Is he/she new to you? The self-conscious thing creeps into our lives with regularity and it shouldn't, especially when you about to embark on something that should be totally enjoyable and with as little angst as possible. I try to be intuitive with my clients. Listening to their bodies and watching their reactions as the session proceeds.
Prostate massage and genital massage is as intimate as you can be with a person short of intercourse.
I personally don't trade techniques or converse with other bodyworkers.. Maybe thats just me.. But i can bet "they" have the same experiences. I have men that stay completely draped during the whole massage and i also have men that prefer to be totally naked on my table. Erections happen whether covered or not. The new client that comes to me and has an erection is the one that feels self conscious. its natural to feel that way, I let them know its fine. If he isn't too up-tight, i might say something like "So i see it works just fine" . Try to get them to relax. Maybe that too simplistic an answer, but its a hell of a lot better that having them freak out or want to stop the session and leave.
I don't know where you are or where you get your massages. I would say that bodywork at a professional spa or health club will be more restrictive than a personal studio.
What i can tell you is, if you are totally comfortable in your own sexuality, then you have opened yourself up for the ultimate experience. Sadly bodywork has such a bad reputation. As you open up more and just let it happen, it becomes the bodyworker that must decide and not you. If you find yourself responding to the touch and become aroused, and he/she responds negatively, it becomes his issue, not yours.. As far as I'm concerned, when my client gets a boner and starts producing precum I take it as a compliment to my ability as a bodyworker. With or without an orgasm. So relax, enjoy it. stop obsessing, go with it and keep enjoying your aneros. It's all good.
