Is the super-o all in the mind
  • Everybody knows that you can have orgasms without any physical contact. Wet dreams are often like this. I've used the aneros multiple times and there were no physical sensations that I couldn't replicate without using the aneros.

I can get tingly sensations inside my penis by just relaxing and contracting my PC muscles. I can also give myself shudders and make my whole body feel good by just relaxing and concentrating.

I just fail to see what it is exactly about the aneros. Are people just hypnotizing themselves into orgasm. If it works at massaging the prostate to give you strong pleasurable feelings, it shouldn't matter too much what I'm thinking. Much like scratching an itch makes it feel better or rubbing my penis makes it feel better unless I'm actively trying for the opposite. When I use the Aneros, there are no physical feelings that the Aneros gives me. What's the deal with that? If the answer is that I'm not relaxed enough or waiting for it,I could relax and make my arm feel great by relaxing but that is still in my mind.

I hope this post wasn't too confusing.

I think the mind definitely has a part to play, but the Aneros does produce intense feelings that I have yet to be able to replicate fully without an Aneros model. If you've only used an aneros a few times, I'd keep trying, I think the prostate needs to be awaken in a sense, becoming more sensitive and responsive with repeated use. My first couple weeks weren't anything special, but as the weeks went on my sessions got better and better, until last week when I reached an almost constant level of intense pleasure.

I'm still probably no where near super-o's, but I'm at a stage where it doesn't matter, I'm enjoying each session no matter if it is a dud session or not. The whole thing took me about 2 or so months for me reach, but some users develop very fast, especially those who open to these kind of experiences.

Edit: Though now that I think about it, some users have mentioned being able to achieve non-ejaculatory orgasms without the Aneros after a while, so perhaps the Aneros is more like training wheels for the body and mind? I don't know, just a random thought :P

    NattyLight,

You are quite correct in your understanding that the super-O is all in the mind. Without your mind’s full cooperation any orgasm is impossible. You are also correct that no physical stimulation is required to achieve an orgasm. However, to consciously achieve those kinds of orgasms requires significant mental effort and training to have your mind able to control your body so thoroughly. Most of us have neither the time nor inclination to dedicate to achieving those lofty goals of self mastery. Most of us in our western culture want instant gratification for our whims and are pretty lazy about self development.

I believe Brian Mayfield once labeled the Aneros device as “Tantric Training Wheels”. I understood that statement as meaning that this was a device to aid one in attaining sufficient knowledge about one’s own body as to experience the heightened levels of orgasm that one might experience from years of training in Tantric sex practices. To that end, Mr. Mayfield has dedicated an immense amount of time and effort sharing his knowledge helping others to also achieve the super-O experience. That is also the very reason for this Forums existence.

Since you feel that the physical sensations from using the Aneros can be replicated via other methods, perhaps that is the path you should follow. It is unfortunate that you have not received any pleasurable feelings from your Aneros usage, perhaps this tool and your mental attitude are not compatible. For some of us users, the learning curve can be quite steep and seemingly daunting, for others it is quite easy to find and adopt procedures that lead to super-O’s.

I suspect that you expected immediate “strong pleasurable feelings” from your Aneros use and now having not experienced them, you are feeling somewhat disappointed and perhaps feel a little cheated for a purchase that did not fulfill your desired outcome. At this point you may choose to discontinue Aneros use and move on to other life pursuits or you can endeavor to patiently learn more about this device and see if it just might prove to be as good as others have reported.

here's the way i look at it:
    - sexual stimulation of any kind feels good
    - that good feeling results in arousal, a physical phenomenon
    - arousal enables the stimulation to feel even better, because sensitivity increases
    - that leads to more arousal, etc
    - at some point, the arousal takes the form of muscular and glandular contractions, some subtle and some obvious
    - those contractions themselves feel very good and increase arousal
    - eventually the contractions and feelings go over the top, and become an orgasm

regularly, in sex, people don't deconstruct the phenomenon into these parts. they just look at it as stim leads to pleasure leads to orgasm, overlooking the fact that much of the pleasure they feel is from the internal action of their own body (contractions).

the aneros trains you to provide the sexual stimulation internally. instead of somebody else's body or some other part of your body doing it, the doing is done by the very parts involved, using the aneros. it amplifies your contractions into even more pleasure by directing them to the prostate, perineum, anus and rectum, which all have pleasure receptors of some kind.

    it is basically biofeedback.

as with all biofeedback, eventually you learn how to do what used to be involuntary (sexual arousal) voluntarily, even without the training device.

in my case, as with many others, i can become aroused to the point of orgasm just by wanting to, without the aneros. and, if i surround that with intense fantasies, then i have very intense orgasms.

but, to answer the original question, it takes time for your body to figure out how the aneros can give it pleasure. you absolutely cannot judge the aneros by your early experiences with it. that is the constant refrain of vast numbers of threads on this forum

I've only had the Aneros a little over a month. Almost instantly it unlocked a realm of my body I had no idea existed. It was like someone turned a key. It only took a few weeks to have the first Super-O. Partly I credit my early success to following the wealth of advice in these posts, but it could not have been done without the internal stimulation of the Aneros.

Several members have learned KSMO, and intrigued, I tried it (no Aneros inserted), although I was very skeptical. To my amazement, it was working on the first try on the third key sound! I strongly believe this would not have happened without the prior Aneros-induced awakening.

Today I had several Super-O's without any object or technique, simply being in a relaxed, concentrated state of mind and listening to "Ectasy" with head phones. Again, I credit Aneros.

"Chair orgasms" pleasantly distract me during the day.

For one already experienced in MMO, perhaps the Aneros has nothing to add, but personally I can't imagine more intense, pleasurable sensations than I have received from my Aneros.

  • I've tried the techniques in the sticky threads. They all seem to use relaxation and a constant rhythm. It all jsut seems like hypnosis. Are there any actual physical sensations that I can achieve without literally hypnotizing myself?

Although I don't really understand all of this mental stuff yet, when I insert my Helix, I am greeted with intense pleasure, so yes you do get actual physical sensations. However as I mentioned earlier, it took me about 2 months to reach this point. I don't hypnotize myself, all I do is clear my mind of distractions and focus on what I am feeling.

Though Darwin's idea about using arousal for the orgasms makes me wonder if I am even on the right track. My recent break through has been more relaxed frame of mind and using my Helix to pin-point spots that make me squirm rather than trying to arouse myself.

    ashlen-

there are lots of ways to make this thing hum:
    - physical (like you just described w/ your helix)
    - arousal (like i have been describing in many recent posts)
    - meditative
    - combinations of the above

if you are getting pleasure by doing what you are doing then, dude, you're on the right track. you can always mix in other stuff as you evolve.

I suppose that makes sense, it just gets so confusing sometimes. Especially during the days between sessions, I tend to spend too much time overthinking things waiting for my next session. :P

Interesting thread you guys. If it makes you feel better try not thinking about it as "hypnosis" but as tantric meditation. I do believe that is more what you are speaking of here. There is a whole community of people who believe in this type of meditation with excellent results. Your mind really is the most important tool in your quest for success. No need to fight that feeling, learn to embrace it and the sensations you will achieve are limitless. Go beyond .. ;)

Do some reading online if you want more information, there is plenty out there. Here is one paragraph that I found quickly:

"For men, when you are self-pleasuring, be open to a softer, more feminine experience. This is often the opening needed to discover multiple, full body orgasms. As you increase your pleasure, let thoughts of peace and joy cross your mind. Don't force it, just let it come. With practice, this will happen more often and you'll begin to last longer and feel deeper capacity for pleasure."

  • Nikki you are right.

    Nikki":-

When i experience pleasure waves (very intense ones), i kind of moan like a girl would, it was kinda scary at first because all i could think of was "When was i gonna be penetrated next", i just wanted to be fucked by this thing (espeially the progasm). it was worrying as it felt gayyish. But i know that im straight and its a part of my sexual emotional developmenrt.
And i wouldnt give it up for anything (even 10 million-Money can never substitute intense feeelings like that) .

I just feel sorry for those who are missing out because of peer presure.

I'm beginning to understand this more and more each day. Previously, I've been obsessed with achieving MMOs, but recently I've been learning that by trying to force it, I've been pushing it away. Rather, instead of trying to use the knowledge of how my body use to work, I am learning to just enjoy what I am feeling and by doing that, the pleasure increases on its own accord. I am basically letting go of desire and just letting bliss carry me down a river of pleasure, though I still try to steer from time to time, but I'm slowly learning to stop trying and let go. All in all, it is a very feminine experience, and that is where I think I've struggled as I held to my old masculine frame of mind.

What a great thought Ashlen. "Let bliss carry you down a river of pleasure." Send me an email and I will send you my "bliss" audio for you to try if you like.
