Suddenly no feeling at all?
  • Hey all,

So, I'm more than a year in to my experience with my Aneros (I've got a Helix classic) and things have been relatively great. I've discovered tons of new sensations and, with the help of others, I've really come a long way to opening myself up to new things.

Things have taken a strange turn, however. Last week, I decided to go for a ride. After cleaning out and lubing up, I inserted my Helix.... and nothing. I mean, I felt almost absolutely nothing. Usually I'm prone to pleasurable sensations, even during insertion. There was almost nothing at all. I did my usual relaxing, focusing on my breathing and clearing my head... and still nothing. This went on for about an hour before I decided to throw in the towel and call it a night.

This wouldn't have been a problem had it not happened for the NEXT 3 SESSIONS IN A ROW. I'm becoming fairly discouraged and was wondering if anyone has any advice or if they've encountered this problem before.

    I'd really appreciate the help.

I get the distinct feeling you are pressing and trying to force your body to produce pleasure on demand. This is not a formula for success. Perhaps it is time to take a little break and allow your body to decide when to go for a ride. Listen to your body, when it immediately signals no interest with providing you with pleasurable sensations you should honor that message and not try to force the issue. Even excellent technique is no substitute for genuine desire and arousal.

While men can often force, through use of proven technique, an ejaculatory penile based orgasm, the same can not be said for prostate orgasms. Your prostate needs to be seduced into responding, it will not perform on a schedule set up by your ego. I think it is pretty normal to experience temporary pauses as your arousal levels wax and wane. Take some time to allow your natural arousal to build before you attempt another session, your prostate will whisper when it is interested in playing again, so listen to your body, it won't ever lie to you.

Listen to your body, that's good advice and my personal preference for sessions. If you find that it does not come back and your sessions don't contain any pain, I'd do 2 things. Consider your diet and exercise regime (you want to balance this to much or to little of either will mess around with your energy levels perhaps leaving you without much for your sessions). And secondly simple grounding meditation to help promote healthy energy flow throughout your body. Your prostate is closely linked to a major energy centre, if you have underlying health issues elsewhere in your body, all the other energy centres will donate energy to help promote recovery (this is especially true with this energy centre). I admit this may not apply to why you are not feeling anything at the moment, but in the event it continues it can't hurt trying, at the very least your body will thank you for it.

I'm in your boat as well. Been using it to much after I decided to stop forcing the super-o`s. Now it has somewhat shut down. I can still force my way to almost the Super-o still, but I want it to come more easilly and naturally. So....

I will take a break and come back with a refreshed and altered laidback focus. Rewire the rewiring is my goal actually :)

Good advice from BF and Wired above me.. Also mentalstress or physical exhaustion could be a factor for you.

    Good luck!

My personal experience follows @rumel's description pretty closely. Even after more than a year I experience pauses. Rather than getting frustrated, I've started using the pauses as a time to really tune into what my body is telling me. It may be very subtle, but it's there. During a more "normal" session, there is too much intensity to focus on the quiet murmurs.

I think @wired makes a good point about overall health. I have found my reactions to Aneros to be a good indicator of my physical and mental well being. If I have a dry spell, it's time to take stock of the situation.

    Don't stress, it will pass.

But, I was aroused. My apologies for not making that clearer. I only ever ride when I'm aroused and I definitely listen to my body on such things. I have decided, on the other hand, to take a break. Perhaps it will help things out :)

@mikejensen, im kinda in the same boat as you, though i still get plenty of pleasure from my sessions.  Im on a two month no orgasm stint here, and like you not sure why.  I'm sure in time it will work itself out, but yes very frustrating.  Things were going so well, now, no orgasms, everything else is the same.  Oh well.
