I was curious of the range of ages of the members here. Maybe Aneros would want to know what age bracket they are reaching as well. I had not seen a poll related to this, so I thought I would start one.

i was actually thinking about doing an age poll myself. it would also be interesting to see the various rates of success within different age groups. i have a hunch it would increase with age

This is pretty interesting. Too bad more of the 190+ people that have viewed this poll didn't vote, but I think it is starting to tell a story.

19 years old and no luck yet with mgx yet, also holding out for the "smaller progasm" model that was talked about a while back.

i think it is very interesting that the 30's category is so low. that is consistent with my casual observations of guys' ages on this forum.

here's a guess: guys in their thirties may have the best partnered sex life, so they aren't so interested in this basically auto-erotic option. younger guys are still having trouble getting layed consistently, and older guys are in a life-long monogamous relationship, so possibly need a diversion.

hey, speak for yourself buddy. haha kidding, i avoid women like the plague; i think youre bang on. I also think that 'the 30s' seems like a high stress time aswell when people are realizing theyre getting further into adult hood and need to get a career, family etc established. Secondly, i would bet that as one gets older, you might tend to become more relaxed and comfortable with yourself; the whole 'what would my friends think if they saw me now' mental block could be eliminated. i certainly feel that my personal orgasmic obstacles mostly stem from youthful arrogance and pride.

OH- and i forgot to add; i believe the average member of my generation has about a 30 second attention span brought on by living in front of screens from a young age; whether it be TV, laptops, PSPs, whatever. AND, with the internet has come an increasing acceptence of pornography. i personally would feel like a creep walking into a porno shop but with the internet it feels so comfortable (although i do try to keep it down to a bare minimum). Even the word pornography has been transformed into the socially accetable 'porn'. Ive read articles detailing how this massive subjection to porn massively rewires the brain, creating a ridiculously high arousal threshhold (what in real life can make you horny when youve seen all your sexual fantasys played out on the internet repeatedly from a young age)... and, how can your imagination possibly turn you on when youre so used to having endless stimulation so easily accesable? Just some food for thought...

In don't know, but my first impression is that during your 30's (like Enemagra said) it is a time when you have the most amount of pressure to 'make something of yourself'. That would go for careers and families, I guess. By the time you reach 40+, you are more interested in what makes YOU tick. Expanding the horizons.

A very broad statement would be that those over 70 might not spend the same kind of time on the internet exploring this type of opportunity. Ofcouse not all, but I would think a larger percentage. I would assume that you can be multi-orgasmic well past 70. I am really hoping that is true!

another thought that never dawned on me before as to why aneros seems to be so popular with the older generation: i imagine many have discovered this product in a context of its original intention: helping prostate disorders... seems like a no-brainer

i didn't find it that way.

maybe that would be a good poll. perhaps something like this:

what led you to the aneros?
    - prostate problems
    - surfing: prostate stimulation
    - surfing: anal stimulation
    - surfing: extended orgasm
    - surfing: general sex toys
    - a male friend
    - a female friend
    - a sex shop
    - your mother

before this poll came out, i was thinking a good one would be:

    -20s super orgasmic
    -20s no luck
    -30s super orgasmic
    -30s no luck
    -40s super orgasmic
    -40s no luck
    -50s super orgasmic
    -50s no luck

i would bet that the higher up you go, the higher rate of success. i really think that the different ways different generations are socialized plays a huge role. actually, im taking a sociology class right now, maybe ill make this my final project

I am in my mid-late 40's (depending on your view, lol) and my husband is 40. Our relationship started out very actively sexually speaking, died out and is now back to being active but less athletic and more...what? Slower? I guess. Now we take more time to enjoy the journey instead of getting right to the main event; time constraints mean we don't have sex as often as we'd like, but when we do it takes several hours now. Even a quickie lasts over an hour most of the time and I have to say, I prefer it this way.

I would like to see this poll become active once again. I am very curious why there aren't more members from the 20's group. I mean 25 men is it for the 20's age group??? There's a whole world population. I guess I should feel lucky that I'm part of this poll.

Look HOW many men over all are missing out on this wonderful experience/journey.

Spread the word guys. Let's see if we can get arrested.

Great Poll and fascinating results so far. Somehow I missed this and just voted now, adding to the 60s total.

I first discovered my prostate almost 50 years ago during puberty years at an all boys summer camp and that led to developing a very active solo prostate massage habit in the 1950s, early 1960s. That led to some kinds of rewiring or maybe different original wiring of my erotic arousal nervous system.

The IOs (Intellectual Orgasms: please see Early Post of Youth Experiences post in my blog at: http://www.aneros.com/displayentry.php?id=205 ) that resulted were a life-changing glorious experience then and have contributed to being exceptionally integrated as a person, as we all are regardless of our gender orientations, where our "male" and "female", assertive and vulnerable fullness of being is naturally integrated and expressed in our way of being socially and with our partner. The biggest benefit is the ease and fullness of friendships with many many women, in a non-sexual but lasting, energetic and strongly bonded, platonic love, while having an even deeper relationship and sexual/erotic/ecstatic love and life with my partner, mrs. a!

Because of sex role pressures on young males, the open vulnerability of our external genitalia, and the mysterious sensations occasionally inside which are "dirty" and never to be explored, what I have termed elsewhere for years, "The Rolling Poison of the Playground", I am not surprised, but saddened by the low numbers of young males here.

When will our prostate, our great orgasmic treasure, and its portal the anus/rectum, be recognized as a central, natural essential part of male genitalia and male eroticism in its full erotic/ecstatic/and integrative/developmental potential as well as something able to be discussed socially in any company without any discomfort for all orientations from rigidly straight hetero to exclusive bottom homosexual?

It may take another couple of generations, if the movement isn't viciously suppressed again as means of fear-based social control. Forums and conversations such as we have here are absolutely essential and the more open here the better.

One of the seven sub-20s here. Or, rather, soon to be.

Artform is absolutely correct with the rolling poison analogy. It's been this way since the middle ages, although we are making progress now. Perhaps the best thing to do is to instigate another hippy movement.

I'm 32, in a wonderful stable relationship were I don't have any trouble getting it. What sparked my interest in MMO and ultimately aneros, was seeing how my girlfriend responds during her orgasm. Losing control, shaking, quivering, facial expressions, vocalizations, telling me it feels too good, just can't take any more pleasure, having difficulty standing, walking, maintaining composure, etc... I thought to myself wow, I've had some good T-orgasms but I've never experienced anything like she is. There must be something I'm missing.

At first I attributed my lack of pleasure with being circumcised. The foreskin contains the highest number of touch/pleasure sensitive nerves, where the head of the penis contains pressure/pain sensitive nerves. I'm guessing this is why I've never said it feels too good, but the rest of it is still possible.

I will never circumcise my male children just so they look like daddy or for any reason what so ever. Western medicine is at work here again. Watch the main video http://www.youtube.com/user/painfulquestioning I think the motivation is simple, money.

If you are really interested in the purpose and pleasure the foreskin holds take a look at these 10 minute videos: Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9DoCn3gATE and Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps1dkbcOKfA You have to sign in but the information is worth it.

I think the ages should be adjusted i am 29 in a little over a month but i feel like selecting 20's doesn't fit me a 26-34 group would have fit better i would have done the poll in increments of 5-8 years.

I agree with Promass' splitting the 20's by age. I think there's also another pair of sub-groups in the 20's...'single' versus 'committed monogamous.'

Masters and Johnson, in their first study of male sexual response, named age 42 as a major transition point. The offer of an improved or different orgasm might have some interest for 'over 42's' as the MMO word travels.

    So, perhaps <26 committed monogamous, <26 single, 26-34 committed monogamous, 26-34 single, 34-42, 43-55, 55-62, 63-71, 72-80, >80.

    Welcome JSTAFF22

You are not alone in age or "experimenting". Even some of us geezers (I'm now 62) started prostate massaging in mid-teens and "experimented" back then. In the Male Sexual Orientation Here Poll at http://www.aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3204 you could vote "Just Figuring It Out" if you so choose and join the 2 previous voters in that category.

One of the effects of prostate massage can be various forms of Day After Effects described in the Poll of that title. In my youth I had really extraordinary ones I called Intellectual Orgasms, dry-Os with vivid cinematic imagery. There is an early entry in my blog http://www.aneros.com/displayblog.php?id=3544 describing them.

This site and the companion Wiki have wonderful examples, suggestions, advice and friendly chats.

    Hi Inverse and newbie2009

I don't think we are talking "one-stop shopping", or even two here. The science on this increasingly shows a sliding scale. That is why the Male Sexual Orientation Here Poll http://www.aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3204 was structured to account for that middle range: Straight-bi(14% of all voters to date), Bisexual(7%), Just figuring it out(2%), and Gay-bi(4%). That is virtually a quarter of all the voters in this poll to date.

From straight men who have experimented with gay relationship(s), often at one particular age or stage of our evolving life development, through even more carefully differentiated experiences and preference patterns to gay men who have had some hetero experimenting, it is a wide range on the sexuality spectrum.

    Enjoy.

JSTAFF, I'm in exactly the same boat as you :P

I still, despite trying to steel myself by posting my intentions on the forum, keep finding excuses to not order it because I'm not confident enough to do it. (It's very unlikely it'd go wrong, but I can't seem to accept that). I've had bad experiences with the British postal system :P

I'd say you're certainly not too YOUNG to deal with this - physical age and mental/emotional maturity are two separate things. I'm only your elder by a year, and I know enough about myself to know I'd benefit from this. If I could shake this damned inhibition.

If you're comfortable with feeling around down there then there's nothing stopping you from using the helix. Don't let your conditioning convince you it's wrong!

Thanks art for the kind words and the info

And to anon for making me realise I'm not the only one who is weary of our "glorious" postal system :P You make a good point about maturity really. I'm amazed still at how many people my age act like they were younger. The teenage years certainly are a strange time. I think the main thing that originally deterred me from ordering was the thought of others finding out. People think of me as one of the smart "group" of people, (why teens always assume that "geeky" people don't have a sex life I will never know) and I kept thinking they would be shocked or put off because I have another side to me. I suppose looking at these forums helped me take the leap of faith :P

I was pleased to find everything was discrete when it arrived earlier this morning. All that remains now is finding the time

I'll be 60 in August. Aneros has facilitated a depth of intimacy and excitement to my 20 year marriage I never could have imagined. My wife agrees that Aneros has helped both of us discover sensations we never knew existed. Our first honeymoon ended; but, our senior one appears to have just begun!!!

A poll like this should really ask about what year you were born rather than your age.
As time goes on our ages increase, but our year of birth always remains constant.

This is my first post and it is great to know that I am not the only one aged 70 or more. So far I have only tried using the SGX and MGX models but am looking forward to expanding my experiences with other models. Obviously, I am enjoying the journey so far.It is early days; have only been active for a couple of weeks.

    Welcome Pommie!

Here in the Forum, in both the Polls and General Discussion, you will meet others too in your age range, like mog who is about 78, as much older than you, as I am younger than you (I'm 62). The great thing is that we all chat away here and share experiences regardless of age or any categories!

    Hello Artform,
Thank you for your Welcome. It is great to know that there are people out there who are willing to listen. I have been wondering how many of us senior citizens there are involved in this. The impression I have is that those of us who are over 60 should really be past participating in this sort of activity. It would be nice to know that, at the age of 70, my interest in this and sex in general is not so unusual. I would like to get feedback from those of my age so that I can gauge what to expect.

I think you will be pleased Pommie with the number of vigourous and experimental over-60 enthusiasts here!

Sex and beyond into wider orgasmic, life force and even spiritual energetics triggered and amplified by techniques we learn through Aneros and complementary practices are equally available to those of us in the golden light! Fewer life distractions too, on average. Will you be a solo only practitioner or do you have a partner?

Lastly, you mention "gauging what to expect." and two key observations here apply:
    1. each person's journey of exploring the Aneros potential is uniquely their own and often quite different. In the Wiki here, you will find a Glossary that has terms for key Milestones and further overviews on these, but
    2. the other key is to leave all expectations behind, way behind, and be prepared to patiently relax and listen for what your body may start very faintly whispering to you...

all the best to you for your journey here Pommie

    Hi all --

Thought I should "confess" to being the bloke who just boosted the "over 80" count all the way up to "2."

I was born in 1925. I remember clearly the day the paperboy arrived at our kitchen door with a big, bold headline that read, "LINDY IN PARIS"

That memory from age 2 is just as clear as is that of my first ejaculation at about age 13! I continue to find such events just as pleasurable as ever.

If the other member of this high altitude group would care to PM me, I'd be delighted to respond.

Very best wishes to all, from

Interesting that the age use is fairly even from 20's to 50's except for the dip in 30 somthings, I guess that time is for getting families started.

I am going to change categories on my next birthday. Maybe it is time for an updated poll.

Absolutely, Buster. Let's do this again. Our forum population is way up and I think it's a very interesting question.

Please do so. Actually, maybe it shouldn't be a mandatory thing, but strongly encouraged when selecting a nome-de-plume for the forum, eh?

Everyone should remember that the first Aneros only came out in 1997 if my memory serves me correctly, give it time for the Anerosgospel to spread. We can all speculate on why there's a dip in the generation of the 30 yr olds, but I wouldn't regard this statistic as written in stone....in a hundred years time my estimate will be that the dip will come much much later and Anerosuse will be overrepresented in the younger age groups as the Aneros will be mainstream by then and the ppl that never tried at a later age may never will.

About to turn 21. I have the grueling boredom of the way-too-long summer vacation to thank for my finding of the aneros. I'm also happy that I can start rewiring my body and getting to know in depth of what it is capable of at a young age.

Just voted. I recently turned 30 so put myself in the 30's category though really I used the aneros a lot in my 20's and I don't think I've used it once since turning 30. If I had noticed this poll before I would had been in the 20's category.
