I used to have rectal pains before I used the Aneros.
  • I'm a young man and for 4 years before I started using the Aneros I would get rectal pains at a minimum of at least once every 3 months, especially and most times in the middle of the night which woke me up out of my sleep. My mom said she got these sometimes too. A colonoscopy found nothing wrong with me. My ex-boyfriend who was abusive used to have rough penetrative sex with me. I don't know if that was a factor. Sometimes I thought it was due to hard stool or constipation. The three most common times I would get these is when I was sleeping or had an intense orgasm (ejaculation) or a certain intensity of a bowel movement. I thought I might have hemmroids but I didn't and don't. Maybe these sensations had something to do with the prostate? I've always had a healthy prostate though and still do. These pains could be mild to extremely intense. It felt at times like someone was sticking a fat, 8 inch, unlubed metal pole up in me. It could wake me up out of a sleep and keep me up the rest of the night, even the mildest pains. When the pains were intense I'd moan and hyperventilate, but took deep breaths and used my mind to help me ease the pain. The pain would sometimes get to a climax where I felt nauseas, became real hot, and started sweating. Sitting on the toilet helped ease this pain somewhat. Sometimes after these painful climaxes the pain would subside to no pain at all.

Ever since I started using the Aneros a few year ago I have rarely had these episodes occur. I feel this device has helped my anus/rectum/prostate area in this way. Now that I own both Peridise sets which are also used as hemmroid massagers at www.highisland.com I am confident this will help my anal/rectal/prostate health even more.
  • You are the first individual I have ever heard of that has this problem.
I have experienced it on and off over the years, when my PSA was announced as being extremely high, my first thought was cancer.
    After undergoing all sorts of tests and discovering no prostrate or colorectal cancer, I still occasionally have this, but I have a theory for you to think about;
I think it relates to having an extremely stressful day or event in your life.
That would dovetail with the use of prostate massage, which relieves (I guess) the tension.
It's the only thing remaining it could be!
Well, that's my 2 cents, I have ordered a matrix, and will get to test this theory over time.
1 interesting question: if it should occur (always in the middle of the night) would using the Aneros immediately cause it to stop?
  • Things that may also cause it may be constipation, hardened stool, trapped stool, or trapped gas. Enemas can sometimes relieve it. The Crystal Wand is a good relief or prevention of such symptons too. I sometimes use the Crystal Wand before the insertion of the Aneros. I have stress, depression, and anxiety so that may be some of the factors that have caused the pain.

This has happened to me on and off for several years and always at night in bed. The Dr. told me to use a "fleet enama" bottle and fill it with real warm water and inject it in the bum and hold it as long as possible and then expel it in the tolet. Then fill it with cold water and do the same thing. this always works for me and the pain goes right away.

Hey Equalityboy...a newbie here and my first post.

I can't believe I just read this. I quoted you below. You just described exactly what I have experienced off and on. Sometimes I would think I was dreaming and it would start really easy...slowly waking me up and build into this pain where I could not move and like you say, all I could do was just breath deep and it would soon subside...the stress, hard stool has been a factor. When under heavy stress, it affects my digestion and transit time and things don't move as well. Right about now there is too much going on, but I have not had any issues. I am single right now, but have taken matters in hand...wanting to keep the prostate in working order.

I have been reading this forum for a while now and some of these testimonials are amazing...but truthfully the fear was holding me back from even considering trying any of these products and keeping me from going to the doctor about it. I get a PSA each spring, and other tests done and everything has been normal. Lately I have not had any episodes.

I am not one to insert things into my butt as a rule, though I have had some experiences in the past in a committed relationship that were awesome. I experimented with plugs once, but it did not work for me...two reasons...it just felt and seemed too weird doing that...something about anything that looks too much like an organ and is not attached to a body.

I was reading about the area outside of the anus, between the scrotum and the anus...one day in the shower I think I found this spot and massaged it from the outside. I don't know what I was expecting, but after about 10 minuites or so, I began to feel relaxed and __________hmm, I really don't know what to call it. It was very good and I carried this with me for the next 2 hours or so.

Have you had any more issues with this pain? What did you doctor say? Anyone else experience this before? I am not sure which one to start with. I would imagine that any fear issues are going to get in the way of the full experience with the Aneros. I would really appreciate a response on this...finally somebody I can talk to about that. Thanks for posting!

  • Let's keep in touch about this subject. I don't remember exactly what the doctor said but they said my anus and prostate are perfectly normal. My mother said she had similar things happen to her and woke her up out of her sleep. The things that happened to you are almost identical to what happened to me. I don't have the pain near as often as I used to before I started using the Aneros. I would say every 4 months it happens. Used to it would be once or twice within 3 months of each other.
  • Proctalgia fugax:

I feel I may have this condition but the Aneros prostate massagers and Peridise have minimized the frequency of the symptoms. I think Aneros products soothe, minimize and possibly cure this condition.

  • Proctalgia fugax is a variant of Levator Ani Syndrome.
