Prostate Question

Hi there as you all know i seem to have done some damage to my prostate
through the improper use of prostate massage and i was wanting to know is
it possible to cause irreversible damage to the prostate in persons with non
bacterial prostatis? I was just wondering that is all, i have heard you can do
serious damage to prostate and maybe even permanent damage to the
prostate, but this seems to be only the case in people with bacterial prostatis &
prostate cancer, i only say this because this seems to be the impression i am
getting from reading all of this stuff. Am i wrong about this being the case?
It has been two months now and it doesnt seem to be really feeling any
better so naturally now i am very worried, i have already been to the doctor
and told him about my problem, he even felt my prostate and said if there
where any cuts or damage of the sort he would have felt it, the only other
thing is he was not pushing the area of the prostate where pain was, he was
pushing in the middle, the pain is located on the top left hand side of the
prostate and on the bottom right hand side of the prostate, should i go and
get a second opinion because of this fact? And also i think i even asked
him whether i could have caused cuts or serious damage to the prostate
but i am not sure, and i think he said you wouldnt be able to push hard
enough or either its not possible because the prostate is protected by
the wall of the rectum, and he said it is probably just bruisng and that
it takes a long time to heal, but from what i have heard from others
who have done the same thing i have and have had bruising of the
prostate heals fairly quickly which conflicts with what the doctor told
me, could he be wrong about the bruising issue?

I really need your feedback because i ama bit worried and scared atm,
so i would appreciate it if someone could respond.

    Thankyou cheers thecritta

You do really need to give the whole area a general rest to allow everything in there time to heal. If there's nerve damage (possibly unlikely), the pain may be felt elsewhere to where the damage is.

The temptation might be to start playing with the prostate before the bruising has healed fully. If you do that, you might be undoing the healing, just like picking a scab.

Just some personal thoughts there. I'm not a doctor, nor have I ever played one on TV. If you're sufficiently worried about it, go get a second opinion, but make sure the doc is fully in the picture before he/she examines you.

    thecritta:

What do you mean by "improper" prostate massage ? Forcing Aneros - or another toy - inside with your hands ? Very strong or fast contractions ?

I'm asking because you could help others avoid similar injury.

I was lying on my stomach with the aneros Ice in then with my hips i started thrusting the head of Ice
down harder into my prostate and it seems as thought i have cause some bruising or nerve damage,
hopefully it is not nerve damage because i dont know whether that will ever heal, i really hope it is not that
    for god sakes.

Let me make this clear - you managed to hurt yourself by using Aneros Progasm (Ice) in a fairly legitimate way ? You haven't used your hands to push it deeper, just your PC muscle ? That's not supposed to be possible.

One thing that gives hope is that it doesn't seem to hurt from touching prostate directly, right ? The pain is more to the side ?

I wish you good health. I hope you'll heal well and will have a good time once again. A small bruise would heal quick. A bigger one might take longer, makes sense.

One thought... have you got far enough down the path that you can do Anerosless sessions yet?

Yes i can have anerosless session they are almost as good as the real thing, but they dont quiet do it not using aneros is no fun though.

Airbag just last week i went to see the doctor again at the same place, this time it was a different doctor,
he said i might have injured the muscle surrounding the prostate which i completely different to what the
other doctor said who though it could be just slight bruising, i have not used aneros now for 2 months and
3 day can someone plz tell me whether tearing or injury to the muscle surrounding the prostate would be possible? I just want to know, and what kind of a damn bruise would take over 2 months to heal? My
prostate still feels like crap, i cant even tell whether it is healing or not i dont even think it is, however in
the areas where there is pain i get a pulling apart of the muscle a stretching or starining type feeling so
maybe the muscle is damaged i surely hope not maybe i have pulled the muscle or torn it apart is my bet,
like the doctor sais i may have to go see a urologist this is what i feel like doing atm just so i can get some
damn answers, i ma getting really sick of being in this damn hopeless lingering non healing state. The
problem with doctors is, one doctor says one thing and the other doctor says another thing so you dont
even know which one is right, i dont even know what the problem is which bothers me quiet a lot, why is
this taking so long to heal? Thats if it ever heals at all. I am also going to tomorrow to get the results of the
urine test i did just to see if there is any infection of any sort.

Also airbag are you a doctor of any sort just curious?

Thanks for you help i appreciate it take care

What sort of doctor did you see? Was it a general practitioner or was it a specialist in genitourinary medicine?

It was a GP you need a refferal from a GP to see a specialist
I don't think this nightmare will ever end.

  • thecritta: I would suggest getting the referral. Explain to the urologist your circumstance, and if you can afford it, and MRI of the area may be warranted before going any further. MRI, unlike XRAY, can show soft tissue damage through Magnetic Resonance Imaging. XRAY exposes the body to radiation, and only dense tissue will show up on an XRAY. I wouldn't do anything more without at least a diagnostic MRI or similar test.

    ET1
  • critta;

ET1 is right. Get an MRI to see what's going on.

As for the time it takes for internal bruising to heal, I have some bad news for you. After a motorcycle accident that partially crushed one of my testicles and bruised a lot of parts inside, it took almost a year before I could have sex without any pain. That area heals very slowly. My doc said it was because blood and other fluids tend to pool in the scrotum and inside the lowest part of the abdominal cavity, taking a long time to clear out.

That said, I hope you recover quickly.

    Best Regards,

    Dave
  • Good news went to see the doctor today i have got a refferal from them for the urologist, i will have to wait now
until i get the refferal however he seems to think there is a chance i might have bacterial prostatitus so now i
have just started taking anti biotics. This problem is driving me mental.

As I said in chat, antibiotics will take a few weeks to have full effect. Also, do take all the prescription. Don't stop them just because you're feeling a little better.

Has your GP given you an idea how long it will be before the urologist might see you? (I assume it might be like the NHS here in the UK — 6–12 weeks.)
