• Hey all,

I've been following the forums for about a month and have followed the history and searched. I'm a new and very happy aneros user with the sgx, helix and eupho. I like the helix most by far. No super anything yet, just a number of very pleasurable episodes of involuntary contractions in my bum and lower abdominal muscles. On my first try I was also playing around with a cock ring and was able to have several orgasms by just stopping dick play as I first came, wash rinse repeat. That was fun, but a super-O sounds a lot more fun. :P I'm in no rush to learn as I hear I can't make it happen. I'm addicted! Ok, I lied, I can't wait for my first super-o.

Anyway. I want to know what you guys think is/are the best lubrication(s) to inject? I spend a pretty penny on JO but learned very quickly that my body rather despises glycerine. On the other hand I can pump myself full of KY sensitive with no problem. Unfortunately, it's water based and doesn't last very long at all. I experimented a bit with olive oil but have read negative things about it. I'm searching for a VERY LONG LASTING lube that doesn't make me need to poop, doesn't clog anything, and doesn't gum up my digestive tract if ya know what I mean. I usually insert about 5 ml of KY sensitive and smear some crisco on the toy. That's worked good, but doesn't last very long at all. I do love crisco!

Love reading about your successes and it really turns me on. I hope there's a holy grail out there!

On a completely different note, I'd like to change my nickname but can't figure out where that setting is.

Thanks a bunch!!!

I use boy butter. They have a H20 and a oil based lube. It does have some glycerine in it. The lube lasts a long time.

Hi 9031,

first, on the screen name. Send an email to with a couple of choices. Suggest pick a name containing four or more characters so that the search engine can find you and your posts.

Regarding lube: this is one of the most personal matters and men using the Aneros find and usually stick with their lube choices. Men look for duration, "feel" of the lube, and convenience. Their variables are many: Desire to only lube the toy or to pre-lube with a finger or lube-injector. Whether they are able to or are willing to cleanse with an enema or simple douche. Size of the toy is a big factor as is the man's internal geometry. Ease of clean-up is also a factor. Then there's the matter of personal bias regarding, Organics, Silicones, Petroleum, Vegetable Fats and other factors. And, we a few men who would rather "fight rather than switch." Cost per session is also a factor for most guys.

Many of us home brew our lube from substances like Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Beeswax and Flax. rummel's excellent 'Natural Jelly' formula is in the Wiki and you can find other lube formulas in Love-is's excellent thread, -- --.

I personally like Slippery Stuff Gel; it's thick, super slippery, long lasting, has no glycerin, and is quite anal safe, according to this study:

AEGiS-CATIE News: Intriguing findings from study on lubricants - March 29, 2007

For a longer session, I put a thin coat of Vaseline on the Aneros, just to keep it from drying out (the Slippery Stuff is long lasting so long as it's inside; what's exposed to air dries out quickly).

Oh, and Slippery Stuff Gel isn't too expensive (~$17 with shipping) and it comes in a big 16 oz pumper bottle, that works well with a Lube Shooter or similar applicator.

Does the Slippery Stuff Gel pumper bottle work well with the infant ibuprofen medicine dropper I've heard mentioned?

I don't know about that, but it works quite well with the Lube Shooter or Lube Launcher, which costs under $10 for a piston and three applicator tubes, and are designed specifically to inject lube into small orifices. You just have to hold it tight to the spout and hold your thumb and forefinger tightly over the top and bottom of the opening to minimize leakage when filling.

There has been a continuing discussion on the Forum about lubrication types and issues. After the Super-O, lubrication is probably the next most discussed topic. I recommend you first read the Lubrication paragraph in the Getting Started chapter of the Aneros WIKI and then read through the Bestlube..., coconut oil or Unrefined shea butter... threads for additional information and insight into this topic.

There are many choices for natural lubrication, it is more a matter of personal preference which particular lube you choose to use. Olive oil, coconut oil and almond oil are all popular alternative natural lube choices, shea butter is another popular natural lubricant. These natural lubricants do not contain glycerin which can have a laxative effect on many men. The rectal wall is a highly permeable membrane, easily absorbing water and the chemicals therein. While natural oil lubes do get absorbed like water based lubes, the absorption rate is slower and as the viscosity of the oil increases, the absorption rate decreases. Hence lighter weight (low viscosity) oils like grape seed and olive oil will be more readily absorbed and disperse more rapidly than heavier oils (higher viscosity) like almond oil or canola oil.

Personally, I am concerned about the uptake of the various chemicals in commercial 'personal lubricants'. Since I've also developed a sensitivity to the glycerin found in many of the commercial lubricants, I've switched to using the 'Natural Jelly' formulation. I've also found a 50% almond oil - 50% shea butter lube effective as well.

P.S. As 'rook' mentioned, you will need to contact Support via U.S. mail, fax, phone or email ( ) to arrange for a user name change.
• Thanks for the tips guys! At some point I do want to play around with the natural oil based stuff like shea butter or the "home brew" recipe. I understand that cleanup with oil or silicone based lubes is a PITA and possible staining. Anything with glycerine is a total no go because I might as well give myself an enema even with the smallest amount of prelube, and I do really like to prelube. Weird thing, Astroglide didn't give me that purging feeling that JO H2O gave me. No idea why. I got some "Slippery Stuff" off of Amazon. Thanks Badger. It was around the price you mentioned, but I paid for shipping because I couldn't wait. It already arrived and at this point really enjoy it. I'm happier than a Cylon in a birthing pool. It is significantly thicker than KY Sensitive, my previous favorite. Thick is good and I hope it lasts a LONG time.

To "aneros_xxx" I use the baby medicine syringe with no problems. I use a tiny 1 oz alcohol gel hand cleaner container (1.60 at a convenience store) well washed and rinsed to hold the immediate stash of the stuff. Makes it easy to get the syringe filled and fits unobtrusively in my pocket. I just push the syringe into the smaller container and fill it. I would have said dip but it's so thick that you actually have to push a wee bit. Must wash it well after, but if you don't suck any gel into the nozzle when prelubing, cleaning is really easy! Will chime in on how it works in the very near future. Having fun atm.

To all that replied, thank you for doing so. I know that there's ton's of threads about lubricants, but for some stupid reason, I couldn't piece together what I needed. The search feature on this forum seems horribly lacking. I hope I found what I need for now. Popping a couple balls of shea butter up my bum does sound oddly interesting. Mark that under future experimentation.

p.s. Will msg support to fix my user name. Thanks rook!

Hey guys

I'm new and I have been using ID glide. I had found out it had glycerin in it, so now I want to stop using it. I always seem to have the urge to empty my bowels during my sessions. I am new to this anyways. So the other day I used vaseline to try it. It was alot more comfortable but it seemed to be too viscous. I was thinking about trying a water one, such as slippary stuff or maybe any one that is glycerin free. I know some have sorbitol in place which is actually a laxative as well. So I have a local sex shop I might try to go to to see the selection. I also was going to try to get some unrefined shea butter. Can anyone comment on the consistency after it heats up? I feel like the vaseline I used did not give me the motion that I needed. I read these forums for about 2 hours last night and just when I thought I found something good there was someone to say how it was bad. So bascially my question is should I try to get some glycerin free water lube and use in conjuction with shea butter? That seems like a good start. If any recommendations can be made or advice that would be very helpful. Thanks!

I've had very good luck with Slippery Stuff Gel; it's very thick, has no glycerin, is anal safe, is very slippery, and lasts a very long time (so long as it's not exposed to air). And it's not too expensive (~$17 with shipping for a 16 oz pumper). Putting a thin coat of Vaseline on the Aneros seems to work well, and keeps what's outside the butt slippery. When done, wipe the excess off, let the Aneros sit under a stream of hot water for several minutes, then soap it up and wash off.

I agree with Badger. Certified unrefined shea butter seems to work best for me but it is perhaps not as easy to obtain as many other forms of lubricant. Usually shea butter has to be bought through online suppliers. There might also be an issue with shelf life but I find that when bought in small quantities (say 250gm) when stored in the fridge will last at least a year.

That said, I have also found Vaseline to be perfectly suitable as an alternative and, at body temperature, seems to have the same consistency as shea butter. Vaseline is best for occasions when I'm feeling lazy and don't want or cannot go through the preparatory ritual involved with shea butter. This applies when traveling (staying in hotels etc).
• Thanks to all the posters that gave me very good links to related threads.

I do like Slippery Stuff. It is much thicker and lasts longer than any other water based gel w/o glycerine I have used yet. It is my favorite water based non glycerine lube. But it doesn't last long enough IMHO.

I got some shea butter based on reading that cleanup isn't that bad, leakage isn't much of a problem if you don't over do it, is silky smooth, and lasts a long time. This stuff kicks arse. It lasts a very long time, and as long as I don't over do it and wipe off excess leakage is minimal. Still figuring out the best way to get it up there though. The one I got crumbles then quickly mushes too easily, even when refrigerated. Wonder if I need to freeze it. Am continuing to read more threads regarding this. I may toy with heating and cooling and adding some coconut oil. I have no problems getting most of it past the first anal ring. It's the second ring that I seem to lose a good gob of it and comes back out on my finger. Such a waste. I LOVE SHEA BUTTER!!!

Thanks again!

Silky is a good description--I like that. I'm more 'absorptive' than most yet find Shea good, out to 2.5 hours. The fragrance component seems absorbed at the 45 minute point in my sessions and from that point onward, there's no distraction from the lube. It just works.

Depending on what you mix with shea butter, the melting point will be somewhere between 75deg. F and 90deg.F.

Warmed, it injects easily with typical lube shooters and surgical syringes. I've had no issues with the rubber or plastic plungers.

My criteria for buying: Unrefined is a must. Avoid any brand that even hints of cosmetic use -- sure way to get something with an aromatic perfume. That will get into your bloodstream and disturb you sense of smell. Pasteurize it. Either rummel's or alv's techniques do that job nicely.

blessings and enjoy!
I LOVE SHEA BUTTER!!!

I couldn't agree more with that statement =) Today i got my first jar of now food 100% natural shea, and wow..that stuff is amazing..the first thing i did was actually using it as a shaving cream, i just took up a click from the jar and put it in my hand, seconds later it had melted to perfect jam texture that i painted my head with, what a difference in texture between that other stuff i bought before, cant wait to try it with the aneros
• I bought the stuff from GNC that says it's 100% raw shea butter. I think it is mainly for cosmetic purposes. I was impatient. :) It doesn't say unrefined, but the only ingredient listed is shea butter and claims it's certified pure . There's no hint of perfume. It's a very light yellow or tan color that has very little scent and melts below body temperature. Unfortunately it's very crumbly. Crumbly is not the best word, but I can't think of a better one. What I have tried is using an empty lip gloss container shoved into the container to fill it then put it in the fridge. When I want some I twist it out and snip off a bit and shove it in. I may need to freeze it because I still can't get it past the second sphincter without crumbling then mushing. My life prevents me from doing any preheating, which sucks. LOL Thankfully, what I do get up there does last quite impressively.

you can try remelt the stuff and see if you can create a better melts at body temperature, so just putting the jar in hot water should do the job...

Before I started melting and injecting Shea I tried used a .357 bullet mold and freezing them.
If melting is out this might work:

-- suppository molds - Google Search --
(checkout open-tip @ $20) didn't include that link as it wud be spam.

Hello Cyrez, :)

Slowly heating it at low temperatures for a short time and stirring until it's all melted may solve the crumbly problem once it's solidified. You just have to be really careful as in my own experience it is really easy to over heat it and ruin the batch. What has happened to me is that the shea butter's melting temperature increases and the bodies internal temperature doesn't seem to be hot enough to keep it in it's completely melted form.
