To contract or to not contract ?

    Hi all,

I've bought the MGX and Helix about 4 months ago.
Practiced generally speaking +/- 2 times a week, each session +/- 2 hours.
Read a lot of interesting stuff on this forum.

Sensations are improving but no super O even not a small O ... :-(
But that's okay as I read that it may take a while...

Main question is this one: I'm not sure if I experience involuntaries contractions or not... Because I have no idea whatsoever what they look like!
    Seems strange no?

I will try to describe what I feel.
After playing a while with the aneros, I have the impression that inside me "someting" is contracted but at the tip of the aneros not at the base; also those "contractions" are steady not contracting/decontracting; I'm much more aware of the presence of the aneros inside like my "inner something" is getting smaller than when I inserted the aneros. Are those the famous automatic contractions everybody is talking of ? Or are you supposed to feel them at the entry, meaning the base of the aneros ?

Also those automatic contractions are they very faint, subtle ones, or strong ones?
Is a sort of movement, contracting-relaxing, or a steady contraction ?

Something else, from time to time I have the impression that something inside ( prostate ?) is "sleeping", I mean the same sensation you can have when you sllep on an arm, or hand for instance and blood cannot circulate correctly anymore, is this a good sign or a bad sign ?

Tks for helping my confused body ;-)

    JohnQ,

The involuntary contractions that are most often cited here in the forum, are anal contractions. And yes, they occur nearer to the base. These contractions may occur as precursors to a large event (Super O) or not. The physical experience is itself much like a twitch or small spasm, and they may be subtle or rather intense, depending on the individual. These contractions may be felt internally in ones anus and prostate and externally as well. On account of the Aneros' abutment tab, these contractions may be felt on the perineum (perineal accupressure point) with some cooresponding sensation in the penis too. The design of the Aneros makes this possible generating a sensory phenomenon known as a positive feedback loop.

With respect to the sensations that you're experiencing near the head of the unit (an inner narrowing), this may be occuring as a result of a rectal contraction or of continuous anal contraction which is translating into pressure on your prostate. Sometimes the sensation of prostate stimulation may be perceived this way.

On a different note, with regard to the numbing sensation that you've reported; could you supply a little more information? When does this sensation occur? Is it in the middle of your sessions, or some time after, or do you have this feeling on an ongoing basis, whether or not you've been involved with the Aneros? Does this sensation ever dissipate, and if so when?

Several things may be responsible this, over-stimulation for one. Another cause might be an indication of congestion in your prostate as related to prostatitis. If you could fill me in a bit more, I might be able to give you some leads to follow.

    Tks for your reply B.

Numbing never occured without aneros, nor after a session.
It happened from time to time in some sessions when contracting for a long time ( no idea whatsoever what long means but it felt like long anyway...), it dissapear when releasing the contraction; it's not unpleasant just a bit strange.

Something else when contracting I feel the aneros pulled inside, is this the correct way to contract or it means that I'm contracting anus & rectum and thus doing wrong ?

When reading your description I remembered that I experienced that a few weeks ago; exactly 2 contractions ( not more not less) verrrry pleasant but unable to reproduce since then.

    Tks for your help.

    JohnQ,

Sounds like you are over-contracting (too hard, too long or both). I think you mentioned your sessions are running about 2 hours or so, you might want to consider cutting them down to 60 to 90 minutes instead. And/or scale down the intensity and length of time that you hold contractions. If none of this works you may want to go to one session per week. You don't want to do anything that has your prostate going numb on you...at that point you've gone over the top.

With respect to the unit being drawn inward as a result of your contractions,..it is absolutely normal. As a matter of fact it is precisely how the Aneros functions. Your anal contractions drive the device inward such that the body of the massager engages your prostate.

Stay with it! Also don't be as concerned about making involuntaries occur, rather think about generating pleasant sensations. Explore and let the sensations lead you.

    BF you're a terrrrrific guy.
I've read a lot of your interventions and you find allways the good tone and the intelligent answer! Moreover you always take time to answer newbie questions trying to help the best way you can.

    You're THE man really.

I will try to follow your suggestions.
It's true that some sessions are long but I've always the impression that after the next contraction "something" will happen you know.
I feel like a kid discovering his new toys and wanting to see all his benefits as fast as possible.
But obviously once you discovered everything ... there's nothing anymore to discover and there's a risk that the new toy will join on a shell all the other "new toys" ;-).

Anyway I will post if any success encounterd.

Ok following BF'advise I started another session yesterday with a goal of maximum 90 mins.
Lubricated, inserted tool, after 10 mins felt relaxed enough and started to make the contractions/breathing exercises.
I decided as well to focus on anus and not on prostate.
I really focused on just anal contractions [ opposed to more rectal contractions I used before)by thinking that I wanted to break the unit at its base, it helped me a lot to focus on that particular muscle.
Anyway after 5 or 6 deep contractions and going back to a minimum base contraction, I felt some twitching in the anus.
Those were light and slow but for a long period of time, when they were fading away after 1 or 2 deep contractions again they went back. Also during those twitching I felt the aneros moving in and out very slowly but very sensual I must say.
I believe aso that it helped me a lot to try to "visualize" the movement of the aneros and the contractions of the anus.
So far so good I suppose.
Although Aneros was moving it didn't apply any pressure to the prostate nor the pressure point.
If I was trying to contract the PC muscle or rectum to push more firmly the aneros against the prostate and pressure point then I was loosing anal contractions !!!
I had a choice to make but the two together was impossible.

Also I noticed that during this session, which was different from previous ones, I had only one erection compared to several for the other sessions.
The anal twitching were nice but nothing extatic I must say.

o, a new experience for sure but generates new interrogations.
Am I on a good way? Does this rings a bell to some happy users of you?
Do I have to continue to focus only on anal contractions and let th erest 9 if any) happen or with time will I learn to contract PC without loosing anal twitching ?

    Any advise will be appreciated.
Next session foreseen in 2 days.
I'm curious to see if I will be able to reproduce this or not...

    JohnQ,

You say you were not getting any contact of your prostate or your perineum from deep contractions? Did you change your body position from your last sessions? A hard deep anal contraction should make for contact at both places... I'm curious, what changed from your previous session that you think may account for this....?

Just so we are clear in our terms here; a true PC contraction is the kind of contraction that one makes when one is stopping the flow of urine. An anal contraction , is a contraction of ones sphincter as is felt when one "clinches" (it closes the anus shut and pulls in at the same time). A rectal contraction is typified by the sensation of "pushing out" as during a bowel movement. For most people engaging a PC contraction may also involve a certain amount of simultaneous anal contraction (these muscles groups are closely connected).

    BF,

Obviously I was not clear, when making deep voluntaries anal contractions I do feel the pressure against my prostate and the perineum but it's killing the unvoluntaries twitching of the anus.
The unvoluntaries ( or anyway what I believe as unvoluntaries)are not stimulating the prostate nor the perineum, I just feel the twitching and the small amplitude movements of the aneros.

At that stage I was unable to do the two together, creating twitching and stimulating the prostate. If I made a deeper contractions of pc or anus muscle during unvolontaries those stopped immediately.

Is it more clear like that ?

    Another session another sensation.

The other night at the beginning of the session I don't know what I've done but suddenly and very quickly I had this huge erection and huge plesurable feeling in my prostate like I was on the edge of ejaculating.
But unable to go over the edge ... :-(((

Unable also to reproduce this sensation since then but it left me with some very nice memories indeed!

    The journey continues I suppose.

    JohnQ,

Forgive me for not responding sooner (holiday and all..). First, (and this is probably obvious to you now), when your anus goes into involuntary contraction, don't hammer yourself with a strong contraction...if that extinguishes the involuntaries, (and it does with most people) don't go there. Your last post here is promising indeed, ...yes this is where you want to be.

Once you get to the place of involuntary contraction, rather than charge ahead, ease back into subtle contractions, if the involuntaries are creating a pleasure wave....ride it, no matter how small, but do it with subtle changes in your voluntary contracting .

At the point that you're at, I think it's important for you to start thinking in terms of PC contractions That is, your anus is involuntarily contracting...but you start voluntary PC's. It's valuable to practice these before hand so you have some concept of the difference before you get to this place. As I've outlined previously it is difficult to execute a contraction that is exclusively PC. Again, the reason is that these muscle groups are closely connected. So don't be overly concerned with it, but know that in general terms an anal contraction is going to send the massager inward creating greater contact with your prostate and a PC will do this to a much lesser extent.

Furthermore, when you get to this point where you feel that something is imminent, it is essential that you engage the mental component. Visualize on an area 2 inches below your navel, deep within your abdomen....see (in your mind's eye) sensation growing there.

    Stay with it!

    BF,

    Tks for your reply.

Indeed it is difficult to separate PC and anal contractions.

At this stage when I contract PC muscles I'm also contracting anus.
Impossible to contract the first one without contracting the second one.
    Maybe some day?

At this stage as well when I experience involuntaries they are really slow, very light ones and they don't stimulate my prostate. If I want to stimulate my prostate I can do it only by making a stronger volontary anal contractions.

A new night a new experience.

After inserting my helix I was relaxing quietly on my bed.
After 2 or 3 minutes doing absolutely nothing I felt the helix moving slowly by itself, it was really subtle but I sensed some very faint anal movements and helix moving accordingly.
Then as helix was moved deeper, I got this erection followed by this very pleasurable feeling. A bit later I had this sensation that all my bottom was "sparkling" ( this is the best description I can give) really nice also.
Then I unvoluntary moved my body a very little bit and everything stopped.
I relaxed again and back it was. If I tried to contract something but by doing so I killed the sensations. So 3 times, nice but not O's ( nor big nor small).

Anybody else had a similar experience ? Helix moving without prior making voluntaries contractions? or the "sparkling" effect ?
Am I on the good way or is a wrong way ?
