New guy with a couple questions

Hi there. Just recently joined to ask a few questions.

My Background: After a couple years of enjoying fleshlights I heard about prostate toys on the fleshlight forum. I wasn't really experienced with anal at the time but like any other man I'm always interested in exploring new pleasurable sensations. So I decided to get my feet wet with the helix. I followed the directions on the package, used it a little less than a dozen times and didn't really get anywhere with it aside from the ramped up dick masturbation. I then jumped up to a *** hoping the added stimulation of the vibrator would get me there. Ultimately it didn't, and it was rather uncomfortable in certain positions because of how aggressively angled it is but one upside is the ribs on it felt pretty nice when inserting it and taking it out. Is mentioning competitor's products taboo? My apologies if this is the case. I wish the vice was around back then because it looks to be a little more comfortable than the vibro and the fact that it uses a standard battery type that can be recharged is awesome. I just recently started up again after a year of them sitting in my closet and found this site (forum and wiki) and have been reading through it. It's definitely pointed me more in the right direction. I've only had 4 sessions so far but I'm already feeling the perineum stimulation a good bit and have been somewhat feeling some pleasurable buildups in my pelvis. I'm not using the vibro anymore to help build up my sensitivity with the helix. I'm still a little lost about the precise location of the prostate in my mind's eye which makes focusing on it a little difficult. I've also tried hypnaerosession. The trance music and moaning was very nice but the hypnosis suggestions didn't really work so much. The other suggested music was nice too.

    Questions:

    1) Up until now I've been using ID Pleasure as my lube. I didn't know glycerin could act as an irritant. I haven't really had any burning sensations but I'm considering trying another lube just to remove any possibility of reaction from the equation. The only other lube I have that is glycerin free is gun oil h2o. Has anybody used this?

    2) Towards the end of the last session I finally started feeling some bit of pleasure inside that was stirred on by making very small contractions. The only problem is every time I became aroused to a certain point my dick would be come erect and I ultimately would either loose the feeling (inside) right away or gradually over half a minute to a minute. I could never push past this point. I was lying on my back so I'm pretty sure there's nothing stimulating my dick externally. Any suggestions?

Thanks very much for the help.

I can answer the first question: Slippery Stuff Gel; it's been tested safe for extended anal use, and it's non-staining, very slippery, and lasts a very long time.

I'll leave the second question to those who've had better luck than I in getting to the Super-O.

Agree slippery stuff is a great glycerin free lube. Nice consistency and gud cleanup. Lube is a whole field of discussion here. Tastes really vary. If you're not getting any irritation or bowel action from glycerin I'd not worry.

a- forget 'pushing past anything.' Accept what you get, cherish the feelings and let your bod and brain soak in the pleasure.
b- random erections happen -- just your brain randomly hunting about for an appropriate response -- ignore the penis and the brain will try some other approach. Some guys hit the nail on the first session. Others take months (nine months for me). Enjoy along the way and don't push, punch, spindle or mutilate.
c- Try different body positions. Some models work better for some gents in a particular position. For example, Helix doesn't work for me in a back position. Other guys find Helix better on their back than on their side.
    d- Above all, BREATHE !!!

    Hello Rayne,

And welcome to the Aneros forums. :)

Badger and Rook have given you most of the answers you need. I'll just add a few things.

If you're not getting any irritation or bowel action from glycerin I'd not worry.

    I totally agree with this.

The only other lube I have that is glycerin free is gun oil h2o. Has anybody used this?

I have not. But you own it already, so why not give it a try? By the way, you are injecting lube into your rectum (a.k.a pre-lubing) right?

The only problem is every time I became aroused to a certain point my dick would be come erect and I ultimately would either loose the feeling (inside) right away or gradually over half a minute to a minute.

Often times, but not always, when I get erections that cover up or interfere with prostate sensations, I usually find that I'm tensing up and not breathing. So I then relax and start breathing again, and the erection goes away and prostate sensations return.

a- forget 'pushing past anything.' Accept what you get, cherish the feelings and let your bod and brain soak in the pleasure.

Yep, you can't force this to happen like you can with masturbating. Good advice here!

Well I had another long session early this morning (It's amazing how quickly time seems to fly by when you're using one). Went pretty well I believe I may have had a mini-o. I felt a warming sensation in my dick as well as a slight tingling there then followed by a feeling like cumming but no ejaculate. It was a bit weaker than usually cumming but still felt nice. I only really able to pull it off once I got semi-close another time then slightly less close a third. Thanks for the tips guys.

By the way does aneros.com ever have sales on their stuff? If so when do they usually and how?

[QUOTE=Badger;93068]I can answer the first question: Slippery Stuff Gel; it's been tested safe for extended anal use, and it's non-staining, very slippery, and lasts a very long time.

Do you get yours at local stores or just online? I'll be doing some Christmas shopping on amazon soon so maybe I'll toss it in with that order. Thanks.

I just took a closer look at the label. It says for topical use so I think I'll stick with ID for now just to be safe. No I don't have a lube syringe or an enema kit which I realize would probably make things easier and waste less lube. But I've been able to stay fairly well lubed and haven't had much problem with messy waste so I think I'll hold off on that until I have more money.

I find internal lubing to be very important. I have the syringe kit they sell on this site but have found it to be hard to assemble sometimes.
I bought a kit off amazon.com and have been much happier with it. It came with three assemblys and was only a few bucks.

    Hello Rayne, :)

They do. But to the best of my recollection, it seems to be an occasional thing with no particular repeating time of year.

I was unable to find the bottle of Slippery Stuff Gel that I use for non-Aneros purposes locally after searching three pharmacy's. So I bought mine from amazon.com.

Like Thhn mentioned, internal lubing is very important. It's also been said in these forums that you can find these syringes with tip, locally at your pharmacy as a infant feeder. The following thread is a good read about the importance of internally lubing your rectum(pre-lubing).

Are you talking about Slippery Stuff? I just looked at the label and there's nothing that says anything about topical use only. It's been used for medical proceedures (i.e., internal use), so I'm thinking maybe Vaseline. The man who discovered it, Robert Chesebrough, ate a spoonful every day since he was in his twenties, until his death at 94. So I dare it's safe to say that it's fairly safe for internal use, just not the vagina.

    Hey folks
It's important to remember what country one is in when discussing labels and approved uses with someone in another country.

In some cases, a brand-name product will differ between one country and another nation next door (for years, Prep-H ointment was formulated differently for Canada than for the U.S. and the approved uses were different between Canada and the U.S.)

Regulatory and approval agency requirements differ between the U.S. and EU. Some countries are 'fussier' than others.

just thot you'd luv knowing this :-\ ....... rook

    Hello Badger, :)

I don't normally correct peoples grammar, so I'll apologize for being too intrusive ahead of time. But I suspect you made an unintentional error that severely changes the meaning of what you are saying.

So I dare it's safe to say that it's fairly safe for internal use, just not the vagina.

Would I be correct in assuming you actually meant "...not just the vagina." ?

What I meant was that Vaseline is not safe for vaginal use, due to its petroleum base; it won't allow the vagina to clean itself properly.

Ah! Thank you for the clarification Badger! I thought you were still talking about Slippery Stuff Gel at that point of your post. That makes sense now. :)

Just thought I'd give an update. I haven't gotten any more dry-o's since that one time. I think my biggest problem like a lot of people is chasing the orgasm. It's hard to stay focused, aroused and not do anything. I got that slippery stuff gel and it turns out I do have a bit of an allergic reaction to ID lubes because it definitely felt a little more comfortable using that stuff. I also got a lube shooter which does help waste a little less lube and give small enemas. I've also been reading threads and have gotten some great ideas and tips.

I have a couple of questions:

    1) Is there any real difference between the progasm and progasm ice aside from being more environmentally friendly?
I'm considering getting an mgx and progasm/ice to help give more variety and something to compare to. I realize the progasm is a helluva step up from the helix but I do have another toy that's a bit thicker than the helix so I think I'll manage just fine.

    2) I find even with plenty of lube that my helix doesn't really slide in and out of my anus unless I bear down a bit. Is this normal? I'm pretty sure I'm relaxed. It still moves a little when I breathe, just not sliding in and out of my anus.

Thanks for all the help. It's much appreciated.

I have the progasm as well as the ice and I see no difference other than the looks of it.
If you were getting a second model, I would suggest the progasm - that's been my favorite for a long time. I think the mgx and helix are very similar in size. With that said,,, I get pretty much nothing from the helix and the mgx, which was my first model, is also a favorite. I don't thinnk the mgx gets the best reviews on this site but I start out almost every session with that one and then move up from there

So you use the mgx to warm up? How so, to get yourself accustomed to having something up there before you move up to the progasm or to help wake up your prostate or both?
How is your experience with both the mgx and progasm?
Do you use the helix at all anymore or have you given up on it?

I have found that if I start out with the progasm, it hurts. I find that starting out with a smaller model and moving up I don't have that issue. I have no problem with the size of the progasm, I guess I just need a warm up.
the mgx was my only model for about a year and it is the only model that I have had an actual orgasm (dry) with (my 3rd time) never had one since and that was almost four years ago. much bliss, but no orgasm. I like the mgx - I get lots of movement but I like the progasm much better.
the helix, for some reason, has never done anything for me. Same holds true for the peridise, although I do use those for the convienience when sitting at the computer or even out in public. I even used the peridise at a spa one time during a professional massage. (not much happened)

I wouldln't say I have given up on the helix as I do use it from time to time, but to this day, it still hasn't generated much for me.
My typical session is to use several models during the session. I lay them out like a surgeon might lay out his instruments. When the feeling subside from one model, I swap it out for another. I find that the most intense feelings come within 30 min or so of insertion, so during my sessions, I may go through several models more than once. I don't know if this is hindering my moving forward, but it makes for the most pleasant sessions for me.

    Hello Rayne, :)

    1) Is there any real difference between the progasm and progasm ice aside from being more environmentally friendly?

My understanding from the reading I've done here is that the Progasm Ice has a smoother surface than the standard Progasm making it a bit more agile when inserted. Otherwise the rest is just cosmetic differences. And I've never heard anything about the Progasm Ice being more environmentally friendly. What is the source of that information?

I'm considering getting an mgx and progasm/ice to help give more variety and something to compare to. I realize the progasm is a helluva step up from the helix but I do have another toy that's a bit thicker than the helix so I think I'll manage just fine.

Those are two fine choices. I'd personally go with the Ice over the standard Progasm. But that's not through personal experience. Only through what I have read.

    2) I find even with plenty of lube that my helix doesn't really slide in and out of my anus unless I bear down a bit. Is this normal? I'm pretty sure I'm relaxed. It still moves a little when I breathe, just not sliding in and out of my anus.

Part of this is learning to feel subtle sensations that comes as your start to re-wire. The other part is likely building anal muscle strength that also comes with time and practice. Honestly, typical movements of the Aneros are quite small. Give yourself time and plenty of practice to start to feel and understand these new sensations.

It's in the description on the progasm ice's product page "The production of this plastic also emits less gases than other types, making the manufacturing process better for the environment."

I'm not an environmentalist or anything it's just the only difference mentioned between the two.

    No problem.

Still puttering along. Still no dry-o's since that one time but I think I'm definitely making progress. I've noticed whenever I go to get up or shift myself around I sometimes feel a small spark of electricity go off in my body. I'm not sure if it's brought on from tension being released or if it's my mind being drawn towards something other than focusing on pleasure down there.

After reading about your breakthrough thhn with stroking the toy I decided to give that a try. I definitely felt some kind of buildup around my pelvis area when I was able to pull things together. I think it greatly helped give me an idea of what to look for next time so I wanted to say thank you.

One problem I have is there's a place down there where, it's hard to describe, but it feels kind of like a center of energy. If I focus on it I sometimes get some electrical charge and nice feelings. The thing is though many people have been describing the prostate as being lower than they expected. Like fairly close to their sphincter. Height-wise mine feels close to my belly button or just below. I think it's my colon I'm feeling. Often times when I pay attention to it I get a gas buildup and need to fart. I'm sure what I eat probably doesn't help. But it also feels like that's around the area I should be paying attention to because it feels nice and there's this feeling of energy there. I tried using a finger and feeling around for my prostate a while back but I'm sort of lost. The rubbing of the toy though I think helped a bit. I was kind of wrapped up/excited by the feelings when I did it so I'll have to pay closer attention to try to hone in on the prostate.

I would say it was the stroking of the aneros that brought on my first big orgasm. However, for me, I think it was more about the timing. when I stroked the aneros I was in a very heightened state of arousal and probably on the edge of an orgasm. this technique has worked for me in the two sessions I have had since my first big one. It is a very gentle stroking and rubbing that works for me

Still climbing the mountain. It's difficult to resist focusing around my pelvis. I find whenever I do I eventually start tensing up to try and urge on those nice feelings. Also hard not to jerk off and cum at the end of sessions when I'm all warmed up.
