Rumels Ruminations

  • Rumel's Ruminations - Part II

This Blog is in multiple Sections : Part II (this one) is my periodic blog of experiences (most recent at the top), Part I is just copies of some of my earliest Forum entries (oldest at the bottom)

3/21/10 - There have been a couple of inquiries/comments in the past about my personal avatar, so I thought I'd put into writing what it is.
While the Aneros WIKI states "Super-O's come in all shapes and sizes. Some are small, some are large, some are single, some are multiple, some are centered in one area while others are in another. Some are particularly intense, while others are more subdued." I liked a post by 'BF Mayfield' wherein he said "Super-O's come in many colors and flavors."

When I first joined the Forum, avatars were not an available option for members. It was many months after I had experienced my first Super-O that avatars became available. I believe it was 'hlaser99' who posted the first animated avatar shortly after they were possible here. I then started thinking about what mine should be. For a short time I was using an animated graphic of the Super O Society logo which I created as my avatar but I decided against that as I wanted that particular graphic to represent much more than my identity.

I wanted an avatar that would symbolize the Super-O experience. I tried searching the web for appropriate images and/or animations but never found one I really liked, so I decided to create my own. Obviously one can not graphically depict flavors but an energetic color animation was certainly possible. The image I created is the symbolic representation of a prostate in the throes of continuous orgasm, constantly experiencing a change in color (and by implication flavor), radiating its energy and power outward first to the body and thence to the world. Each pulse begins as a small "O" at the core and grows in strength as it radiates outward. Once it reaches the boundary it sends out small neural dendrons in an effort to make a wider, fuller connection to the world and the universal energy forces which surround all living things. I hope you all enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

3/4/10 - I thought I should post the text I try to get to all new Forum members because I know that I have missed quite a few of them, at least this way if they should perchance read this Blog they may get a small tip to aid their journey a bit. So I have posted my "Introductory Personal Message to new Forum Members" into this Blog for that purpose.

12/15/08 - Proof positive that the re-wiring is an ongoing process occurred for me this day as I experienced my first Anerosless chair orgasm. While working on some projects, I took a short break to go over to the erospirit.com site suggested by 'darwin' and peruse the material there (good site, BTW). Anyway, I found myself getting aroused by the material and experiencing some pleasant perineum pulsations. I closed my eyes and started focusing on the sensations and began adding some slight voluntary contractions, this lead into a series of involuntary contractions and a dry-O, all without an Aneros present. Needless to say, it certainly made the rest of the day pass more pleasantly.

9/22/08 - Well it has been quite a while since I last posted. Here it is the Autumnal Equinox; I can definitely say that the radiation treatment has left my prostate less sensitive to stimulation. I have not been able to return to the Super-O level of excitement. I am, however, still able to experience multiple orgasms and frequent mini-O's, for those I'm thankful. I am gratified by the reception HypnAerosession has received from the community, I truly believe this product will help many newbies establish a good basis for their journey, well into the future. I am starting to write the induction script for the 'Babylonbrook' recording to be produced next. I have recently also begun practice of the KSMO protocol, which is totally about the mental aspects affecting arousal and orgasm, I imagine this will be even more challenging than learning about Aneros use. Both paths do share the need to relax and "Just Let Go !" of control to be effective. The KSMO approach seems much more meditative though.

5/2/08 - Yesterday, May 1, 2008, marked the anniversary of my joining the Forum membership and it has certainly been an interesting year. Being diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer, posting, reading and learning from the Forum membership, discovering new aspects about my own capabilities, personality and psyche, experiencing a Super-O, working with Brian and Darwin developing the Aneros WIKI, working with them again along with Hlaser99 and Pan on the guided self-hypnosis/fantasy project; all of these were completely unforeseen events in my life that have enriched me in innumerable ways. I feel I have made some significant new friendships here and would just like to take a moment to thank you all for your help, concern and encouragement through the past year. If this is any indication of the coming year, then I am very excited to see what happens next. I have definitely felt an increase in creative thoughts over the past year and hope this trend continues and that I can perhaps help other men in their individual journeys as well. While I still have not gotten back to Super-O status, my Aneros sessions continue to be pleasurable nonetheless.
I think the radiation treatments have definitely damaged my nerves around my prostate as everything is less sensitive down there now, I am contemplating beginning the K.S.M.O. protocol to see if that can jump start me into a new level of sensations.

3/13/08 - It's been over a month now since I finished my radiation treatments and I can say I am feeling much better. My energy level is rising back up and I have resumed my relationship with Mistress Aneros. I am thankful to report that I am still getting good feelings from my prostate, though not as intense as before the treatments. I’m sure some nerve damage has occurred but to what extent and whether the body will repair it is unknown, I am optimistically hopeful about a full return to Super-O condition! The past few months have been busily filled with helping Darwin and Brian Mayfield assemble the new WIKI, I feel honored to have contributed a small bit (mainly just gathering the information Brian and Darwin had already written and then copying it into the WIKI, most of the credit should go to them). It has been a real learning experience not only about the WIKI but also some finer points regarding Aneros usage. I am now involved with another Aneros related project , a guided hypnosis session that can be marketed to the Aneros membership. Once it's ready I'll post more details here.

2/2/08 - Well, I have finished my prostate cancer radiation treatments, (37) table top doses in all. My doctor told me because of the cumulative effects of these treatments, my actual healing / recovery won't begin until approximately two weeks after the last treatment. Now begins the wait and see period. In (3) months I am scheduled for a follow up consultation to verify health and well being conditions and to take a new baseline PSA reading. Thereafter, I am to begin getting PSA tests at (4) month intervals to monitor progress. I was told it can take from 1.5 to 2 years for the PSA number to drop to a nadir and after that, it is likely to slowly rise again as is normal for aging men. After (2) years, the PSA testing can drop to once yearly, assuming no complications arise. Hopefully that will be the case for me and I can look forward to a long and productive future.
I still continue with the same side effects previously mentioned but they have not become more severe, for which I am most thankful.
All in all, though the repeated daily trips to the clinic plus the upset to the holidays was bothersome, the whole treatment experience has been less traumatic than I anticipated. Of course there is still a lingering fear in the back of my mind that this may not have been effective, but I am reassured that the odds are definitely in my favor for successful eradication.

1/22/08 - Since my treatments are scheduled to end next week, I have decided to reward myself on Valentines day with the gift of a new Eupho to re-start my Aneros training that I have had to forego during the radiation zapping. I am definitely looking forward to being re-aquainted with that seductive wench - Mistress Aneros!

1/17/08 - Here's the latest on my treatments. The treatments are continuing to go fairly well, I am at the 3/4 point now (29 treatments done, 8 or 9 to go). I am still experiencing continuing fatigue and a need for cat naps and I continue to experience urinary urgency and frequency, but it has lessened in intensity this week.
I spoke again with my doctor today about long term prognosis and options if this radiation wasn't successful. He said that my probability for remaining cancer free for the next 5-10 years was very good. He said that they would begin monitoring my PSA 3-4 months after treatment ends and probably at 4 month intervals thereafter. He said that the PSA numbers should gradually decline to a nadir point after about 1 ½ years following treatment.
In the event this treatment is not successful the next regime would likely be a radical prostatectomy or hormone therapy (which is not considered a long term effective treatment).

    To Whom It May Interest,

Over the last few years I've posted numerous comments in other peoples threads and authored a few threads of my own. In hopes it would aid in the understanding of the Aneros Journey I've decided to consolidate some of the more salient posts of my thoughts here.

From Aneros and an 'Optimal' mind state?
    Hi guys,
I was recently asked by a member "...about how to get into the right state of mind to encourage a prostate orgasm to happen..." That's a good question which deserves some thoughtful responses from our members. First off, let's dispense with the word "right" and it's implied antonym "wrong", the semantics of which imply too much moral judgment attached to their use. I prefer to use the term "optimal" in lieu of "right". Second, we need to identify what constitutes this "optimal" state of mind. I think I have a pretty good idea about this but it is just my opinion. Third, we need to identify those practices which will help us get into that "optimal" state of mind. Some of this was alluded to in the thread Identifying Facilitators to Progress so this post could be considered an addendum to that thread. This also ties into rook's thread Whole Body/Whole Mind - the mental side & SteelColdiron's thread Aneros: The Essential Mind State

What is that "optimal" mind state? From my reading literally thousands of posts on this Forum the type of mental state members were in when they experienced prostate based orgasms would best be described as 'Hypnagogic'. This is an altered state of consciousness where you're not asleep but your not awake either. It is a dreamlike state, tethered between consciousness and the subconscious. What may not be considered in that transition state is that your body is also transitioning into sleep mode with all the accompanying activities that are involved. Body Temperature, breathing, Heart rate, Blood pressure, Blood flow, Brain activity (see What Happens in the Brain During Sleep?) and other changes. (please see What Happens to Your Body When You Sleep?). Members have frequently lamented their passage into sleep while enjoying an Anerosession.

Disclaimer : I need to note here the "optimal" mind state for any particular individual need not be as described above and this is not the only mental state one can be in to experience prostate orgasms. The above described mental state may only be indicative of a large group of successful Aneros users.

So now we have one possible piece of the orgasmic puzzle, an "optimal" mind state but how do we induce that? What practices will facilitate our initiation of this mental state? IMHO, the most effective method of getting into that state is through the use of self hypnosis. This is supported by the numerous member posts describing their use of various scripted, hypnotic audios commercially available and/or free over the internet. There are other practices which also can produce this dreamlike optimal state. Music has often been cited as a facilitator and other audio experiences have been cited as well. Please see the threads Muse Music - Aneros Aural Accompaniment, The Aneros Audio Experiment & The Erotic Audio Challenge to see some of these references. Another increasingly noted practice is the intoxicating effect of cannabis use. Meditation and Mindfulness practices can also induce similar relaxed states but may be a little more incongruous with simultaneous Aneros use.

Frequently discussed on the Forum is the importance of being completely relaxed, this includes both physically and psychologically. Almost any activity (too numerous to list here) which seeks to relax all the body muscles will also facilitate the induction of an optimal mental state. There is a synergy between the mind and the body in this relaxation process, the mind sets the intent and the body accepts the suggestion, as the body changes, it releases various hormones and neurotransmitters which in turn influences the brain to moderate its processes which then affect your momentary emotional state which then affects your intent, a feedback loop is created. So the relaxation process also aids the transitioning from one conscious state into another, in this case one which is optimal for an Anerosession.

The practice of Hatha Yoga has also demonstrated a capacity to induce these optimal mental states. In particular, the focus on learning various breathing patterns is thought to affect one's mental functioning and thus one's mental state as well. I think it is interesting to note that Hatha Yoga practices emerged from the tantric sexual rituals/practices which proceeded it, perhaps yoga was seen as a way to formalize steps necessary to reach orgasm and enlightened states of mind as well.

I am sure our membership has additional thoughts about what may constitute an 'optimal' mental state and the methods/practices which can be adopted to achieve that state. I'd like to hear your ideas and opinions.

from Do Nothing" What does that mean?

    Hi Guys,
Frequently mentioned on this forum is the "Do Nothing" method but what does this really mean? It doesn't mean stick an Aneros up your butt and stop thinking about it as you go about your daily activities, nor does it mean you should ignore its presence as if you were anesthetized. It is really about taking a very passive approach to your Anerosessions. It is one of the techniques found in the Relaxation group versus Sexual frenzy group.

From the Aneros WIKI The "do nothing" technique is mostly for the Aneros only. The idea is to dispense with thinking about holding contractions, controlling your breathing, conscious relaxing, or anything else for that matter, in favor of just lying there and letting the pleasure and Aneros do their thing. This technique is probably best after you have at least started feeling pleasure from the Aneros.

I'd like to expand upon that description a bit. Most descriptions of techniques one may employ during their Anerosessions are of the Sexual frenzy group and involve rhythmic (or mixed rhythmic/static) contractions of different pelvic floor muscles combined with breathing techniques and stimulation of "erogenous hot spots". These are what constitute very active approaches.

The "Do Nothing" approach basically means one dispenses with emphasis on these consciously induced activities but it does not mean you dispense with mental activity you would also employ with the active techniques. i.e. You still employ fantasy thoughts and erotic imagery to build your arousal, you still concentrate on the pleasurable feelings being generated, you still use deep breathing to maintain a relaxed, enervated level [though your focus is not on your breathing technique] The "Do Nothing" method doesn't mean you are to remain inert either, an occasional very gentle contraction may be employed to jump start a series of involuntary contractions or to instigate a slight pleasure wave. The primary focus is on the pleasure being generated by your body as you lie back and act as the observer of your body's action without being forceful in instigating action.

The "Do Nothing" method also includes all the same preparations you would make for an active Anerosession like a conducive environment, rectal clean-out (if necessary), proper lubing, etc. IMHO, the term "do nothing" is somewhat a misnomer, perhaps it should be "do little" because you are definitely doing "something", more than "nothing".

    from "Just Let Go !"

    Hi Guys,
As many of you newbies may have read from my introductory PM, one bit of advice I offer is to "Give yourself permission to release egocentric mental control. " Just Let Go ! " to allow your body to generate this phenomena for your pleasure and enjoyment, just Go with the Flow ! ". What does " Just Let Go ! " really mean? How is this different from just relaxing?

In the thread Identifying Obstacles to Progress, one of the listed conditions was 'Mind Noise'. Some of the other listed conditions ('Expectations', 'Fears', 'Attitude & Beliefs', 'Erroneous Knowledge' and 'Obsessive Thinking') are all contributors to the 'Mind Noise' problem. For myself and others, minimizing this mind noise is the biggest hurdle to entering the Super-O zone.

Years ago, veteran member 'darwin' authored a wonderfully succinct post titled relax, relax, RELAX which primarily addressed the physical relaxation needed to get into the Super-O zone. Getting into a relaxed physical state, sufficient to allow the orgasm to come to you, is an important learned skill. This is likely contrary to the muscular tension/control techniques (western culture) men have become accustomed to in their masturbatory practices. Part of the "rewiring" is learning to let go of the old techniques and learning new ones, like physical relaxation during orgasm.

Moving into the psychological aspects of Aneros use may create new paradoxes for many men as they struggle to accommodate the necessary paradigm shift in thinking, Member 'Cockadoodle' gave us the thread Penis, NOT which made clear our need to let go of focus on our penis as the center of our orgasmic world. Member 'rook' later gave us his wonderful insight into this psychologically influenced practice with the thread Whole Body/Whole Mind - the mental side which brought to focus our need to let go of the self inflicted mind f**king we endure.

Finally, one needs to let go of the traditional notion of controlling the action and results as dictated by your ego consciousness. The immense interest in the Pegging thread attests to our members openness to alternative pleasure paths. This is another paradigm shift in thinking for most men, from assertive/aggressive/penetrative control to a passive/submissive/receptive surrender of control to your own subconscious. This is not about relinquishing control of your life to another human being nor is it a power exchange or any form of Dominance/submission scene, it is about suspending egocentric judgment so the powerful richness of your primitive self can be expressed through your body's pleasure.

So for your next Anerosession, why don't you give your ego a few hours off duty, tell your mind to take a break from its machinations and let your creative subconscious come out to play," Just Let Go ! "

    from Aneros, Arousal & Abstinence

    Hi Guys,
First let me preface this post with the statement that most published discussions on the web treat male "orgasm" and ejaculation as the same thing. Unfortunately this is an erroneous interpretation but needs to be kept in mind when reading material away from this Forum. Some recent threads and my ongoing search for understanding prompted me to start this discussion.

A key facet of the Super-Ozone gem is maintaining high mental arousal levels (erectile state is immaterial, see the thread Are you "aroused"?. One frequently cited method of raising arousal levels is viewing pornography, however, there may be some drawbacks to this approach. Another (less frequently cited) method is temporal abstinence/semen retention.

The pornography topic has frequently been discussed here and its direct effect on Anerosessions was broached in a Community Poll question [hopefully to be restored by Aneros Support soon]. As I recall, there seemed to be a majority belief such viewing during an Anerosession was counterproductive to achieving a Super-O. This was primarily due to the distractive nature of active viewing taking mental focus away from the internal sensations being generated. There may be an even more insidious aspect to use of pornography, namely addiction and desensitization.

Some recent research has revealed a physiological basis for porn addiction which is equally applicable to potential Aneros addiction. Some psychological studies have pointed to the rise of internet porn addiction as a contributory factor in incidences of ED, decreasing libido, relationship problems, etc. Whether you have a porn addiction or not, the process of desensitization is nonetheless occurring with repeated viewing. Likewise, too frequent use of your Aneros massagers could lead to desensitization as well.

The lesson to be learned here is that moderating/limiting your porn viewing may actually help your Anerosessions. Another one of those Aneros use paradoxes.

So what of the temporal abstinence path to arousal? Ejaculatory control has been a part of Taoist philosophy and Tantric practice for hundreds of years. While the practice is primarily aimed at heightening spiritual energy, there is a physiological basis to support this as an arousal elevator as well. In western culture, practitioners of male chastity have been using this phenomenon as a basis for maintaining high arousal for quite sometime. Please read Kelmag's blog entry Male Chastity - Pleasure and Devotion, the Science Behind It for a well researched blog entry on this phenomena.

The key aspect of maximizing pleasure and arousal is to recognize your own cycle of neurotransmitter responses. The dopamine, oxytocin and prolactin components are intertwined and an ejaculation is a bodily "reset button" taking the body back to a sub normal state of being. There is a necessary recovery time extending beyond the penile refractory period for the neurotransmitters to return to a homeostatic condition. This time period seems to average around 7-10 days for the average healthy male. So what does this mean for Aneros users?

Reducing the frequency of your ejaculations will heighten your arousal levels and heighten your pleasure levels as well. If you avoid ejaculations entirely, after a certain period of time you will be in a continual high arousal state, primed and ready for Aneros use. You may enjoy as many Super-O's as you can handle and they will likely be more frequent and intense as well.

However, there are some drawbacks to this :
1.) You are going to be 'hornier than hell' once you reach your homeostatic 'normal'.
2.) The 'blue balls' syndrome is likely to kick in and the temptation to obtain ejaculatory relief may be impossible to resist.
3.) The hormonal/neurotransmitter induced mood change after an ejaculation is magnified.
4.) The prospect of building back up to the previous high level may seem too frustrating to pursue.

For some of us older Aneros users, with the biological imperative minimized and naturally diminished testosterone levels, temporal abstinence is a very viable path. However, for the younger members, this may prove problematic.

from User Theorems - The Tao of Aneros
    -
    Hi Guys,

Theorem : An idea accepted or proposed as a demonstrable truth often as a part of a general theory.

I'm thinking we can come up with some theorems for Aneros use. So put on your philosophers cloak and add to those presented here. I've taken the liberty of simplifying/condensing/emending some proposed User Theorems from a previous thread, I wasn't as clear as I should have been in explaining this. Hopefully, we can establish some basic theorems to guide new users into their Super-O Nirvana. These theorems need to be simple statements of basic, generally accepted truths to be of universal applicability. If you look at the Aneros WIKI "Milestones" you will notice all the listed events probably occurred as a result of accepting one or more these practice theorems.

    from Are you "aroused"?

    Guys,
'macjim' stated in a recent post "B Mayfield says to start the aneros aroused, which I take to mean an erection, for us beginners. I have a slightly different understanding of that term "aroused" but I am curious how the membership interprets this word.

The WIKI does address the "Arousal" factor and makes note of "...do not involve direct penile stimulation:" but it doesn't mention ones erectile state in association with this. I am aware that I need to be highly aroused in order to enter the Super-O zone but I also know that my erectile condition (usually flaccid) for experiencing pleasure and a Super-O is not related to this. There have been questions regarding this in the past as members have expressed disappointment or dismay that they lost (or never got) erections during their sessions and it has bothered me they were equating their penile state to their ability to have a Super-O which simply is not valid.

The Penis, NOT thread by 'Cockadoodle' does well in explaining the relevance of penile stimulation in the process but does not address ones fluctuating erectile states during an Anerosession.

A couple of online dictionaries yield the following definitions:
    arouse -
1.) To awaken from or as if from sleep.
    2.) To stir up; excite:
3.) To stimulate sexual desire in.
    aroused -
    1.) To awaken from
2.) To rouse or stimulate to action or to physiological readiness for activity
    These are not very helpful.

Wikipedia has a page on Sexual arousal which is a generalized discussion and in this forum we are dealing with a more specific aspect of behavior (males & prostate massage).

On this Forum, I have been using the terms 'arousal' and 'aroused' in the global sense as per the Wikipedia discourse, applying to the body as a whole and not specifically to ones penile state. IMO, it is both a physical and a psychological state of being. Signs of physical arousal may include elevated heart rate & blood pressure, increased rate of breathing, perspiration, hot flashes, cold chills and (yes) erections. Psychological signs of arousal may include Desire, lust, longing for physical contact, fantasies etc. These are all signs of arousal but one may be aroused without simultaneously exhibiting all of these signs.

My questions to the membership are :
Should we include a specific 'aroused' definition in the Aneros WIKI Glossary or in the WIKI somewhere? And if so - Should there be a specific notation of the irrelevance of ones penile state to the Super-O experience?

    from What's an Orgasm?

    Guys,
In a recent thread member 'Korkelz' said "...I was asking if I could consider my experience a dry orgasm. The problem is that I can't find a definition of the "orgasm" part of "dry orgasm." 'Korkelz' has indirectly raised the issue of semantic differences in the terms we use on this Forum and I'm fairly certain this has lead to some confusion and misunderstandings of the information we are attempting to communicate here. I have been pondering this for a short while, did some web searches for definitions of an orgasm. Here's one that I thought was pretty OK, but limited - "orgasm : The peak of sexual excitement, characterized by strong feelings of pleasure and by a series of involuntary contractions of the muscles of the genitals, usually accompanied by the ejaculation of semen by the male." I think the Wikipedia definitions for orgasm are probably better yet but this is a term which may not have universal agreement. The Aneros WIKI does touch upon the expanding nature of the term orgasm but doesn't provide any specifics. We've had numerous discussions here about what constitutes a Super-O but not much about what constitutes an ordinary Orgasm.

When I use the term orgasm, I am using it as an expanded term, to encompass a wider range of phenomena, inclusive of but beyond the association to sexual activity. This includes the euphoric rapture experienced by people from religious practices (i.e. Whirling Dervish, Shakers, etc.), convulsive, hysterical laughter, or other pleasurable involuntary body tremors brought about by various stimuli. To me, these are all forms of orgasm and all are characterized by some form of pleasurable, involuntary (non-consciously directed) muscle spasms/contractions. I would not characterize epileptic seizures as orgasmic events and there are some events which may or may not be considered orgasmic depending upon the association to pleasure (i.e. electro-ejaculation).

Just as we say there are various intensities of Super-O's, so too are there various intensities to ordinary orgasms, from almost undetectable to howling great. I think each of us establishes a personal criteria for where our particular experience falls along the orgasmic spectrum and one man's mini-orgasm may only be a pleasant sensation to another. YOU get to decide the scale you wish to use, my scale won't likely coincide with your scale but that is perfectly OK. I hope we don't get too hung up on trying to establish a definitive boundary for such a wide ranging experience as an orgasm, this is an experience which is really beyond the ability of words to convey meaning.

So let's hear from the membership and give 'Korkelz' some additional feedback for him to establish his personal scale of mini-O to Super-O.

    from Identifying Obstacles to Progress

    To Newbies, Grinders and Skeptics,
An often heard refrain on this forum is "I feel nothing..." or similar statements lamenting a lack of success with an Aneros massager. Upon some reflection, it occurs to me there are many more reasons for lack of success than there are for actual success. For those who have crossed over into the Super-O zone, congratulations for navigating your way around, under, over or through the myriad of obstacles in your path. For those of you who haven't yet crossed over, but don't quite know why, here is a list of some of the obstacles identified by your fellow travelers in this personal journey. This list is by no means exhaustive or in any particular order, nor does it imply everyone will encounter these obstacles, it is meant to help you identify possible detours along your path. Once you have identified your particular blockage, you are in a much better position to take positive action to surmount the issues facing you. Many of these issues are interrelated and can have multiple solutions, discussions about them are punctuated throughout these Forum threads, You are encouraged to read the Aneros WIKI and utilize the search function to read about how some of your fellow members have dealt with these issues.

    1. Relaxation - A relaxed mind/body state facilitates your allowance of the Super-O experience. Member 'darwin's post relax, relax, RELAX is a nice introduction and he touches upon some of the following issues as well.

2.> Expectations - Expecting to experience an instant Super-O is a common misconception. Expectations of any particular type are likely to lead to frustration and anxiety, thwarting your rewiring progress.

3.> Fears - A common latent fear is related to homophobia, there is a nicely written post by 'Trojan' which addresses this topic. A common fear is the ego's sense of loss of body control, this is sometimes referred to as "Terror at the Gates", when this occurs one's ego applies the brakes to the unfolding orgasm and shuts the whole process down. Some other common fears revolve around hygiene issues, guilt feelings for indulging in this activity, fear of discovery by another person, fear of being negatively judged for one's behavior, fear of doing harm to one's body, etc. Overcoming one's fears is a necessary step to successful orgasmic pleasures.

4.> Mind Noise - Over-analyzing and distractive thoughts (see 'darwin's post My theory of orgasm success), can impede progress. Our own body sensations can be distracting as well, sudden, unexpected twitches or spasms can break our reverie or instigate a series of internal dialogues leading away from our orgasmic buildup. The common internal dialogue we carry on often interferes with our perception of the sensate information that our body is constantly sending to our brains. Relaxing the mind is as important as relaxing the body in order to fully appreciate the subtle sensations being transmitted by our bodies. Our minds can also become too focused on the mechanics of applying a preconceived set of techniques. In addition there are numerous paradoxes involved in the rewiring process, e.g. the concept of being relaxed yet attentive. There may also be times when things present themselves in a manner that is counter intuitive. For instance, the idea that applying more stimulation can produce less sensation in return. It is necessary to accept such paradoxes at face value, to in effect marginalize ones critical mind in favor of a more open, vulnerable and intimate state of being. For some this will be the most significant obstacle that they face.

5.> Impatience - In an age of on-demand availability of goods and services we have become a culture accustomed to instant gratification of our desires. Unfortunately our bodies have not evolved to respond in an equally accelerated manner. Aneros use requires time, time enough to learn about your own body's inner workings and language and time enough in each Anerosession to fully enjoy the sensual experience possible. This time period is not fixed by the clock on the wall but by one's own internal clock. You can not coerce you body to learn faster or respond more rapidly by increased stimulation, trying to do so is generally futile. Being patient with the process, however slow it may be for each individual, is essential. Aneros use is not a race or competition to win or goal to be achieved, it is a journey from one state of being through to another state of being and it is always evolving.

6.> Arousal - An important key to experiencing enjoyable Anerosessions is being both mentally and physically aroused (see Arousal). This does not mean you need to be sporting a rock hard erection or an erection at all actually. It means you bring to your session an erotic desire full of lusty energy, this is the ideal state of being for Aneros usage. The Aneros is less an arousal generator than an effective arousal amplifier for focusing your sensual energy toward orgasm. So don't expect your Aneros to get you excited, while this may occur, more commonly it functions by optimizing one's existing level of arousal. Paradoxically, hyperactivity or being too excited can also interfere with one's session.

7.> Attitude & Beliefs - A positive attitude of hopeful adventure and lighthearted playfulness will go a long way toward ameliorating the inevitable 'dud' sessions, reducing anxiety, frustration and accompanying depression. Progress and learning are sometimes slow and not always obvious or linear, having faith in yourself and persistence in experimenting will return rewards over time. Allowing your mind to become fixated on aspects of unmet expectations will only impede your progress. Personal belief systems can also impose impediments to progress. Religious dogmas, cultural conventions and social taboos all have an influence on one's ability to openly and freely accept the concept of male anal/prostate pleasuring, These underlying belief systems may have a profound effect on one's ability to achieve pleasure at any level of sensual play.

8.> Health Issues- Optimally, being in robust physical and mental health is ideal but most of us suffer from various minor to major health related issues. Some health related issues can negatively impact your ability to respond to Aneros stimulation. Recreational drug use such as alcohol or the opiate based nervous system depressants can dull your responses and block progress. Certain prescription medicines, such as anti-depressants, can also negatively impact sensual response. One's own body chemistry may be out of balance or nutritionally deficient. Certain past body traumas may have temporarily or permanently damaged any of the various networks of nerves necessary for transmitting/receiving nerve impulses to and from the brain.

9.> Erroneous Knowledge - Not knowing or understanding your body and how it works can waste time, energy and even possibly cause bodily harm. It is important to have a basic understanding of your reproductive anatomy, the what, where and how your organs function in the pelvic area. Your internal organs and their relationships are much more delicate and subject to trauma than skin, muscles and bones. Getting the facts about your own body in lieu of 'locker room myths' may save you from self inflicted pain or damage.

10.> Pain - Pain or discomfort are session killers. Your Aneros use should never involve pain. Please do not try to stoically endure pain for the sake of your ego, it just won't work. You can not expect to push through some pain barrier into a blissful orgasmic state. If you are experiencing any pain you need to cease Aneros use immediately and resolve the cause of the pain source. There are some physical conditions under which Aneros use could trigger pain such as hemorrhoidal flare ups, prostatitis, G.I. tract or urinary track infections. Get these checked out by a doctor before resuming Aneros use. That being said, there is a difference between pain and the initial discomfort one may experience from the new sensations associated with anal/prostate play, avoiding discomfort is usually just a matter of getting accommodated, using plenty of lubrication and learning to relax the anal sphincter and rectal muscles.

11.> Obsessive Thinking - Obsessive thinking may take many forms. Being fixated on attaining the goal of a Super-O may establish an obstacle in and of itself. 'Chasing the Orgasm' is obsessively thinking that 'trying harder', 'contracting longer or harder', 'add this or that stimulation', etc. will push one into the Super-O zone, but it doesn't. Like 'Mind Noise', obsessive thinking diverts the focus of your attention away from the feelings and sensations that are the basis of your enjoyment and ultimately the Super-O. Thinking that a Super-O is some type of massively intense multi-fold ejaculatory orgasm is simply incorrect, it's a misconception of what a Super-O really is. It is obsessive to believe in this misconception for it distorts your ability to enjoy all the intermediate sensual awakenings one may experience along the journey and may even obscure the actual Super-O event itself when it occurs. This journey requires a paradigm shift in thinking away from one's penis as a focus of pleasure.

12.> Non-Acceptance - Accepting who you are and your own level of experience is essential. The journey toward a Super-O is unique for each of us. We can share our stories, share our tips and techniques, share our wants, dreams, hopes and desires but ultimately the journey is a solitary one through the landscape of your own mind. Avoid charting your progress and the quality of your journey by comparing yourself with other users. Just remember, there will always be users who catch on faster and slower than you do. Trying to make your experience match that of one you have read about or seen a video of is futile and in the long run frustrating and counterproductive. Although there is a great deal of information to be learned by reading of others experiences, one must appreciate their own path in it's own right. It is important in this journey to make note of all the minute details you experience, never discount even the smallest of sensations for these are the marvelous seedlings which will later grow into a magnificent jungle of abundantly rich feelings.

from Aneros Aural Accompaniment - WIKI listings?

    Guys & Gals,

Music is frequently mentioned as an accompaniment to Aneros sessions. Although some users do not use music and/or find it distracting, I think it helps relax you and provides a method to keep you from over thinking the mechanics of technique in regard to the session.

Currently there are only two musical resources listed in the Music section of the Aneros WIKI - 'ECSTACY' is a music CD by Kelly Howell employing brain wave entrainment technology to induce Alpha and Theta brainwave states in the listener. Many Aneros users find this recording an aid to relaxation and obtaining Super-O states. Gamma Meditation Solution is a music CD by Dr. Jeffery Thompson also employing brain wave entrainment technology to induce different brainwave states in the listener.

IMHO, both of these albums are excellent, but I think we can provide some other choices to recommend as well. I've decided to start this thread in hopes of establishing a more definitive list of Aneros Aural Accompaniments that may eventually make their way onto the WIKI. I've done a little digging through some past threads and started a list of additional possibilities. The following is a copy of the Personal Message I try to send to new Forum members (updated March 3, 2019)
    "Hi Guys,:)

Welcome to the Aneros Forums, your best source of information for learning about the multiple benefits and joys of using the Aneros prostate massagers. There is a wealth of information to be obtained on this website. If you are not familiar with the concept of multiple orgasms (dry-O's), I encourage you to view these two videos by Dr. Joy Davidson discussing "Ways for Men to Have Multiple Orgasms" (Part 1 & Part 2). While she doesn't mention the use of Aneros massagers as one of the methods a man may employ, the information presented was accurate and informative for men seeking this level of experience and is completely in line with the techniques we discuss on this Forum everyday.
Additionally, you may find these two videos (Learn to Do a Prostate Massage and Learn all the enjoyable things to do with his Prostate) taken from a DVD video, formerly available on the Aneros website, interesting and informative as well.

Finally, I encourage you to listen to the podcast #9: Prostate Massage & Super Orgasms (Seriously) with Forrest Andrews of Aneros.

Hopefully, you will be able to avail yourself of this knowledge by tapping these resources and won't be shy about posting your thoughts concerning Aneros use or asking questions that haven't been addressed in the Aneros WIKI or the threads listed below.
    prostate imageprostate image
This image accurately depicts the proper insertion location of your Aneros massager. The tip of the Aneros (while inside the rectum) pushes against the prostate gland. The walls of the rectum are very flexible and elastic, they will easily stretch to accommodate the shape of the Aneros. When the anal sphincter muscles are contracted, the Aneros with its P-tab arm is pushed up into the prostate and thus massages it. The P-tab also acts as an anchor/fulcrum/pivot point. When the contraction takes place the Aneros will rotate slightly about the center point of the P-tab thus pushing the tip of the Aneros forward into the prostate for added massage action. With both the Helix & Eupho models it is not necessary (nor really practical) to attempt to insert all the way to the "T" junction.

Upon insertion of your Aneros:)the proper orientation occurs automatically and naturally. The Aneros are already designed with a forward canted shape to be directed at the prostate, the P-tab assures correct orientation and alignment. Pinpoint accuracy of prostate engagement is NOT necessary. It does NOT require much force or pressure to stimulate the prostate sufficiently to generate the P-Wave phenomenon. As you become more experienced with your massager you will find it requires less and less pressure to generate P-waves, to the point you will be able to generate them without the Aneros present at all.

Here's my spiel to newbie and/or first time posters, in hopes that it can 'jump start' your learning process and save you some frustration and disappointments :

A.) If you haven't already done so, I would recommend that you read The Sticky's – These are threads of ongoing relevance containing posts from many users with interesting ideas or experiences relating to Aneros use. Of particular importance to the 'newbie' user are @B Mayfield 's threads ”B's Keys to the Backdoor” & ”B's Best of the BEE-Line”, these threads contain many valuable tips, techniques and insights from an acknowledged expert on Aneros practice. You can access these anchored discussions on the upper portion of the General Discussion Forum Main Page. The Aneros WIKI – The core reference here, a wealth of knowledge and information distilled from diverse sources and extracted from the posts of veteran users and experts such as @B Mayfied, @darwin, @Pan, @artform, @Cockadoodle, @Unfug, @SOwithoutAneros myself and others. Of particular interest to new users are the "Aneros Basics", "Getting Started" & "The Super-O" sections, please take some time to familiarize yourself with these sections as they will answer many questions you have yet to formulate and save you a great deal of time during your learning process. You can access the Aneros WIKI by clicking on the WIKI button shown after mousing over the "LEARN" tab on the Main Menu bar.

B.) The Learning Center. There is an abundance of interesting information to be gleaned from reading all of the topics provided in the Learning Center pages. Please take some time to edify yourself with this information, it will enhance your appreciation and understanding of these marvelous little devices. Every new user is encouraged to first read the FAQ section before posting subsequent questions to the General Discussion Forum, your question may already have been answered in the FAQ section. Instructions – Basic instructions (actually introductory guidelines, definitely NOT RULES) may be found in the Aneros Learning Center pages. The instructions are a suggested list of beginner's guidelines for starting the learning process or "rewiring" as it is frequently referred to here on the Forum. The path/journey toward the Super-O is more than the attaining of a certain state of sensual/sexual/physical arousal. This process involves your "awakening" your prostate, listening to your body, becoming more attuned to the many subtle feelings being generated and then gently nurturing those feelings into heightened physical and emotional states. Each person is unique so the steps along the pathway will differ for each one of us, there is no ONE formula for progress.

C.) The General Discussion Forum - The information from the posts of the users on this Forum will be enlightening, interesting, intimate, humorous, honest, open and occasionally irritating, it may range from the profane to the sacred all in one thread. This is the raw data from which most of our knowledge has evolved. Most new user's questions have been previously discussed on the Forum, taking some time to read through some of those threads will prove helpful as well as opening new avenues of thought and practice options. You are encouraged to make use of this expanding knowledge base as a resource. As you progress along your path, the questions you pose on the Forum may be answered by others who have shared your experience and can offer helpful advice to advance your learning. Especially note the responses by the Forum's 'Experts' (veteran and very knowledgeable users) such as 'B Mayfield', 'darwin', 'Pan', 'artform', 'rook', myself & several others. You may find attending the real time, live "Chat" sessions fun and helpful as well. Chat Sessions allow new users to get real time feedback and discussion of issues surrounding their Aneros practices as well as tips for improving their own personal sessions. You can access the Aneros CHAT by clicking on the CHAT" button shown after mousing over the "LEARN" tab on the Main Menu bar.

D.) The time frame for this process of "rewiring" can vary widely from individual to individual, some users have gotten to a Super-O almost immediately, others have taken more than a year or even two to reach that goal. Nearly a quarter of the men using the Aneros took longer than a year to get there (see the user Poll - ”HOW LONG BEFORE YOUR FIRST SUPER-O?”). In any case your journey is going to be unique for you, what you will be learning about yourself will be valuable and enjoyable, the process is very much worth the effort. You can find additional information about other members Aneros usage in the Community Polls, this is a collection of user generated polls covering a range of Aneros related topics. This is a good place to find out how you relate statistically to many of your fellow users in your practice. Go ahead and add your vote to a Poll and help us establish a good data base, add any comments you feel are appropriate and relevant.

E.) You should be aware as you start upon this journey towards the Super-O, the use of the Aneros can be very addictive once the “rewiring” begins. 'Mistress Aneros' siren call can torture you with pleasure during your journey while consuming large blocks of precious time as you remain under her seductive spell. If you are interested in learning about other members' individual journeys or wish to start documenting your own journey, read the Blogs. The Aneros Blogs are the written accounts of individuals thoughts, techniques and experiences related to their ongoing journey of learning. New users are encouraged to establish a personal Blog so you can record and chart your progress in this journey, not just for yourself but for the benefit of others to follow. Reading about the history of other users may spark ideas to help your own journey or let you know about techniques which proved helpful or counterproductive for others. You can access the Blogs by clicking on the BLOGS button shown after mousing over the "LEARN" tab on the Main Menu bar.

F.) Learn to relax both your mind and your body. The meditative practices of deep breathing, muscle relaxation and clearing/calming the mind will serve you well as you allow your subtle inner sensations to manifest themselves.

G.) The most important tip I can give is to suspend expectations of results, relax and enjoy the ride for the pleasing sensations you do receive. Be patient with yourself, open to the new feelings and nurturing in your attitude, these feelings and sensations can NOT be forced or otherwise coerced to occur. Give yourself permission to release egocentric mental control. "Just Let Go !" to allow your body to generate this phenomena for your pleasure and enjoyment, just "Go with the Flow !".:)

H.)"Tune In" to yourself, prostate massage leading to prostate orgasms is very different from traditional masturbation with your penis. The sensations initially generated by your massager are very subtle and easily overlooked or even dismissed as "nothing happening", this is a huge mistake. It is very important for you to tune into these subtle sensations, acknowledge and welcome them into your Aneros experience. these are the building blocks for all your future pleasures so the sooner you "tune in" the sooner you will get to the Super-O zone.

I.) Before asking for help on the General Discussion Forum, I suggest you check the (FAQ) section of the WIKI for some typical answer help. When asking for help via a posting it will aid your responders if you could provide answers to the questions posed at the beginning of the (FAQ) section. If providing this personal information seems too revealing, you may consider messaging privately with some of your fellow members. Private Messages – Registered users can send and receive Private Messages to each other. You have the option to have multiple members involved with these messages. To send or receive Private Messages click on the Messages button located just to the left of your thumbnail avatar at the top of the page.

Welcome to YOUR journey ! Enjoy the Ride !:)
P.S. You're automatically a member now of the "Super-O Society" for the pursuit of earthly pleasures via the Super-O (don't worry, your name is not put on any "list" and there are no dues or any obligations whatsoever). Finally, here's a little self-serving, crass commercialism, I invite you to sample my "HypnAerosession" guided Anerosession, (also available through the Aneros Web Site), it just might help propel your initiation into this wonderful new journey."

  • Rumel's Ruminations - Part I

This Blog is in multiple Sections : Part II is my periodic blog of experiences (most recent at the top), Part I (this one) is just copies of some of my earliest Forum entries (oldest at the bottom).

12/17/07 : I read in the newspaper today about the death of singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg at the age of 56 due to advanced prostate cancer, boy did that bring a twinge of pain to my heart. He was an artist that I grew up listening to with a gentle thoughtful style I regularly enjoyed. It certainly gives me pause to think how fortunate I am that my own cancer was detected early enough for effective treatment to commence. I now have a very good prospect of becoming a long lived cancer survivor. To any of you guys who may read this blog entry, I strongly urge you to begin getting yearly PSA tests (especially if you are over the age of 50)to monitor for potential prostate cancer. It is a simple blood test, I would never have discovered my own cancer were it not for that finding of an increasing PSA level. Hopefully, upon conclusion of my own treatments, I can get back to enjoying the wonderful Aneros journey I began back in April.

12/14/07 : I finished week 2 of my treatments today, so far so good, I have no side effects to report about other than some afternoon fatigue beginning to occur. I have really appreciated the cheerfulness of the medical staff at the treatment facility, their positive attitudes are an invaluable aid in combating the depressing scenario so many cancer patients are forced to deal with. I almost feel fortunate that my cancer is so small and not life threatening that it can be relatively easily to deal with compared to some others receiving treatment for far more serious conditions. It does give me pause to be thankful for the limited level of involvement of cancer in my own case.

12/07/07 : Well I finished the 4th radiation treatment (of 38 total) today. My doctor tells me that the first two weeks of treatments are usually well tolerated with no side effects. Nothing really to report, other than the actual treatment does not take very long (15 minutes), this big imposing x-ray machine rotates around your body where it stops at six different positions to shoot its beams through you. They have the prostate targeted at the center of rotation so that at each 60 degree rotation the prostate is always getting nuked but other body parts only receive 1/6 of the radiation dosage to minimize collateral damage. Despite this technique it is likely that the bladder and rectum will also suffer more damage just because of their close proximity to the prostate.

11/27/07 : Here's my update to my cancer treatment. I had the consultation with my radiation/oncologist doctor, who reiterated my treatment options, prognosis, side effects, etc. Yesterday, I went in for preparatory screening in the CT machine, where they take pre-treatment image scans, tattoo 3 registration marks and inject some dye through the penis into the bladder to enhance the imaging characteristics. The nurse who performed the latter was not very gentle and managed to create a small tear at the urethral opening in the process so now I have a bruised ego and a bruised and bloody dick too. The actual radiation treatments begin next Monday (12/05/07), 5 days per week except for the holidays, currently I am scheduled to receive 38 treatments running through till the end of January.

11/21/07 : I have made some additional alterations to my HELIX recently, I ground down, sanded and buffed it at the neck to more closely resemble the taper of the MGX model. The action is now dramatically different, but I am not sure if it is better or worse. It now more readily induces involuntary anal contractions, but it does not now move as readily with those contractions. The movement is less but the frequency is greater, the net effect is close to balanced, although I am really enjoying the increased induced contractions, as I can already tell that my PC muscles are gaining added strength and I am feeling the anal sphincter muscle less.

9/14/07 : I had a good session today. I have been abstaining from ejaculating for more than 2 weeks to test the effect on my arousal capabilities. After doing the normal rectal flush, lubing up and inserting my Progasm, I proceeded to read some erotica on-line, I had already decided that this was going to be my “release” day, as I was starting to get a little anxious and irritable without having ejaculated for that length of time.
I proceeded to do some edging while reading and found that as long as I stayed below the “point of no return”, I was able to generate some nice P-waves and was able to ‘milk’ my prostate by applying voluntary contractions. I took myself to the edge about 6 times over the course of 45 minutes and was able to ‘milk’ out about as much cum as I would in a traditional penile orgasm. I finally couldn’t stand not experiencing that “release” that a full ejaculation affords and went for it. When I orgasmed and ejaculated (producing a normal amount of cum), I had the strange realization that though it was a satisfying orgasm, it was not as intense as a dry-O I had experienced the day before.

I believe this experience has taught me two things. First, my rejuvenation cycle for ejaculation is on the order of 8-10 days for optimum arousal. The longer I go past that point does not really increase my desire or arousal quotient, while I stay ‘horny’, my mood becomes somewhat depressed and I just become more irritable.

Secondly, I now prefer the dry-O experience to the more traditional penile based orgasm/ejaculation (O/E) model for several reasons. Experiencing dry-O’s means no messy cum to deal with, it is possible to experience a series of them (MMO’s), a dry-O can last several times longer than the paltry 15-30 seconds of a traditional O/E, the orgasmic pleasure waves generated are more intense and more of my body becomes involved in the event and I still feel energized to continue experiencing them since no ejaculatory “release” has occurred.

I can now see some real effects of the “re-wiring” process. My pelvic floor muscles have definitely improved their tone and stamina. My psychological outlook has elevated the dry-O to a higher status above a traditional O/E. I may now start considering a traditional O/E as more like body maintenance for proper health, flushing out the system on a regular basis, while enjoyable, just isn’t the same experience as before embarking upon the Aneros learning journey.

8/15/07 : I had another good session today, I did some warm up activities with my Helix in place, I read some erotica and did mild contractions while sitting in a chair at my computer. I was feeling pretty aroused, it's been 6 days since my last ejaculation, after about an hour I switched out the Helix for the Progasm, within 10 minutes I was experiencing a series of mini-O's with mild lower body convulsions, after another 10 minutes the orgasmic feelings increased slighly and then remained relatively stable for more than a half hour, during which I experienced about 2-3 dry-O's (not as intense as reported in my previous post), but the underlying pleasure waves were just as good as my previous post. I have noticed that even though I empty my bladder before each session, as I get further into a session and my bladder starts to fill up that pleasurable sensation like the urge to urinate increases intensity. I will need to test whether having a fuller bladder at the beginning of a session hastens the onset of the pleasure waves by having the bladder also sending signals to the brain. I also need to test effects by insuring that the bladder remains empty by not drinking liquids for several hours before a session.

7/26/07 : I had a minor breakthrough yesterday (7/25/07), after abstaining from ejaculating for more than a week (confirming the amp up in arousal theory), I had an Aneros session with my newly acquired Progasm, I experienced about a half dozen dry-O's with lower body convulsions, within about an hour, while reading some on-line erotica. Wow, it was very nice, indeed. I hope to repeat the experience soon.

7/13/07 : It has been about 2 weeks now since my semen has cleared up and I have resumed using my Aneros devices. I notice that I am not getting the same level of pleasurable sensations now as I had before the biopsy, in fact sensations are remarkably decreased. I don't know if this is because of the actual physical trauma to my prostate by the biopsy needles or whether this is caused by my own emotional state and anxiety over the cancer diagnosis. I suspect the latter, as ones psyche really must be in tune to allow the super-O feelings to manifest themselves. The more reading that I've done on therapy options has me pretty convinced that the external beam radiation therapy is the route I will take for treatment. It is becoming a more precise procedure due to the use of computer aided imaging, this is reducing incidences of neighboring tissues and organs being severely damaged by the radiation. Hopefully as my mind comes to terms with the impending treatments I'll be able to once again enter the O-zone of experience.

6/18/2007, I met with my urologist and he discussed the treatment options that are generally available : 1.) the do nothing or "watchful waiting" process of just monitoring the diseases progress until more aggressive treatment is needed. 2.) Surgery to completely remove the prostate (radical prostatectomy). 3.) Radiation therapy using either radioactive 'seeds' or external beam radiation.4.) Chemotherapy. His opinion was that chemotherapy and watchful waiting were not appropriate for my particular case, thus the choice for me now is surgery or radiation.
I am leaning toward external beam radiation as that is the least invasive procedure.

06/08/07, Well the doctor called back today with results of my biopsy. It has been confirmed that I have prostate cancer. He is going to have his medical assistant call back next week to schedule a consultation to discuss treatment options. This is depressing news to be sure, but at least now I know something, which is better than waiting around worrying with uncertainty. After effects of the biopsy - still have blood in my semen, but I am generally feeling I'm approaching normalcy with respect to my lower abdominal area.

5/30/07, The blood in my urine cleared up in about 3 days, I waited a week before trying masturbating. Yech, I experienced the same thing 'darwin' experienced, namely, my ejaculate looked like chocolate syrup with all the blood in it. I will try again in a couple of days, the doctor said it could take 2-4 weeks to clear up, I hope it is on the 2 week side so I can reinstate some Aneros sessions. I am of the opinion that regular discharge of semen from the prostate is a good healthy thing to be doing, rather than having blood contaminated semen just setting in the prostate gland itself. My orgasm/ejaculation, while satisfying, was not as intense as normal and lacked much ejaculatory energy, more dribble than squirt. Additionally, I noticed an ever so slight burning sensation in my urethra afterwards, the sensation gradually diminished and went away after I had a full bladder evacuation.

UPDATE : May 22, 2007, Well I had the biopsy procedure done today, it wasn't nearly as bad as I had made it in my mind. I will get results in 10-11 days. I discussed the usage of the prostate massager with my doctor, he gave me the semi-official hospital stance, namely, the hospital does not perform prostate massage as a medical proceedure because official studies have not found the procedure to be particularily beneficial to prostate health, as such, they do not recommend or dissuade their patients from privately employing the procedure either through manual manipulation or via legally available commercial devices. In other words they allow the user to make his own choice. He did, however, recommend that I refrain from any prostate stimulation until the trauma from the biopsy was completely healed, he said that I would know it was healed when I had no more traces of blood in my urine or ejaculate (probably 3-4 weeks). I'll update this thread when I get the results of the biopsy back.

Thanks Guys for the feedback from my original post

The inner is not (it is controlled by the autonomic nervous system but can be trained to relax therapeutically with biofeedback). To identify this muscle, squeeze your anus as though you are holding back gas. This is the muscle that primarily drives the motion of the Aneros.

B Benign Prostate Hyperplasia

Or BPH. A non-cancerous enlarging of the prostate common in middle aged and older men, often causing urinary symptoms. BPH is one of the prostate ailments that the Aneros was originally developed to help treat. (from the wiki)

H hands-free

The patented design of our massagers allows them to be used completely – hands-free. This is an advantage over other prostate massagers. It allows an Aneros massager to be used in any position the user wants. More importantly, it frees the user to focus solely on the sensations instead of making a conscious effort to manually manipulate the massager. This subtle freedom is important for bringing the mind and body together during a session, which by many experience users is considered a required technique to master in order to achieve a Super-O.

J journey to the Super-O

Aneros massagers can be enjoyed in many different ways – to enhance a strength and pleasure of penile orgasms during partnered or solo sex, or solely for the pleasures derived from prostate orgasms. The ultimate experience for the route is the Super-O. The practice and understanding of how an Aneros massager, the body, and mind play off of one another to eventually achieve a Super-O is now commonly referred to as the “Journey to the Super-O” by our community members. For some men, this learning period is short in duration. For others, it can take quite some time. There are some key milestones on this journey – they can be viewed

K Kundalini Tab

Also known as the K-Tab.  Curves upwards to rest above the anus between the buttocks to pressure on an acupressure spot there. Named after the yoga concept that there is a serpent of power located at the base of the body’s trunk. The K-Tab and the arm that it extends from has taken the place of the handle seen in other Aneros models. (adapted from the wiki)

P PC muscle

The pubococcygeus muscle, one of a number of muscles in the pelvic floor. It is a hammock-like muscle, found in both sexes, that stretches from the pubic bone to the coccyx (tail bone) forming the floor of the pelvic cavity and supporting the pelvic organs. The PC muscle is largely involved in sexual response and contracting during orgasm. It is believed that strengthening leads to longer, more powerful orgasms. (from the wiki)

pelvic floor

The set of muscles that span the area beneath the pelvis, supporting the pelvic organs. (from the wiki)

perineum

The area between the scrotum and anus. The perineum provides external access to the prostate and a pudendal nerve acupressure spot.

perineum tab

On Aneros devices, the front arm which curves upward to press on the perineum during an Aneros session.   This actions prevents external prostate stimulation.  It also acts as a fulcrum against which the device can pivot to perform the internal prostate stimulation.

plastic

Aneros massagers are made from 3 different types of plastic. All are FDA approved and medical-grade, non-porous, and each has the right density for the right weight and balance for that particular model.

prostatitis

Inflammation of the prostate. Although there are many suspected causes, (bacterial infection, auto-immune response and neuromuscular tension), prostatitis remains an intractable disease which is often times unresponsive to traditional forms of treatment. Before the advent of antibiotics prostate massage was the first line form of treatment. In recent years with many people turning to holistic and homeopathic forms of medicine, prostate massage has been enjoying resurgence. (from the wiki)

PSA

Prostate specific antigen. A chemical produced in the prostate and measured in the blood as an indication of cellular activity in the prostate. Abnormally high levels of PSA may indicate health concerns such as inflammation or cancer. The PSA measurement may be elevated by ejaculation, and any form of anal play, including the Aneros. Ask your doctor for a recommended period of abstention prior to taking this test (the Aneros manufacturer suggests a few days to a week). (from the wiki)

S silicone

We call our silicone “Velvet Touch” for its luxurious, matte finish which is designed to hold lubricant. Silicone is used in our Syn models as well as the Vice and deVice.

Super-O

An abbreviation of Super orgasm. An overwhelmingly strong non-ejaculatory orgasmic event. Orgasms that have no refractory period allowing them to be repeated multiple times.  Though different for each man, the Super-O is considered to be the ultimate pleasure a man can achieve.
