Anti depressants

I take an anti-depressant to help me sleep at night because I have combat related PTSD. This drug has greatly increased my ability to sleep. However, one side effect is that it could delay ejaculation. I am beginning to think that using this drug could be a factor in why I can't seem to get over the hump when using an aneros. I am wondering if anyone has a comment on this problem.

    Indy,

There are many different types of anti-depressants. Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvol are some of the most popular ones today. These particular drugs belong to a class of medications known as SSRI's(seritonin-specific reuptake inhibitors) Sexual disfunction is one of the most common and problematic side effects seen with SSRI's. This generally involves a decrease in libido, and has been known to occur with a great many of the individuals taking these medications. A smaller group of patients experience true impotence including inability to orgasm, erectile dysfunction, or ejaculatory failure. These effects are reversible (once one stops taking the medication), and can sometimes be managed with the addition of other medications, a change to a different class of antidepressant, and occasionally by switching to a different SSRI.

If your sexual function is fairly normal outside of these Super explorations, I wouldn't mess around with changing your regimen. After all, you said that this is helping you sleep and being rested is essential ...for the Super O...for life! With all things being equal, it's just as possible that you're experiencing the same difficulties that any other (non-medicated) newbies might have. Given that I don't know how long you've been at it and what type of results that you've seen... it's hard for me to judge. I suggest that you look through the forum a bit here. If you see comments that are consistent with your experience thus far, then I think it should tell you something.
