I've tried using the Aneros a lot. I have the normal, the small, and the Helix. When it is in me, I don't get an erection. The tab does not stay in one spot, but it moves from left to right and is loose. The aneros will go in my rectum if I relax. Is it supposed to?
I feel like there's something I'm not doing right. I checked all the blogs and wiki and I don't know.

Are you aroused? I personally believe arousal is the key to a successful aneros session. I suggest to checkout rumel thread on Identifying Facilitators to Progress & Arousal.

Rrm - The tab does not stay in one spot, but it moves from left to right and is loose.

I suggest not to worry about the tap and focus on the sensations within.

Rrm - When it is in me, I don't get an erection.

There are guys who have had super-O's without an erection. I personally have had the greatest orgasms when soft.

Yes this is correct. Relaxation will aid you and bring great benefit in the beginning.

I suggest to first warm up by using your fingers or a smaller toy to open up the backdoor. And, always remember there is no such thing as too much lube.

How long have you been using your devices? The "art" of anerosing can take months or years to learn; it's not a quick process for 95% of men and can take quite a bit of patience.

          Update:
I watch porn and play with my nipples and feel very aroused, but...nothing. Last night, I gave up and just decided to jack off with it in me after trying for two hours. When I did this, the aneros felt so much better and I felt it move to a new spot, maybe my prostate. I guess I'm really confused.

Also, I hear deep breathing is a big key. Can someone elaborate? Maybe I'm not doing that right too.

50 times in a year? in a month? in a week? in a day? Using too frequently may be just as unsuccessful as using too infrequently. You may wish to see how your use compares with others (please see How frequently do you use your massager?).

By "normal" & "small", I presume you are speaking of the Peridise massagers. These are not designed as prostate massagers and their stimulation of the prostate is incidental at best. They are intended as anal sphincter massagers but are also good training tools to tone and strengthen your anal musculature which also helps with the Aneros prostate massagers.

This is quite normal and nothing to be concerned about. Your penile erectile state will not interfere with your ability to experience prostate based orgasms, focusing attention on your penile response may in fact impede your progress to prostate based orgasms, (please read the thread Penis, NOT and the user poll What is your frequency of erection during use?).

Making sure your perineum is dry and free of lube may help here but this situation has been reported by other Helix users as well. You might want to consider purchasing a MGX or Maximus model as their design is more likely to force positive perineum contact.

I'm not understanding exactly what you're saying here but alternating relaxation and contractions will cause your Aneros to move in the rectum thus massaging your prostate, this IS its intended function.

Rather than think in terms of 'right' or 'wrong', think more in terms of effective or non-effective. Try different techniques until you find combinations which lead to pleasurable feelings. Your personal pleasure is your guide here, your unique physiology/psychology means you need to find the unique path to your own pleasure. There is no one particular formula for orgasmic success and other people's techniques may or may not prove effective. Even your own effective techniques are likely to change and evolve over time.

That's good you have done some reading but as I just noted, you are a unique individual so your path to orgasmic success is going to be somewhat unique as well. Despite the many commonalities of the Aneros experience there are diverse subtle differences in the manner it manifests in each individual. You have undertaken a journey of awakening some deep self knowledge that goes beyond the ability of words to explain in the blogs or the WIKI.

There is some debate about watching porn during an Anerosession, some members believe it helps, while others believe it is somewhat distracting (see Are you aroused by Porn?). Being aroused (see Are you "aroused"?) is an essential mind/body state for orgasmic success. However, if your arousal is dependent upon it during an Anerosession then it is taking mental focus away from the subtle sensations being produced by your Aneros device. Nipple play and other erogenous 'hot spots' stimulation help keep the mental focus on the internal sensations thus amplifying your massagers effect.
So you've discovered the pleasure of the Super-T but beware if you make this a regular practice it may preclude you from obtaining a Super-O in the future as you will have programmed/rewired your body for that experience. I would advise you to avoid Super-T's until you have developed a consistent ability to have Super-O's instead.

Breathing patterns do have bodily effects, breathing exercises have been a part of many health related exercise regimes for millennia. 'Valley breathing'/'deep breathing'/'belly breathing' are various names for a diaphragmatic breathing technique which aides in relaxation and adds impetus to subtle pelvic floor muscle movement essential to Aneros massager movement. It is a simple technique to learn and there are numerous articles on the internet from which to learn, I encourage you to check a few of them out and practice.
              Good Vibes to You !

Hey RM, welcome to a new world!
I was exactly where you are many years ago and tossed my aneros toys out. I've come back since the lat 2 years and wow - what a great Journey it is!
First and foremost, NEVER rush into this - take your time with tons of lube and ensure you have very private time. Once I did this, the p-waves came quickly and solidifed there is truth to this story.
Secondly - read the forum's sticky post "B's Keys to the Backdoor" - and read it again and again. As you start your own Journey, you will begin to understand more and more and re-reading will help make sense of everything.

                Enjoy the Journey!
