Is this the Super O? An Observation.

Hey...been using various models for about 8 months. Had some very enjoyable experiences. Nothing I would describe as a Super O the last couple days, I've noticed some progression and I thought I'd share an observation.

    First, my regimen :
I do an anal douche, as the idea of anything up there while I'm doing this is very unappealing. I warm both the lube (Maximus) and whatever Aneros I plan to use in hot water for about 5 minutes. I vary the models I use, as I seem to become sensitized if I use one particular model too much. I have a Progasm, a Helix, a Eupho, the PS new [from High Island the MGX but it's a little longer and has knobs at the end which provide a really different feeling] and the MGX. I can say the MGX is an old faithful and the model with which I seem to get the best results. I have removed all handles (the curly part) from all the models I use and have sanded them to smooth and narrow point at the base of where the p-tab handle meets the body of the unit. I use a coating of Vaseline on my anus, as I find it's a bit thicker than the Maximus lube and it provides a nice coating to keep the Aneros slick. I also put a thin coat of Vaseline around the Aneros then coat it liberally with Maximus before I insert it. I use Alboline to keep my nipples lubricated and find that nipple stimulation has become extremely pleasurable as part of this experience.

From a sexual experience standpoint, I've been experimenting with anal play as a part of masturbation since I was a teen. I knew it felt good but never experienced anything like the pleasure I started to have when my wife began to massage my prostate. I've been married over 20 years and I've noticed that as I'm engaging in foreplay with my wife, the longer it goes, the more aroused in the anal area I become and that if my wife inserts a finger to manually massage my prostate, it's puts me in an altered state of consciousness (this is literal). The first time she did this years ago (without really preparing me in advance for what she was going to do) I shot my wade almost immediately. It was an incredible orgasm and anal play has been a very enjoyable part of our foreplay (for both of us) for many years. Over the years, I've also experimented with "edging" during masturbation and have been able to achieve multiple orgasms this way, so I'm familiar with the practice. I've never been able to duplicate this during intercourse, however...only masturbation.

From a physiological standpoint for men, I know as we become more and more sexually aroused, our prostates swell with semen in preparation for orgasm and ejaculation. From my experience, I've noticed the longer I can extend the time of foreplay before intercourse (or masturbation) the more intense this swelling and the resulting orgasm and ejaculation becomes and the more pleasurable anal/prostate stimulation becomes...not sure how long is optimum but it seems to me that with Aneros use, at the 30+ minute mark (counting resting after insertion, contractions with pleasurable sensations and so on), this change in physiology occurs that suddenly makes the Aneros very, very pleasurable.

One of the problems I think we have on this forum is that for men, we have a hard time describing to others what an orgasm feels like. I'm pretty sure it feels the same for most of us. But, it seems strange, that for something so common, there's no common point of reference. "Intensely pleasurable feeling" doesn't quite do it justice. And, I know as men, we don't talk about our feelings much and hardly ever talk to friends about the intimate details of our sexual feelings and practices and so this forum has been extremely helpful.

So, here's my attempt to describe what I'm feeling...

When I have a traditional orgasm (intercourse or masturbation), it resembles the feeling I get when I'm at the top of a roller coaster and going over the edge. This "cresting" feeling of excitement is then followed with pleasurable shooting sensation that begins in my genitals and spread down my legs, causing my muscles to quiver and convulse and so on. When I have "edged" I've been able to generate multiple events of this same "shooting pleasure" sensation. If it had a sound, it would be similar to an electrical bolt. This, to me, is orgasm. Ejaculation, related but distinct, is when it all comes to a glorious end.

Over the last several sessions of Aneros use, after about the 30 minute mark, I start to get a sensation radiating from my anus and genitals to my legs that is similar (although at this point not as intense) to what I feel with a traditional orgasm. I also get constant pulsating through my penis to where it feels like I''m ejaculating, but I'm not. And, this goes on in wave after wave for a long time. It's all very enjoyable and I could keep it going for hours, I'm sure. Even after I remove the Aneros, I still continue to have these pleasurable feelings.

So, is this the Super O is is there more. Does this sensation keep building to where it feels better than a traditional orgasm or is this it and it's just different in that it's not as intense but goes on for longer, so it's a trade off? I do notice it seems to keep building session after session.

Just interested in how other would describe what an orgasm feels like and what a Super O feels like and how it's different from a traditional o.

  • I want to say that at this point I've had a very wide variety of experiences that I would call super O's, all of which involve varying levels of pleasure and all of which are distinctly different.

I think what you are describing is a super O. There are a few things you say, such as "I start to get a sensation radiating from my anus and genitals to my legs that is similar (although at this point not as intense) to what I feel with a traditional orgasm." and you also say "where it feels like I''m ejaculating, but I'm not." I think that is saying enough right there. It sounds like a super O to me.

One thing you mention is that at this point it isn't as intense, and that probably has you thinking it may not be a super O. Well, from my experience Super O's aren't always really intense, but they sometimes are. Just keep at it, but don't overdo it be sure to take some time off to regain energy when needed. You definitely have crossed a big threshold already and seem to be on the path to experiencing something really far beyond.

    Hi newguy8762!

    I basically agree with binaryfellow . . .

In my humble opinion, you are having a form of Super-O's or Mini's and as has been said many times: There are ALL kinds or "flavors" of these wonderful dry orgasms!

One way I kind of measure mine (just for fun) is by imagining there is ejaculate shooting out and how I would rate that orgasm if it were a traditional??? I usually say Wow! it would be an amazing orgasm!

So, I DO think you are having "dry orgasms" and they WILL get better and better . . . to the point where you KNOW the orgasm is of a higher order than the traditional's you have had, but again some may not be! (they come in ALL shapes and sizes, or should I say they Cum???) But they are Multiples!

Just my thoughts over my morning coffee . . .

This definitely sounds like a Super O to me. The following is an excerpt from one of my posts in B's Keys... thread and will give you some idea of what this term and this phenomenon is all about. Given time, these sensations that you're having will grow to even greater intensity. Also check out the thread....What is exactly a Super O? authored by Buster.

For whatever it's worth, I am the person who established the use of the term Super O or Super Orgasm here in the forum. Over the years, I've seen several users refer to different experiences using this term. For a long time now I've strived to avoid making comments that could disturb the flow of any users journey, preferring to try to gently steer people when necessary. Rather than telling somebody that they have the concept all wrong, I've tried to introduce alternative ideas. In retrospect, perhaps the confusion over this needed more of a definitive correction.

In any event, the Super Orgasm (Super O) was name that I gave for an orgasm that stepped out of my normal frame of reference. The Super O is a non ejaculatory orgasm that may involve the entire lower abdominal and pelvic regions and may even extend more globally, into a whole body experience. Since this is a non ejaculatory event, there is no resolution phase the part of the male sexual response that begins the refractory period...our biological time-out during which arousal is not possible. What this means is that multiple orgasms are possible since one never falls from a certain level of arousal (effectively staying in the plateau phase between orgasms). The duration of the Super O may be several seconds to minutes longer than a traditional orgasm (particularly when multiples are involved).

Know this though,...Super O's come in all shapes and sizes. Some are small, some are large, some are single, some are multiple, some are centered in one area while others are in another. Some are particularly intense, while others are more subdued. Generally the experience is one of a surging pleasure wave that leaves one in a blissful yet energized state ...look Ma' no refractory period !

The existence of a tickling sensation in the penis, perineum, anus and prostate simultaneously has been reported on many occasions as well.

There may be outward physical signs of the event such as engorgment of the penis, producing a very stiff erection, and swelling of the glans or head of the penis. Often this swelling may cause the glans to change hue and take on a shiny appearance with the corona becoming larger and more red in color. There may be anal contractions accompanying the orgasm as well. Such contractions may be internal or external. There may be skeletal muscle contraction and rigidity as well. There may be emissions (a flow or oozing) of "precum" (Cowper's fluid) before, during and after such an event too.

That said, individuals may exhibit all or only a few of these signs.

There is normally some sense of release following a Super O, but be advised that it may not be of the same magnitude as it is following an ejaculation. Why? Because part of what accounts for the feeling of release is the precipitous drop-off of arousal at the onset of the resolution phase. With the Super O, since we're staying at or near the plateau level of arousal the fall off is much shorter yielding a less pronounced sensation of release. Many have reported feeling strangely energized following a Super O as opposed to the lethargy that accompanies an ejaculation. Again the reason is, is that one is still at the level of arousal following a Super O.

Yes, it can be confusing from a practical standpoint trying to get a handle on what the Super O is by establishing what it looks like. As I've stated in the past, I believe that the phenomena has its roots in the female sexual response. And as with the female experience, in many cases we are left to accept anecdotal reports as evidence of its (the Super O's) existence. (So it turns out that women aren't the only ones who can fake an orgasm!) But that's just the way that it is. I'm certain that the phenomenon could be scientifically documented with any number of tests; EKG, blood pressure, skin conductivity, etc., but to my knowledge this remains to be done. It is for this reason that I've been somewhat dubious of the videos that have circulated. Not that I'm suggesting that anyone has faked anything here, I accept that everyone is of good intentions, it's just that there seems to be a level of uncertainty as to what's going on. There is so much that depends on the actual sensations that one is experiencing that can't be revealed in this way.

As I've described before, the path to the Super O is a personal process. For some it occurs quite quickly, for others it evolves over time.

So how does one know the difference between the Super O and a more traditional experience? Interestingly enough many people who have experienced it, know it right away, because (as occurred with me) it is something that is outside of their frame of reference. It is, in many ways, a redefining experience. Others (particularly those who start with the more subdued experience) take more time to come to terms with what it's all about.

One last thing, it may be helpful for some of you to understand what a SUPER O IS NOT. The only thing that one can say with absolute certainty is that a Super O is not an ejaculatory orgasm! Occasionally, I've seen posts that lament the fact that there was no ejaculation and therefore no Super O?!! Clearly they're misunderstanding what it's about. In other posts I've read about hands-off ejaculation (sounds so tremendous... I wish I could do it myself) but this is not the Super O either. Ejaculation no matter how intense signifies a traditional orgasm and once this occurs a refractory period is inevitable. Refractory period = NO SUPER O.

Thanks for all the encouragement and instruction. Rereading B Mayfield's last post on this thread, I'm now pretty much convinced I've been having Super O's for a couple months but was expecting something a little closer to a traditional orgasm in intensity. The trade off with the Super O, of course, is that it goes on and on, so although not quite as intense for me as of yet, it's still extremely pleasurable and just keeps coming wave after wave of pleasure for over an hour. I have especially noticed the following sensations: "tickling feeling" in the base of my penis (inside my body), sense of being energized, peacefulness and well being after a session, pleasurable, electric wave-like sensations (such as occur with a traditional orgasm) running down my thighs. Also have begun to notice something I refer to as deep rectal contractions...a drawing in feeling that occurs further up in my rectum, past my anal sphincter, as if my body is trying to dawn deeper the Aneros and this occurs simultaneously with the same type of involuntary contractions in my penis and anus that occur with a traditional ejaculation, but in this case although I feel the pumping of seamen that normally accompanies this sensation, it doesn't generate any flow of seamen. I guess this is referred to as an anal orgasm. I also notice pleasurable orgasmic electric sensations around the outer area of my anus. I've regularly been having erection cycles during sessions, where my penis will become rock-hard, stay that way for ten minutes, then go to a partial stage or even limp, then come back again. I've also been waking up at night with rock hard erections and the sensation that my penis and prostate are pumping away, like occurs during a teenage wet dream. All in all, I've gotten to this place with use a couple times a week since July of, about 11 months, but like I said, I've been at this very enjoyable stage for about 3-4 months.

    Hey newguy8762,

I am glad to hear that you are content in the knowledge that you have been experiencing Super O's. For me, that was a relief. I realised that I was so bent on having one, that I was missing all sorts of signals. I appreciate your feedback on what was happening with your erections as well. I posted a question about that in my thread at the same time you were posting yours here.

I am in hopes that things start really moving for you now.
