Hi Rumel,
I have been wondering how you have been doing. Is this treatment that you are leaning toward have the same success rate as the other methods? I know that there are different levels of cancer that a person can have. I am sure you will pick the right treatment for you.

FROM YOUR BLOG
1/17/08 - Here's the latest on my treatments. The treatments are continuing to go fairly well, I am at the 3/4 point now (29 treatments done, 8 or 9 to go). I am still experiencing continuing fatigue and a need for cat naps and I continue to experience urinary urgency and frequency, but it has lessened in intensity this week.

I spoke again with my doctor today about long term prognosis and options if this radiation wasn’t successful. He said that my probability for remaining cancer free for the next 5-10 years was very good. He said that they would begin monitoring my PSA 3-4 months after treatment ends and probably at 4 month intervals thereafter. He said that the PSA numbers should gradually decline to a nadir point after about 1 ½ years following treatment.
In the event this treatment is not successful the next regime would likely be a radical prostatectomy or hormone therapy (which is not considered a long term effective treatment - limited to 2-3 years). Hopefully, I won’t have to face either of those choices.
That's about all for now, all things considered, I don’t think I could ask for better conditions for treatment.
***********
I would make the following comment in the above paragraph regarding your Doctor's suggestion of a radical prostatectomy should your psa begin to rise sometime in the future. I would suggest strongly that you should look very carefully into Cryo aplation as it is definitely the procedure of choice for those men who have the misfortune of a failed radiation procedure. Doing a radical on a previously radiated gland is no simple matter.
The advantage of cryo is that they let the iceball go THROUGH the prostate call about 1/4" and that will kill any residual cancer cells that may have been there before your radiation procedure. And at the same time, it is entirely logical that the field of coverage of the radiation probably already covered it. You will just have to wait and see.

Now I would like to switch gears and ask you some questions and make some comments regarding the reason for my original post about whether or not you feel the Aneros will provide erotic stimulation to the sphincter, scrotal tissue, the penis shaft, the head - the "all over the body" stuff - AFTER YOU HAVE HAD YOU RADIATION PROCEDURE (or any other prostate cancer procedure) and your gland is now in a damaged condition. Because your gland is now damaged goods, things may be changed. It is very possible the flesh of your prostate may well be dead to the extent it may not be able to produce the major volume of fluid for and ejaculation. Also, it is a possibility that the nerves on the exterior surface of your prostate that control erections may have been damaged to some degree. It is for the thousands and thousands of men who now have damaged goods and cannot get and erection or ejaculation that I am trying to gather this information.
I am a bit disappointed that your response to my posting is the only one I have received. Perhaps my response on your blog may get some more men to comment on my endeavor to gain some opinions on how they might gain some delightful sensations even though they won't be able to cum in the conventional manner.
Please keep me informed.
