Differentiating sphincter, anal canal and PC muscles
  • I've done anerosless sessions for 18 months before I'd heard of Aneros. I call my sessions meditations and they are loosely based on exercises I learned at a Tantra workshop. Through those meditations I learned a lot about my PC muscle. When I got my MGX, just a couple of days ago I discovered that I had not been using my anal muscles. This was a real awakening for me. I think now of the PC muscle as being "on top" while the anal muscles are underneath, and I'm looking forward to adding the anal muscles to my meditation.

The aneros forces (encourages?) me to add the anal muscles to my awareness. I wonder if those who learn on the Aneros disregard their PC muscle as I disregarded the anal muscles?

From my viewpoint, I think you've got that absolutely right. For two years before I started with the Aneros, my Uro had me on regular Kegels to strengthen my pelvic floor, particularly my PCs. My wife helped by coaching me. Thought I'd be the PC champ. Nope... took me several months to 'muscle-up' and gain anal-PC balance and differentiation.

Just to 'cheer you up' -- once you get anal & PC balance, there will be some more muscles in your rectum to 'cultivate.'

However, more important that any muscling-up is to maintain the excellent meditation and relaxation skills that you already possess.

    regards and blessings
