    My bottle of Probe Thick and rich fell over a spilled about a saucer size puddle of lube in the carpet. This stuff is THICK!!!! Any idea how to get it out of the carpet? The stuff seems to be more like soap than anything.

    I tried a we towel, but it just gets on the towel and then the towel will not absorb anymore???

  • @xtimedt69 Lube out of carpet... I hate it when that happens so I get my wife to shave down there! :)

    seriously though.
    If you have a scraper like you use to remove mortar when re tiling a bath room (hint hint) then you could run that over the carpet hard and collect a bit of the lube if it is short pile carpet. Then warm/hot water with detergent in it, to was it.
    Messy job da Misses is not going to be pleased at all. Still it could be worse, it could be silicone lube!

    Maybe some sort of steam carpet cleaner device? I mean it is water based, so it should dilute and break down.

    do you have a wet/dry vac? i would just keep wetting it and sucking it up, or blotting with a wet towel, might just take some time.

    Being a neat person and never 'anxious' before a session, such a spill would never happen to me.  So the following isn't based on personal experience, just rumor.  :lol:

    Best to carry out the job soon after the 'spill'  otherwise, time and sunlight, shining through a window can set the stain or cause the lube to discolor or bleach the carpet.  Toss a towel over the area to prevent an oil/fat based lube from being tracked about. Before starting, crank up the hot water heater well above 120 deg. F. or heat a large pot of water on the stove.

    Pretreat with Spray-and-Wash or Resolve (the more the better).

    Agree with Ineverknew's approach.  Hoover Steamvac (r) (rotating burshes turned on) with very hotwater and laundry detergent (one medicine dropper of detergent to each tank of hot detergent).  Repeat as needed.

     Rinse with clear hot water then suck out the moisture as much as possible.  Repeat as necessary.  Resolve seems to work OK on a damp area.

    If the area is prone to "exposure" to lubes, treat the area with a stain guard like Scotchguard (for carpet, not upholstery).

    @rook Ha! I was trying to be sneaky and sleep with my little friend and I hid the bottle under the bed and it overturned and the little snap lid was not fully closed.

    @braveneworld @ikneverknew @Love_is

    Well .... Many of you know I have a supportive wife, She really would care if I slept with it, but when I announce it she gives me this evil little look with a smirk on her face, So I was trying to be sneaky.

    Well after I confessed my deed, she said "listen from now on just stick in your butt and put the lube on the nightstand!" She wasn't pissed, it was more like catching the kid with his hand in the cookie jar. Then she cleaned it up using the braveneworld method, she took a putty knife and scraped it all out then dabbed it with some water. It worked perfectly!!!!! But now, every time I walk past that spot it has a Super O. Lucky carpet.
