitude that is in need of fine tuning.

While it is true different models provide a different sensory experience, it is also true a number of experienced, veteran users can achieve Super-O's with any of the models or even without an Aneros at all. So it isn't the model which is holding you back. You have confirmed you know your prostate is being touched. If it was touched a few times it can be touched repeatedly, your prostate can't go hiding into other parts of your body. Don't put too much emphasis on finding your sweet spot, your erroneous assumption this is a particularly "...zappy..." spot may be leading you to further false expectations. Some men have a particularly identifiable neural plexus in the perineum area, others don't ! (Like myself, I've been searching for years but can't find it, I know it is there but it is more a case of general increased sensitivity in the area than rather than anything specific.)

I know these Aneros devices are not inexpensive and no one wants to feel they have made a poor investment or been bamboozled by a snake oil salesman but what exactly was promised to you? Nothing more than a self powered prostate massager! Isn't it possible your expectations, desires and hopes morphed into an assumed performance promise beyond a prostate massager? Perhaps there is some resentment lingering in your mind for an unfulfilled assumed promise.
IMHO, bringing a high level of arousal to an Anerosession is one of the critical factors for experiencing a satisfactory session. Pornography or other erotic stimulation prior to a session may prove beneficial but may be counterproductive during your actual Anerosession because of its tendency to occupy your focus and divert attention away from your own body and the senasations your body is producing. You may find, as many of your comrades have found, temporal abstinence to be a significant aid in building arousal.

While sounds/music may not be erotically enhancing for you, if they are aids to keeping your mind focused then they are a definite positive for you and should be fully utilized. you may find some additional thoughts for increasing the likelihood of success in the thread Identifying Facilitators to Progress.

I wish there was a specific formula, technique, procedure or whatever which I could give you to create the richly fulfilling experience pleasurable Anerosessions are, but, alas, such does not exist. Rather it is a matter of you finding the right combination of stimuli along with a positive mental approach to overcome any obstacles to progress. The mental aspect of Aneros use can not be underestimated and I encourage you to read 'rook's thread - Whole Body/Whole Mind - the mental side & my post "zoneros" for a little more insight.

  • Excellent post Rumel, and I read it all. Thanks for the advice everyone

I do want to say, that after reading these posts, I had MAJOR success last night for the first time!

This was a breakthrough for me... I tried what Armon-neat told me, and tried the push back and scoop thing with my Peridise... When I did that, I felt an extreme sensitivity in only a small "dot" portion of my insides. I knew this had to be the prostate because it was the same sensitivity that I felt before.

I laid on my side in the recommended style, and did exactly what Armon-neat said - Pull it in with kegels (and some anal muscle too), and held it there.

Moments later, I had a SERIOUS build up of feeling. My heart began pumping VERY fast and hard, and the device started to move on it's own - Not in the "rocking" manner, specifically, but more of a pumping manner. Oh my god - The feeling was insane. I want to say these are the P-waves everyone talks about, because it would hit me like a building orgasm, and feel like I was about to come, and then go back down to a serious arousal.

After the near-miss went down to an arousal, it immediately picked back up into another serious pleasurable sensation that felt like the verge of orgasm. About 5 seconds later, it went back down to major arousal again. A third time, it started peaking again. As it peaked at the "pre-orgasm" stage again, it fell back down to arousal, and ultimately died after that.

I kept the device in all night, and only had one more close call, but it wasn't as intense as the last near-miss. I ended up falling asleep with the device in me, because I hadn't got much sleep the night before.

I have a good feeling this wasn't a super-O, but it was DEFINITELY the best run I have had with this device... Due to your guys' advice, I tried some of the tips I got here, and it INSTANTLY paid off. At this point, if I can get that to happen again, I could care less how long the Super-O takes me... That felt GREAT!

Feeling the "peaking" of the orgasm and then the fall back, then the peaking again, was a whole new feeling and I will never forget it. Time to get back on the journey tonight! I got moody just explaining this...
