Do you need to have evacuated 100% of whats inside your colón to have a successful session? Does the aneros need 100% space to do it's thing? I sometimes find that i cant squeeze out the last "pebble" when having a BM. I know it's there. This aneros experiencw has heightened my awareness of what is in my colón!!!

You do not need 100% even though that makes for a quicker and more tolerable cleanup. I used to clean out with an enema all the time. I can't remember the last time I have done it.

Nope, certainly not. Although let's get the terminology correct so there is no confusion. It's your rectum that needs to be empty before an Aneros session, not your colon. The Aneros does not reach into your colon. Yes, some guys like to do a light rectum rinse before a session. I've never done that though. It's a personal preference thing. Do whatever works for you.

First off, "100% evacuated" implies taking laxatives or a couple of large enemas to clear the whole colon. As Buster and Love_is correctly note, that's not what this is about.

This is have the bowel movement, then rinse your rectum. Not, take an enema to have a bowel movement.

Guys who have a well balanced fibrous diet with mealtimes well matched to their periods of physical activity may avoid rectal rinsing all together. Some of us are not that well disciplined and may have a couple of small 'turds' or goo lingering in our rectums. Such "leftovers" result in reduced Aneros agility or get in the way of good prostate contact.

Once experienced, shoot for getting the entire rectal-douche done in 4 or 5 minutes. I view it as "session insurance." Lube works better and I get a better sense of prostate, rectum and anal sphincter. The Aneros seems more "invisible."

Try just four ounces of warm water (within 5 deg. of body temp). Inject and immediately expel. If you expel some waste, do a second injection and expel that. Choose a body position that won't get fluid up into your sigmoid colon. Standing, squatting or sitting on the toilet probably works best. Lying on your right side may work OK.

Adjust amount of fluid and body position to your likes and the arrangement of your bathroom.

Following the 'classic' enema instructions of injecting while lying on your left side or in a knee-chest position is a guarantee of getting fluid into your sygmoid colon and triggering a time consuming bowel movement. Ignore what you may find on the web regarding Enema. Aside from lubing the nozzle, ignore what's printed on the back of the syringe box.

That said though, for some guys, sense of Chakra and DanTien is more distinct with little waste or gas in the bowels. Later in your travels, you might try this just for the experience (Avoid dehydration and sip on some sports drink during such a session.) There are some serious medical implications to large volume enemas and colonic irrigation so please understand those hazards and take care with water quality before engaging in the behavior. Also study a bit about flora restoration with pro-biotics.

Buster, Love_is and Rook, have this right. Using an enema prior to an Aneros session is an option. I'd written a section on this for the WIKI that goes into greater detail (Getting Started - Aneros Wiki), but I'll give it to you thumbnail. It is indeed preferable to have an empty rectum when using the Aneros. But as the others have said, 100% empty is not the standard to use for this. Furthermore, an enema may not be necessary at all if you are fairly regular. This is the thing, if there is a great deal of matter inside the rectum during a session it will impede the mobility of the massager. Secondly, it can make for a messy cleanup. While the second factor is of lesser importance, some guys are squeamish about the possibility of surprises.

If you opt for the enema, as Love_is and Rook have said, there is no need to clear out your entire colon, it is the rectum that you're concerned with and it doesn't take very much in the way of volume to accomplish this (4 to 6 ounces of water). On the other hand, if you are regular, the rectum is generally empty (or near empty ) most of the time. If you're not regular, and you wish to avoid the enema entirely, try incorporating some more fiber into your diet.

p.s. My preferred position for an enema is right over the toilet. In this position gravity keeps most of the liquid inside the rectum and you're close by for the evacuation.

I have always found that even the slightest amount of brown stuff in my rectum winds up damaging a session, as it sometimes confuses the body and gets a peristalsis going, when that is not what you want. So a three ounce rinsing, repeated only if necessary, is part of my ritual before lubing up.

I never understood why guys had an issue with this. I can understand if you are planning on having sessions that last 2 to 3 hours long. But for me, if I go to the bathroom anywhere between an hour before a session, Im completely fine. Once in a great while I have a small piece come out. But its usually so small, that even if I had that BM, it would have still be access that wasnt removed. Nor do I keep a steady diet.

I know everyone is different, but you have to remember what we are exploring here. This is an area that isnt always the cleanest to begin with. Go to the bathroom often, wipe well, shower each day, and there should be no major problems. Sometimes doing do much prep for a session can kill the mood, just as so with someone that is having anal sex.

It only takes a few minutes to rinse out your rectum. No brown stuff...none. Ewwww.

My "instrument" of choice is a cheap Fleet's Enema bottle. Just the right amount, about a "two bottle" cleanse is all that is needed in most cases.

Thanks. I would have thought, though, that if you still had some waste left in your rectum, it would sit between the "prostate-side" wall of the rectum and the Aneros and just block any contact? Or, if the waste were on the "spine-side" of the rectum wall, the Aneros would not be able to move back and forth properly, lest it "jiggle" and move around the waste that's inside there. I imagine that to be a session-buster.

I understand from this forum that waste stays in the colon until "evacuation", but if it gets caught in the rectum, it isn't automatically expelled out the anus, is it?

I would prefer to do that, but:
1) Time consuming
2) Living at home with mum, I barely get enough privacy to have a session, let alone pre-session clean-up. Maybe when I move out, I can think about that. Thanks for clearing up the terminology.

When you say brown stuff, can you feel it in there? Is that what you tried to squeeze out earlier in a BM but couldn't? How does the enema get out "solid" waste? I thought it was just for cleansing/washing out the more liquid material in there??

Dude, how do you manage 2 - 3 hours? Do you live alone? Do you work? DO you set aside one whole evening? Do you lose arousal and motivation after a the first hour? I sure do. I would love a reason to keep the session going.

Coz of living arrangements and work scheduling, there may be as much as 8 hours between a BM and a session for me. But then again, I BM every 2 days usually, so I don't get "clogged up" again for a while. I guess I need more fibre!

I don't have any piece come out. wtf. That would turn me off. My ass seems to close up around the Aneros, so when the Aneros is out, I feel firmly shut and not "gaped". I hope....! I have OCD, so I wipe thoroughly, with wet cottom wool, babywipes, toilet paper, you name it. I can't imagine trying to get any future gf in on this act!

For a guy "who's time is very short" you sure have a lot of time for posting on here! 200 plus posts? Great going! I do work and have a family. I have just been so challenged by this damn anal toy that I feel that I need to put in the time to achieve the "super-o" that so many mention here. During my 2-3 hour sessions there are several peaks and valleys. Most of the time I feel like something bigger is coming, but it never seems to happen. I try to have a good BM before hand. I usually have two BMs a day, a good diet and plenty of liquids help. I tried enemas but didn't really help any more than usual. Just "jarred loose " more up stream.
