too freaked out to continue psychadelic journey

So, now when i use my progasm, its so intense that I hear a whistling / crackling sound that comes and goes with the waves of going through my body. It is very similar to the sound that happens upon smoking DMT. I'm afraid I'm going to have a psychedelic experience if I keep my eyes closed. I have had one before, where I saw this indian looking guy in a green tunnel. It freaked me out and I snapped out of the whole thing when I saw him.

The feeling is so powerful that it freaks me out and i think I'm gonna die if I continue. Or at least, i'm afraid my body is going to respond and release DMT. I know I probably won't die, but during the middle of the session those thoughts run through my head. If I really am having conscious altering experiences, what is the cause? I can only look at DMT release, just like what happens when you dream, or when you die.

If I keep my eyes closed, i could let the experience take me away to an even crazier place. Something i can't really imagine. As of now, it gets to be too intense, so I'll open my eyes up and have a lesser super O. Its still a crazy super O, it just could be MORE crazy if I kept my eyes closed. I also consciously start to think thoughts so I can tone the experience down a bit.

I hope one day I have the courage to see what happens, but man... at the time I just really think i would die.

Also, to anyone struggling... quality lube is the key. Go to a sex store and buy anal lube. good lube makes a huge difference, probably moreso than anything. Aneros should sell an affordable lube as well I think.
  • Suggestion: stop using psychadelic drugs. Like almost everyone, I've played around with pot a little in the past. But DMT? Isn't your body only supposed to release that before death (the cause of near-death OOB/"tunnel of life",etc experiences)? We talk about how a piece of plastic can cause such dramatic "rewiring" - just think how much damage could be done by the habitual use of such a potent chemical. Jesus!

Also, I'm pretty sure it's release is caused by extended oxygen deprivation - I certainly don't think it could be released by dreams or sexual experiences.

I'm not using psychadelic drugs. I'm saying the aneros induces a psychadelic experience and the sound is like the same sound heard when smoking DMT.

Sorry that I jumped to conclusions. I assumed that familiarity with the subjective condition of DMT use implied experience with that condition. I don't yet have personal rewiring experience, nor an adequate understanding of neurochemistry to make applicable speculations, but I *highly* doubt DMT is the culprit, here.

    Hello harlo & welcome,
Visual and auditory expeirences do happen to some of us during approach to orgasm. The following might help you get through this -- I've found that there's life a the other side. (note that I've not Super-Oed and my orgasms are brief, usually lasting less than 20 seconds)

I get the auditory effects first, followed immediately by the strong visual as the orgasm develops. Here are some experiences and suggestions...

My heavy auditory and visual effects happen when I get too intense or ramp up my arousal rapidly. Try using the Aneros as a prostate marker with minimal contractions and find other stim points that you can mentally redirect to your prostate and into your Dan Tien. Focus on breathing through all this.

My auditory effects are a strong "basilar" pressure wave (I'd guess this corresponds to the sound you hear) that lasts 2-3 seconds and is followed by a pure tone as the p-wave moves through my head. The pressure wave is about what I experience in an express elevator dropping 40-50 floors or in an very fast aircraft dive. The tone lasts about 5 seconds as the pressure eases. I usually get a strong jaw clench and some forehead/eyebrow twitching during this phase of the p-wave/mini-O progression. Normal hearing fades out while this happens and I hear little in my earphones. Again, while pretty intense, it's over in 10 seconds and the visual stuff starts. The brain is getting conflicting inputs during this -- pressure is increasing but there's no change in 'g;' so, with a strong fear response, one may experience a sense of confusion, terror, perhaps panic and perhaps instant nausea.

My responses are not quite as intense as yours, probably because my fear and fight-flight instinct isn't overly strong. I'm able to 'fall' through these effects and make it to the other side in about 10-15 seconds. It sounds like your fear/fight-flight sense is much stronger than mine. If you can make it through the intense visual, you'll probably find peace and joy on the other side.

As the auditory tone fades, the visual side becomes intense, mine is an arabesque pattern of colors (analogous to your guy in the green tunnel). This accompanies the peak of the orgasm. Head feels like someone it treating it like a sock and turning it inside out. This visual transitions into Cortical Spreading Depression (CSD). I used to think this was Opthamic Migraine but the symptoms are identical to those for CSD. This throws a wet blanket over the orgasm and the refractory time on the CSD is about 20 minutes. I need about another 30 minutes rest before I'm GTG again.

So, I'd suggest riding it out and finding out what's on the other side. Since your fight-flight description is pretty strong, it might be a good idea to team up with a 'guide' to reassure you during your first trips through this path. Best bet is a spouse or trusted friend. Ask for some body massage to relax you after the session.

Does this have anything to do with dimensions of real reality or are you literally talking about increased levels of pleasure that are within the brain. This other side you speak of. And this guy he is seeing, this is his mind creating this guy correct, not accessing a guy that is actually out there? Right?

May sound silly to some, put I've been hearing about universal consciousness and astral projection and dimensions, so Ima thinking is this real and is the Aneros experience taking people places???????

I've been active in the field of lucid dreaming and astral projecting/OBE'ing for about 12 years now. I've had many conscious astral projections/ OBE's. If you've never experience these things it's pretty damn interesting to say the least. I've seen/been to some amazing places and have communicated with many different forms of beings.
But one thing that baffles me to this day no matter how many times I change my mind on the issue is...
Am I experiencing something outside myself? Or is everything that I"m experiencing in these states of being just self created? Am I really communicating with "real" outside my own consciousness beings/locations that exist whether I exist or not or am I creating them and the places that I travel to during my expeditions?
It's really difficult to be certain at this point in time for me no matter how "real" the actual experience is.
But then again what's considered real? If I experience something and have a memory of it that I can reflect on for the rest of my life then it seems pretty damn real to me. Just because another person can't see it or feel what I felt doesn't really make it any less real to me.
The work that goes on in this forum can be likened to the same and in a way the many concepts that apply to astral projection/OBE's apply to aneros and aneroless sessions. As in p-waves/ mini o'/ super o's all are a balance of relaxation and mentally inducing them. It takes exactly the same to have an astral projection. The pleasure we feel during aneros/aneroless sessions is self created. We create that reality just as an astral projector creates his/her reality. The same kind of mental blocks that come up during aneros sessions are the same that come up while attempting to astral project.
But before I completely keep rambling on and on...

Harlo- My question to you is what exactly are you afraid of? You're not going to physically die from this experience. If anything it would be your ego dying for that time being. This seems like a plausible fear. The ego doesn't like to lose it's dominant control it's used to having.
here's a quote I've always liked... "be afraid without being terrified"
This thinking may help you to creep down the path to experience the wonders beyond without being too terrified to turn back in panic.

I think one can 'over-harden' one's amygdala by 'unhealthy' suppresion of fear, sometimes in the name of 'macho' and/or 'courage.'

I'd ask, "Doesn't the fear and that fight-or-flight uncertainty within your amygdala at the onset of orgasm heighten the experience ?"
